Tiger, that is AWESOME and I'm excited! Even so, personally I would prefer they be PM'd, as Kozma is working on some too, and I'm sketching a bit as well. ... I'm thinking we might need a group PM for badges. XD What say you?

A badge PM sounds fine at least for gathering up the final badges, and I definitely don't mind being in one. ...But that kinda leaves my initial problem of "I'd like to make sure it's clear what this is/that the colors aren't awful before I turn in final versions." ...Thooough I also don't wanna be That Guy showing her badges if other people are keeping theirs private <.< Hrm. Maybe I just have to suck it up and hope I pick good colors =P
...How is the final badge being picked, anyway? The only time I've seen multiple possibilities for a badge, said possibilities were drawn by the same person and the group in question just kinda voted on which ones they liked best =P But here, with multiple people, you and GLQ could pick, or there could be a vote ,or we could play a children's card game...

Tiger - If you want to be sure of the colors, you could still submit them to the two of us with the caveat that it's not the final version, and we could give you critique then. I promise I won't bite or go "it is now submitted and now you can never change it!". xD Or you could just sidechat it to me or other certain people? (I can try to help if you sidechat me, although I'll admit I'm not the most artistically minded, though I can give my opinion.) ...Unless Fluffle has a different thought on how Tiger can get critique for her badges beforehand. As for which is picked, I... don't know. xD Maybe a vote could work. Or maybe there could be a way to consolidate ideas for both badges? (Though that would create more work. I guess it depends on the badges presented to us.)

Hm...then I guess the extra critique route - in which badge makers, GLQ, and I give opinions on colors, and then the potential badges are discussed/shown to the participants? Or...we could just decide in the group PM. XD
Speaking of >>;

Soooo since we're coming up just a couple weeks out from the end of Spring Cleaning - I think there was some interest in doing a Summer Cleaning sort of event as well? I don't want to get ahead of myself or steal the reins from Fluffle and Gelquie, buuut is this something we can consider doing mebbe? I've found this really helpful for my productivity and I know a lot of other people were saying the same.

I would definitely be up for a Summer Cleaning in order to stay on track with projects and get them organised if anybody wants to start it up. ^^

I could maybe skip the list part, but the weekly updates are nice. My projects tend to be long and/or open-ended, so the list doesn't really help me that much personally, because I never really cross things off. But the weekly updates are nice, a record of what I've done the past week, a nice time for reflection, a motivation to make sure I accomplish something.

I'm down for summer cleaning too, definitely. ^^ I will consult with Gelquie to see about the logistics of such.~

I'd be a-okay with just an open-ended comment thread for project updates, similar to what we have with Mini-Comments/Rants/Gloats and the like. The more structured a thing is, the more active maintenance it takes and then it goes blorp once the initial enthusiasm runs out. But an open-ended thread could get updated and revived whenever.
Granted, I, like June Scarlet, tend to do enormous open-ended projects, and lists either don't help me at all or I keep them on a whiteboard because this way I get to erase a completed task.

So... considering I get a big ol' fat F for my Spring Cleaning projects, I'd be up for a summer one. Right now, I've craziness of the summer children's musical at my church. 50 kids, 1st to 6th grade, 10 weeks. Not a "full out" musical. Think more of elementary school musicals, where everyone is pretty much on stage the whole time. But it still gets crazy, and all of us as leaders probably question our sanity at least once a summer. After that, maybe I'll finally have some time to think of such things again. Oh, and since the only task I managed to do was "read more" and I'm on book 6 of the Harry Potter series (a re-read) perhaps I should change that F to a T for Troll...
P.S. Can "survive the children's musical at church with most of my remaining brain cells in tact" be a task on my summer list?

Well, that about wraps this event up! =D Contrary to the whole list setup and everything, not all of the things on the lists had to be crossed off. What matters is effort and that you've come farther than you have been three months ago. That in itself is huge. This and the other Spring Cleaning thread will be moved to Memory Lane, but one will be renamed to Summer Cleaning for a more open-ended productivity thread. I'm extremely proud of each of you for your efforts. Way to go! =D Let me know if I missed anyone!

So I was thinking it might be fun to come up with other names for our "cleaning" projects for others seasons... "Summer Jobs" (but people might think we are talking about actual jobs). If we kept going, "Fall Harvest" or "Winter Warm-Up" I don't know. Just a cheesy idea I had. I've got to come up with something better than "Summer Job" though. Ha!

(And maybe Winter Wrap-Up instead of Warm-Up, since the goal is to wrap up projects? ;P )

Hey-o, guys - so there's been some discussion, and due to Flufflepuff and Gelquie having potential obligations coming up this summer, Twillie and I will be hosting the Summer Cleaning event! Our plans at the moment: - Summer Cleaning will run from July 1st - September 21st
- Though if Fall Cleaning should start September 21st, we may shorten it by a week or two.
- We'll be renaming this thread and the Project List thread (If you participated in Spring Cleaning, it's up to you how you go about making your new list. You can put it in a new post, in the old post, delete the old one all-together, whatever floats your boat!)
- We'll be sending the old Update Thread to Memory Lane and starting fresh with a new one =)
We do need your guys' opinions on when the event ends; as said above, we might shorten it by a week or two, not only because of Fall Cleaning, but because of school starting for some forumers. Or, would those of you going back to school (and thus maybe not planning to participate in a Fall Cleaning event) want an equally-long summer event to get as much off your plate as possible before the semester begins? (Also should we give this event a different name? XD Suggestions have included Summer Jobs, Summer Catchup, and Summer Sweep - or if you have another suggestion, post it!) And a quick FAQ for newcomers: Q: What the heck is this? A: Spring Cleaning was a project created by flufflepuff, meant to clear out the cobwebs of old, unfinished projects and tasks! It uses to-do-lists, weekly updates, and group accountability to help encourage those efforts! You can read a more thorough description here. Summer Cleaning is basically the sequel =) Q: Can I join if I didn't participate in Spring Cleaning? A: Absolutely! Q: What if I don't have a lot of time this summer? A: You can still participate if you like! Just keep those limitations in mind as you make your list. Q: Do I have to complete all my tasks? A: While there may be a reward for doing so, there's no punishment for failing to complete all tasks, either =) Q: Can I change my list once we start? A: Definitely! While items with strikethroughs are clinically proven to increase the list-owner's Feeling of Power, removing tasks that you can no longer do/no longer intend to do is perfectly fine, as is adding new tasks as you go along. Q: What should my list look like? Where do I post it? A: Lists are posted on this thread! How you organize your list is entirely up to you, as well as how in-depth your tasks are. Q: What are weekly updates and where are they posted? A: On July 1st, we'll create a new Update Thread, but you can find the old one here!. Pick whatever day of the week you like, and report every week (as you're able) on how you've done - this isn't meant to shame or punish, but rather as a way to hold accountability, to reflect, as a weekly reminder, and a way to keep the participants motivated!

Hey folks, just a friendly reminder that Summer Cleaning begins the day after tomorrow! If you (like me) haven't gotten your list sorted and ready to go yet, now's a good time! (I've also added two new questions to the FAQ, if you happen to be a newbie looking to join in =) ) ((tagging SC participants so they see this, I don't know who all's in, so 8D ))
