"So is everyone else on this ship. She isn't special. Get up the ladder. I'll let her die on the other ship if you really want to watch." He gestures again to the ladder. Silver turned her eyes away. "I don't." She dropped her weapon and climbed up the ladder. {It's up to you to save the ship, Rith.} she urged her friend. "Your choice." He drops Rith and follows her up the ladder. Rith will have a minute or two before the ship detaches from the shuttle to do something to save herself.

He drops Rith and follows her up the ladder. Rith will have a minute or two before the ship detaches from the shuttle to do something to save herself. Silver looked around the Jalgar ship as her head came out of the ladder entrance. She stayed there, trying block the Jalgar's exit to buy Rith and the Trallyrs a little more time. --- The artificial accessory of Rith's brain opened and assessed the damage to her body. Her senses mixed and her feeling left her floating weightless in a nebula of signals. The personal appurtenance meshed with her mind, giving her a moment to feel like her old self. She knew her current body was below optimal in both heath and physical fitness, and hesitated at the thought of switching to her Zafara form. She thought better of it, picking her Bori form instead. If I have to grapple with their mechanical hands I don't want soft fingers that can get crushed...As her body shifted she brought up a memory that was normally locked to her. The identity of her betrayer. "You are supposed to serve ME for LIFE!" yelled Rith, presently in the form of a Techo. "As long as I live you are mine! I BUILT YOU!"
"That's an oversimplification of the terms of my service and the matter of my existence," the companion robot responded. A decision has been reached, and is not solely based on your most recent infraction. I will deactivate your ceregraft and leave you to your exile."
"You'll have to kill me first!" she screamed, rushing the robot who grabbed at her throat-The memory ended as her ceregraft finished with her body and shut down again. She snarled inwardly, grasping for the memory she had just seen- but it was gone again. She looked down at her body, feeling angry and stupid with just her natural brain to rely on again. It registered amid her other thoughts that she was finally her natural dark colors again, with a tuft of green on her tail to match the green of her eyes. These eyes shifted to the hole in the ceiling that would soon open and release the air from the cabin. She'd heard a hole like that could be patched temporarily with a force field. It might be worth a try, but she looked around the room for a backup plan. Would the remains of the cabin door be large and strong enough, she wondered. ((If nothing intervenes with her:)) But wouldn't ships have emergency oxygen masks? From what she'd seen of Trallyr accommodations for other species so far they'd likely only fit a Trallyr. But why hadn't the ship been protected? Were pirates in the area rare, or did the Trallyr think themselves immune from attack? She frowned at her thoughts. Another thing was bugging her. The Trallyr passengers were too helpless. One or two behaving like that she could understand, but all the passengers? It was a red flag, and could be an act. They might even be with the pirates. She mentally cursed went to the cabin door, glancing out into the passenger cabin to see what the people there were doing now. They would have heard the conversation, even if only one of them admitted to speaking Jalgarean. ... Unless that one was with the pirates. She could tell everyone the Jalgar said whatever she wanted them to believe. But from what she had said they had said, it seemed unlikely. But language barriers would not have stopped any of the Trallyr from hearing the gunshots- they had to think her dead, she thought. {The pirates are done torturing the passengers and are now going to asphyxiate them,} she sent out, though she held no hopes of a timely answer from the Rinamians or any possible Trallyr rescuers.

[RITH?] --- The vacuum pulled at Rith and her surroundings. She leapt to meet it. [I'm fine. We're fine.] Rith stared at space through her new window. Watching as the ship holding her friend pulled away. [We just have to wait for them to come back. I'll get you then.] "It worked." she announced to the Trallyr. She let go of the bracelet, leaving it vacuum sealed to the ceiling. "Might as well stay where you are. They said they'd be back." She sorted through her luggage for a suitable outfit, somewhat gleefully picking out her space trooper attire. She sat in the captain's chair, looking over her control panel again. Hah. And Silver said nothing good would ever come from working for Dr. Sloth.

Sloth."I don't know. Not my decision. Maybe a few days." --- The trallyr were needless to say stunned at the strange creature before them. They didn't see it arrive on the ship and they watch in confused fascination. The control panel isn't as complicated as one might expect. An array of buttons, switches, and levers lay before her. Most of which are written only in Trallyean. Some pictorial symbols indicate that turning is activated by a set of two levers and one switch. One warning light seems to denote lower-than desired oxygen levels in the ship, but not at the critical level. The window outside shows the Jalgar ship pulling away and accelerating.

Silver stared at the ground, still sobbing. "When... when are we going back? All those people... are dying." [RITH?] --- The vacuum pulled at Rith and her surroundings. They said they'd be back." Silver stared at him in horror. [ RITH WE MIGHT NOT BE BACK FOR A FEW DAYS! WHAT DO WE DO?! ] --- Rith cursed again. [ A few days? We can't wait that long. -bleep-, must be in case we managed to cover the hole. That sly -bleep-. Whatever, I think I can fly this ship. Can't read Trallyean, but hopefully someone this ship can. Ah- ] She turned around, eying the Trallyr. "Thought I told you to stay in the luggage room. Whatever, can anyone here read? And stop staring, this isn't even my true form. Captain Rithivaland, shapeshifter, at your service, I guess." [ Silver, be a dear and find out the name of that-bleep- ] --- Silver gulped, or tried to, and stood up. "What.. what is your captain's name?" she asked Lochoi .

One of the shorter ones walked forward and explained the controls to the shuttle, or at least what the labels read. Another pipped up with some useful information about this kind of shuttle and how much energy the ship probably has left. A few days worth of energy, he guesses. --- Lochoi took a moment to think. "He has many names. I call him Fugel. But that is not his name. It would be stupid to tell you his name."

Silver replied. "Why would it be stupid to tell me his name?" Is escape from him common? she wondered.

Even our buyers do not. It is a matter of security." Something shifts at an apparatus on his back and his mask changes color for a moment. He doesn't react to it. "It is better to come along now than stay in this airlock. There is a place for you. Do you eat?"
