A short time ago, on a board not so far away, somebody ( totally not me) suggested that perhaps it would be a good idea to create a fan club thread for this. There's already one but it's really old, and super dead, so I got the okay to create a new one. Thus, here we are! Whether you're a long-time fan or a newcomer to the franchise, you're welcome to talk about all the things here. Just remember to tag your spoilers accordingly. =) *** DjuThat would have been neat, but I really like Adam Driver as Kylo so I can't say, having seen him in the role, that I would prefer that. =P
I kinda like the outbursts because they are a strongly visual way of showing how very not-in-control he is. Plus, they gave us that funny moment with the two stormtroopers "nope"-ing on out of there. But your idea certainly paints a cool mental image!

Oh maaan yeees, this movie. This movie. It revived so many feelings, it's crazy. My brother is a die hard Star Wars fanboy and he brainwashed me as a kid - it took us weeks to convince his girlfriend to watch episode VII, but then she did and now she's crazy about it too! Star Wars wins everytime! Yaaay! I agree with you guys on the Rey Skywalker theory - it is indeed the most likely relation. These people are all marked by fate! XD I've came across this very funny post on tumblr about Chewbacca and his experience with the Skywalkers. He was there in the Clone Wars and saw how Anakin went wrong, he was by Luke's side when he fixed everything. So, when Kylo Ren was born, he probably just though, "oh wow, can't wait what goes wrong with you." The guy probably knows about Rey's past as well since he's always there. Shady Chewie keeps the cards to himself. XP ....About Kylo Ren...hm, there's something I wanna ask. XD One of my cousins proposed a very bold turn for the character and I wanna know if you'd like to see it, or if it'd be a terrible, horrible decision. XD I'm really big fan of Adam Driver as a comediant, and I was blown away with his performance in a more dramatic role as Kylo Ren. So I'm pretty happy with things as they are, but my cousin said that when Kylo Ren first revealed his face in the movie he was expecting Hayden Christensen himself or someone with a striking resemblance. Then everyone would be like "holy cow, the force and the genes are strong in this one". If that had happened, how would you feel? Good, bad, lame, cool? Thoughts?
If I haven't ever seen Driver as Ren, then I'd say I wouldn't mind that. I just really dig these strong family bonds that - as has been previously said - are taken so seriously by the franchise. But. I dunno. My judgement has never been the sharpest. XD
The only thing I'd ever change about Driver's character is his outburts of rage - I actually love how hot-headed he is. But in my head, it'b be cooler if when he got angry, instead of slashing out his lightsaber, things around him started breaking apart and the lights flickered because of his conection with the force. Then while everything bursts into flames around him, he'd just stand still there clenching his fists. It would be a bonus to have Kylo Ren resemble Anakin (Rey herself looks a bit like Schmi Skywalker), but that shouldn't be the main consideration for his actor. I'd have Adam Driver over Hayden Christensen any day due to his unquestionably superior acting skills. 'Nuff said.
Just noticed: while his other relations have brown/blond hair, Kylo Ren's hair is black. Think he dyed it to look more dark-sidey? Ah, but Kylo Ren's temper tantrums are a defining part of his character — they represent immaturity and instability. I remember reading somewhere that the sequel trilogy was supposed to depict the gradual progression of a fledgling villain into a hardened antagonist. So Kylo's still taking his baby steps, in a manner of speaking, but once he grows up into a calmer, more assured bad guy, I would love to see him portray his anger in the way Dju spoke of.

Saw the movie again today, and I loved it even more. I laughed at basically everything BB-8 did even though I knew what he was gonna do. Hey, I finally came up with a decent reason that could explain Rey being a Skywalker, maybe Luke tried to get her as far away from Kylo as possible when he killed all the new Jedi.

The movie is showing here for the last time on Sunday, for half price. I may go, or I may not. We shall see! Axel, just wanna say I totally agree with your spoilered comment about Rey. My friend (who is on the 'she's REY-lated to both Obi-Wan and Anakin' bandwagon) came to the same conclusion! Kalyna (on phone so finding actual user names to tag is more difficult, sorry)- I heard that, too. I'm looking forward to seeing both Rey and Kylo develop as characters- and the others too, of course, but We all know by now that Rey is the Luke of this gen! For my part, I've just been watching a lot of Clone Wars lately. I mean I'm only on season two buuut... Brain Invaders is one of my favourite episodes of anything ever right now. xD

I liked the first Clone Wars series better than the second, but the second one got real good when Cad Bane appeared. I still wish Disney hadn't retconned out the first Clone Wars series from existence, that means Grievous was never a totally awesome engine of destruction in the true continuity now I bet it was licensing disagreements with Cartoon Network, though. This isn't canon anymore

I still wish Disney hadn't retconned out the first Clone Wars series from existence, that means Grievous was never a totally awesome engine of destruction in the true continuity now I bet it was licensing disagreements with Cartoon Network, though. This isn't canon anymore So far Grievous largely spouts a lot of exposition and yells at droids, so I am a little underwhelmed yeah. I will admit that his spider-like four-legged run is pretty cool though, and he still looks neat in a fight! Regardless, I really adore this show. There are so many stupidly likeable Jedi that I can no longer confidently single out my favourite, and ditto for the clones (even if only two get a lot of screen time, thus far anyway). Plus, there are fun stories and weightier ones, I can take my pick based on my mood when rewatching and that is nice too. That scene you just linked is the whole reason Grievous is my friend's favourite Star Wars antagonist, haha. :-P

So I got to meet Kylo Ren yesterday at Hollywood Studios. It was pretty epic =D It would have been even better if I had brought my Organization XIII cloak, then I'd LOOK kinda like a dark side user to go with the Lightsaber I built yesterday.

Sorry if that's a bit rude =( Also, if you're wondering why I was hacking everything to bits, it's because The Force Awakens didn't win ANY of the Oscars it was nominated for... Including best visual effects. *continues slashing random computers to bits*

Also, if you're wondering why I was hacking everything to bits, it's because The Force Awakens didn't win ANY of the Oscars it was nominated for... Including best visual effects. *continues slashing random computers to bits* I thought it was because you had a sudden whim to channel Kylo Ren There are still two more films left in the trilogy. Plenty of chances yet. *crosses fingers*

Aww, didn't it? That's a shame- I haven't enjoyed a new movie so much in quite a while. Not since I went to see The LEGO Movie two years back, I believe!
Meeting characters sounds like much coolnessnessness, but the fact that you built a lightsaber makes me especially super happy. xD That's awesome!
