Charity Corner 2k15This year's Charity Corner is now live! Granny Hopbobbin is collecting books, clothing, and school supplies. Get clearing those SDBs out (and pat yourselves on the back if you were selling inflated r90 plushies heh) Do you think we'll get more specific challenges like last winter? There doesn't seem to be one up now. edit, for those who don't feel like reading the entire thread: - JN's Guide (may contain spoilers) a more detailed guide to what is being looked for and what prizes you can win - For other cheap easy donate-able items, check your AC prize points. Kau Sorceress Sandals are r92 and in the Altador Cup X prize shop for 70 points apiece.

My first thought was that it was unusually early before realizing that it was for back to school. Timing's a bit off though, as the first day of school was a couple of weeks ago (at least, in Canada/North America).

Yeah it was a month ago here. They should have done candy and clothes for a Halloween theme, but eh, it's still nice to have something (:

*sigh* Well those Plushies I've been saving are useless... BUT I as also saving everything else so I have a few r90+ books as well. In addition I was able to buy a whole batch before they got above 1k. Now do I wait till they're expensive and sell them or try donating myself... (oh don't look at me like that, you were probably thinking of doing the same thing in the back of your mind...)
But that said, I do give kudos to JS for thinking something somewhat original. Sure its still Charity Corner but it's for back and school and asking for different kind of supplies. Maybe if she also does the request thing they'd also make sure not to be specific but rather allow for a wide assortment of items to be an "answer".

Maybe if she also does the request thing they'd also make sure not to be specific but rather allow for a wide assortment of items to be an "answer". I only donated once in case there's a participation prize later on, but I feel like if the books/school supplies/clothes were to skyrocket to, like, 20k later on, I'd much rather hoard the items now for 1k. In the long run, your margin of profit would be much greater. If the probability of receiving a specific R90+ item is the same for all R90+ items (that is, the probability of selecting Xi from a set {X1, X2,...,XN} where N=the total number of R90+ items is the same for any i in 1 to N... sorry, the stats monster in me just came out), then the probability of actually getting an unbuyable R90+ item wouldn't be that high, and you'd probably have to donate dozens of times to get a few. But it's no fun without a bit of gambling, amirite? (Of course, if you already have R90+ items just sitting in your SDB waiting to be used, GO USE THEM! GOGOGOGO!)

I dunno, Carolyn. One word for you, though - inflation. I got something that's easily over 1 mil, though!

Oh boo. :/ I spent 100k for nothing. What are the cheapest r90s? Think right now the brightvale books are the cheapest of the bunch. I'd head to the jellyneo database to see which ones are "cheapest".

I bought up a lot of the Brightvale books personally. I got like one good thing so far x_o
This event kind of demonstrates how scary gambling is to me. I had like 150 r90+ books before the event started and it seems like I went through all of them in a matter of seconds...

Thanks for the help! I'm buying up a storm in preparation. If anything, this will lower the stamp costs again, soooo yay? Actually, are there any dailies that give away r90 items?

Let's see: Wise Old King can reward you one of the Brightvale books. I think Coltzan's Shrine can give you a Desert Scroll. Realm of the Water Faerie is a BD prize in Dome of the Deep. I think Grave Danger can give you a Neovian Press book. Moon Dust Scroll I think is a Lunar Temple prize. And I think that's it.

There's also the Wheel of Knowledge, which gives out books, but I'm not sure if r90+ books can be given out.
