((Should we go back to Ira and glyph now?)) ((How long should I write the scene for? Unless Ira wakes up as soon as they arrive she'll be drugged again very soon.))

I dunno how long you wanted it to be, but I was contemplating bringing someone else in either here or the square, maybe the square but I say do what you want to do))

Ollie flew in silence, leaning different directions to avoid chimneys, antennas, birds, and other obstacles. Luke put his scarf back with one hand, then seemed content to simply look down over the side. They flew out of the city to the edges of the dark forest, landing behind shrubberies. On the other side there were apple trees.Ollie: Sorry, this is the only orchard I actually know where to find. I hear the apples are really good, if you can get one.The line of trees before them bore bright, red apples, untouched by the wildlife. A curious young bird landed on the branch of one tree, and was quickly swatted by the tree. Stunned, the bird landed on the ground, where the roots of the tree roses up and dragged the bird into the dirt. This was accompanied by the sound of small bones crunching.

Luke: Smart tree... smart. *he coughs* His voice wasn't improved at all by the water.

Luke stood stock still, and something shifted under the scarf at his neck. After a moment, something like a thin, yellow spaghetti noodle slunk through the folds of his scarf. It extended up to the tree, slowly, tentatively making a beeline for the nearest Apple, keeping away from the bark of the tree.

The tree did not react. It extended, close to the nearest apple, holding still there while two more of the same thin extensions did the same to two more apples. After Luke was satisfied, they all closed in on the apples at once. burrowing into them and it seemed as if they were being sucked dry as they shriveled up rapidly. He quickly pulled them back in to himself.

It waved its branches around as through feeling for the culprit.

The tree thrashed its branches now, agitated as three more shriveled apples fell to the ground.Ollie: If you're still hungry you might want to pick from a different tree.
