Whee, more tie delays! xD I will also need to start putting down a definite schedule. I would like to start sometime this month, perhaps towards the end of August, but anyone have preferences concerning when? Given that a number of us are in secondary or post-secondary school which starts either right about now or in early September--and given the amount of chaos that's usually involved just beforehand and in the first week--I think something like mid-late August would work best, but going right to the end of the month would maybe be pushing it for some people's schedules.

Yeah, I think that's a good point. The back-to-school thing is the main reason I'm asking, since I know I'm starting this right around when that starts and that it might run into school-start time. Shooting for around mid-late August sounds good to me, but if anyone has objections to this, let me know. Otherwise, I'll start scheduling soon or put up a tentative schedule. Also, I went ahead and put up the list of themes in the first post, in the order in which the themes will come. When the tie is broken, the fourth theme will be replaced with the confirmed theme.

The tie is (barely) broken. The winner of the tie-breaker is Comics/Webcomics. The final list of themes have been updated on the first post.
Would anyone object to a start date of August 20th?

Okay this has been sorta bugging me for a while, and I feel like an absolute moron since apparently this category was popular enough that I'm the only one who doesn't really get it but... how is "impersonate another forumer" going to work exactly? ^^; Do we just change our icon, or do we dress up our whole profile? Do we have to plan who we're impersonating before the spirit weeks even start so we can snag the icon before the person we're pretending to be changes to the spirit week themes? And won't that be extremely confusing trying to tell who's who?

And won't that be extremely confusing trying to tell who's who? Come to think of it I'm not certain myself, but I'm guessing it would be a good idea to start planning now. xD As for confusion, there's always the rank (if you're not picky about who you select), custom title (unless you ask to get that changed for the day of), badges (unless you have super similar forum activity), post count (not easy to pick out, but possible orders of magnitude difference), and username (immutable). And I figure, like most Spirit Weeks, it's "to whatever degree you want", meaning it could range from just display name, to avatar, to signature, to posting habits. (that's one of the reasons, for example, that I could not impersonate Liou if I tried, because I would want to be as convincing as possible, and even though we have the same rank I do not have a suitable supply of gifs)

I'll probably just borrow someone's name and avvie and imitate them terribly. xD ShinkoDon't forget, it said you can impersonate multiple! So you could blend six avatars into a heinous mess. Have a mish-mash display name. Have a "latest status" which states that "Phoenixes are better than you". EDIT: And if anyone decides they want to imitate me. I mean, I don't mind either way. But I'm MUCH more fond of my normal avatar than my current one. =P images.neopets.com/nt/ntimages/429_vira.gif

ShinkoDon't forget, it said you can impersonate multiple! Ummmm... Where does "it" say that? O.o;;;; I looked over the entire thread and the only instructions for Impersonate a Forumer are "ask first."

It says you can imitate multiple in the topic list on the first post. Also on the poll. It goes "Impersonate a Forumer (or more!)" which means you can impersonate multiple at once.
The event is basically borrowing aspects of other peoples' profiles and putting them on your own. You can change as much or as little about your profile as you want.
(Though for the sake of clearing up confusion, I may add a rule where you're required to put your real forum name somewhere on your profile, such as your signature or in your name in parentheses.)

Actually, that's not be a bad idea, considering that with recent roleplaying games such as the recently ended the Town and Mafia, participants actually put their actual name in parenthesis letting other forumers know who they actually are. That definitely made things easier to communicate, especially if someone was looking for a specific forumer

Yeah, in due time, I'll mention it.
I should also mention that I've thought more about the theme ordering and I'm considering putting the Impersonate a Forumer theme first. This is because it'll be easier to find things about another's profile to impersonate when others' profiles are not already changed.
If this goes through, the themes above where that theme was will be bumped down by one.

Might also help if Town has ended by then, since a good 70% of the active forumers are dressed up for that still. If not, the town people might do like Thorn did and place their usual/most recent avatar somewhere that it can be borrowed, if they're up for letting people mimic them.

Yeah, the Town is going to end soon. I haven't picked an exact date, but I probably should soon. If need be, I can push back the start time for Spirit Weeks to give more people time to switch back, but if I do, I won't do it by more than a few days. Placing someone's usual profile details somewhere is also a good solution, if people are willing to do that.

I have updated the list with the reorder such that the Impersonate a Forumer (or more) event goes first.
I have also updated the guidelines to that theme in the first post.

I've decided to put the official start time for Spirit Weeks on Saturday, August 22nd, at 12:01am. Each theme will last for about 3 days. The schedule has been updated to reflect the changes. Hopefully this gives everyone enough time to prepare for the first round of Spirit Weeks. Now's the time to look at others' profiles and ask people for permission to borrow elements from theirs for the first stage of Spirit Weeks. For the record, I'll allow most people to use elements of my profile, but I prefer if people ask me first. I'll keep the details of my profile on a post in my diary so people who have permission can mimic it accordingly, even if they're late to starting.
