Past 3 day results for MSN (Team Kiko Lake): 27, 28, 31. Cripes, JSN really needs to do something about those absolutely ridiculous scores because at the rate that score's going up, it'll probably hit 60 by the end of the tournament.

Likely impossible but I'm half-hoping for a bug that messes up scoring because TNT didn't expect the score to be that high and "forgot" to account for super-high scores somewhere in the code.

Staff Tournament is now live, 17 hours after it was supposed to be. This is also the first chance we get to see JSN art (or at least, one that's noticeable). Strangely, some of JSN looks similar to past members of TNT, whether it's Cherry Blossom to Comastar, Rookie to Undutchable, or Dark Lord to El Picklesaur.
EDIT: Taking a closer look, it's painfully obvious that it was essentially, a cut, copy and paste, hence why some staff members look vaguely familiar, though some are not as obvious. Why am I not surprised by this?

I made the exact same picks for the simple reason that those 5 have played in the Staff Tournament before, so they're known quantities. 2. The only "taping the new guy's face over the old guy" I noticed was Dark Lord/El Picklesaur but now that you mention it, some of the others do look similar. (Although I guess we should be thankful they didn't insult our intelligence by trying to put Hip Hop Queen's head on Snarkie's body) |

It's not that I don't think they can't play well, I just don't know if they will at first. I have a "theory" that at first the new JS Staff is going to submit low scores not thinking they'll need to play a lot. Then after the first round results they'll see the old TNT scoring higher and realize that they do need to be sending higher scores so that's when we'll see what they (or at least those who checked the scores) can really do. It's a naive theory I'll admit, however I'm also open to swapping in any JS staff that shows they're a high scorer after 2 Rounds (its my tradition to keep the team I made for 2 rounds to let all the TNT staff get a stable hold on their playing, to see if there's improvements which may mean switching to someone in the later rounds, and to make sure any high scores in the first round isn't just a fluke). 2. Oh wow, I was going to make a list of the head pasting JS did... when I realized TNT weren't innocent of it either! I preset to you the copy & paste jobs throughout the Altador Cup: NOTE: As long as its the same player I'm ignoring them recoloring the uniform, this is about them taking art for another player and slapping someones else head on it: El Pickelsaur & Dark Lord   DJ Skellington & Comastar (not the whole body, but her arms and Sling are the same as his when she was on Haunted Woods and then Brightvale)    Night Owl & Comastar (THEN when Comastar was put on Darigan Citadel she took over Night Owl's entire body)   Snowbunny, Ziggytron, & Binary Supagoo    Soup Faerie, Pie, Marketing Maggie & Country Queen      Mr. Roboto, Undutchable, V-Man, & Rookie (there seems to be some slight differences between the uniforms. Undutchable & Rookie only have one orange stripe on their shoulder guard sash. Only V-Man's shirt and Sling arm is the same (though his shirt has a purple v-neck added). However overall their body is the same)     Viola & EhLo FrOyo (however I give JS credit for doing a nice changing it from a Krawk Island uniform to a Maraqua uniform)    Dirigibles & The Anvil (While not completely the same since Anvil has a bigger body, they recycled the pose and some of the assets like the sash and Sling. And yes Kid Hawk shares the same Sling but not much else)   Twitterpate & Ninjakins (they also share the Sling arms with Subordinate Prime but nothing else) ![]()   Socktastic & Droplet   LornaDesparow, Blitzkrieg & Drama Queen (they also reused the arms from Dom Dread, but nothing else)    Mr. Insane & FireFly (they I'll give them credit to making the skin tone match, but still the same body)   So it would seem like despite us saying they copy and pasted head not only did TNT do the same but from what I can tell Rain, Cherry Blossom, KikoCat, and Hip-Hop Queen do have new bodies. At first I thought they might have done what they did with EhLo FrOyo but I could find no female staff members who's body art matches there (and I think it was pretty clear Rain was new). So, why is it that the JS team stand out to us? Well, one quick look told me why they stood out: their heads are too realistic! TNT artists were consistent with their style so when they did swap heads at least the heads looked like they matched. However the new artists had made the heads of the new JS staff too realistic with the lighting, shadowing, wrinkles, & detailed noses and mouths that it just looks off on the cartoony body they put them on (which even with the new bodies they kept a sort of cartoony style to). I guess this is just once again JS trying to imitate TNT's work and once again getting close but not exact and it creates a sort of uncanny visual to those familiar with TNT art. So A for effort JS, but a B on work done. You're almost there, but I think your artists just need to look through old TNT art and try to learn their style from it. |

Duke Pikachu- Well, some of the recycled bodies don't work quite as well with the new heads, such as Mr. Insane's one, which makes it even more noticeable. And while I did go with the old staff, I ended up bucking the trend with Ninjakins replacing DJ Skellington

I went with DJ Skellington, Cherry Blossom (cause who doesn't love coffee and 2nd breakfast. Eventually I hope she decides Borovan better but she is foreign, I am sure she will learn), Droplet, Bancha Ninja, and Binary Supagoo.
