This is probably unrelated to the board topic but does anyone have trouble accessing the NC mall (Qasalan Expellibox included)?
Any part of the NC Mall I click into, it'll show me someone else's account (username and Neopoints on hand, others are not accessible) and states that I have to clarify my gender before I could use that part of the site.
I really don't want to be banned for going into a different person's account when it's not my doing. So far, I've already seen the amount of two people's NPs on hand and it worries me.

Yeah that's because of the new 'Other' option they added. The Mall hasn't been updated to recognise the third option so is assuming everyone, regardless of gender, hasn't entered a gender at signup - and the Mall is set up to block anyone who hasn't fully signed up.

So JS announced they'll be doing a password reset as a result of a hack in 2012: If this password reset thing will require a valid e-mail address... I haven't touched the e-mail my Neopets account is associated with for ages ^^"

I haven't touched the e-mail my Neopets account is associated with for ages ^^" Than you might want to change it to one that you do use (which you should do anyway, the email attached to your account should be one you're actively using). Anyway, if JS planned smart, they would send everyone who've been affected a neomail telling them to check if their account's email is one that they're using, if not change it to one they do, and then click a link in the neomail that'll reset their password (and log them out) and send the new password to their email.

This week's editorial was really good. Relevant questions, clear answers, not treating us like we're all children (while there are kids on Neopets, I would wager that less than 5% of the site's under-13 users read the editorial on a weekly basis). None of the information was ground-breaking, it was nice to see the 'but can more UCs be created if you do THIS' questions quashed, and the data breach mentioned again.
While the editorial being our only means of asking questions to the entire Neopets Team isn't ideal, it's still nice that CQ is aware of this and is addressing legitimate concerns regularly.

Alright, I think this is the right place to put it, I think these should be here (I saw these on Jellyneo first, I definitely did not find these first). There is an article about how Neo-accounts were hacked. The article explains it much better than I ever could. On a lighter note, there is also an interview with Alison Lord, also known as Country Queen - our NT editor (again, this was on Jellyneo first). Have to say, it was pretty interesting.

I wouldn't say it was quashed, really - CQ gave a bunch of reasons that amount to 'JS doesn't have the manpower to do it' and concluded it was impossible from a technical standpoint, somehow. UCs exist, so we know they can exist. Pets exist with layers that are blank, so we know that can happen (i.e. all the UC art in one layer and the rest of the layers blank). Pets with special body types exist. Features that remove the need for a unique paintbrush for all instances exist (magma pool). It's work beyond JS currently, sure, but it's not impossible to do.

I would like to add that this Editorial addressed the question of "why can't we customize UCs" or "why can't we make new combinations UC", rather than "why can't we de-convert pets" which seems to be the more common complaint (even if the referenced question did phrase it ambiguously); in theory, it doesn't seem like it would be too big of a deal to, say, create an item that does the opposite of what happens when you convert a pet, since evidently there is some check that says how a pet is UC (as it warned the user all over the site if you might have converted a pet, even in the early days of customization). But even old TNT said "we just don't want to" abundantly clearly many times over, so that's probably a more straightforward answer than "it doesn't work technically".

ReiquaIn some cases the special thing about UCs is they look better than their converted counterpart. Like with Lutaris.

So I guess upon Trudy's Surprise constantly popping up in the faces of the JS Staff while they're trying to play the AC Staff Tournament they realized how intrusive Trudy's Surprise is and decided maybe they should make it a daily like it should have been in the first place other freebies which are meant to attract players to keep coming back Daily. So what you need to know: 1. This is the new link, to play Trudy's Surprise you need to go to it: www.neopets.com/trudys_surprise.phtml2. It'll reset at the turn of the new day (00:00:00 NST) instead of requiring you to wait 24 hours. While I appreciate these changes at the same time I do have some nitpicks: 1. The page is just the Trudy's Surprise and nothing else. No flavor text, no additional images, just Trudy's Surprise. They wrote a backstory for Trudy's Surprise, why not also include it on the page? 2. What was wrong with making us wait for 24 hours? If the point of Trudy's Surprise was to make us make sure to visit Neopets frequently then requiring us to visit around the last time we used it makes sense. Convenience-wise it's nice it resets at the new day as I can just do it with the rest of my Dailies, but what for JS wanted it to do this sort of takes a back step. Honestly I think if they just moved it to its own page and just having a Random Event appearing saying Trudy's Surprise suddenly appeared with a link to Trudy's Surprise would have done what they wanted and be less intrusive (and if they're worried about you not getting it he first time they can have the RE appear every 30 minutes until you spin it). Also maybe a place on a map would be nice too, like Neopian Plaza looks to have plenty of room. 3. Still doesn't solve the issue of it giving out a lot of NP (or 100k as long as your played it 25 days in a row no matter what result you get... which is now easier as it resets on the turn of the new day).
