"That's not the problem. I tried to fight him alongside Darigan and my friends, but he overpowered all six of us. The only reason my friends and I escaped was because Darigan bought us some time." He sighed. "I wasn't strong enough to stop Kass from killing my father, and I'm not strong enough to stop Claudus from killing Darigan." He looked back. "Wait... I think I hear a familiar voice."
Bones stirred from his sleep. "Alright, who jes' woke me - ah, I didn't expect ye to be here, lass."
Miraja rolled her eyes. "Nice to see you, too. Is Hunter here?"
Bones nodded. "Yeah, he's in there with some 'human,' whatever those are."
A Striped Xweetok dressed in ninja garb walked in and hugged Hunter. "You okay?"
Hunter smiled a bit. "Yes, Athena here's helping me out. She's teaching me how to cope with Darigan's death."
Miraja sat down. "I get it. We could all use some help, if Sirocco and Ashlynne manage to get here. I'll stay in here with you, Hunter."

Hunter sighed. "I need to stop blaming myself for everything. I just feel that I failed Darigan, and I'm beating myself up over it."

Well, I guess the first thing is learning to accept that sometimes things just don't go the way you want them to. Maybe things could have been better, and you can always come up with all sorts of solutions in hindsight... but you can't change the past, you know? ...I mean, unless you went back in time or something, which I guess some people can do here, but then you end up with weird time loops and, um... nevermind, that's beside the point.  I guess what I'm saying is, you shouldn't beat yourself up over it. I doubt he would have wanted you to. |

"WATCH IT, BUSTER!" Miraja bared her teeth, exposing her surprisingly sharp canines before looking back at Athena. A drop of sweat fell down the side of her face as she scratched the back of her head. "Ehehe, sorry about that... You see what I mean?" |
