It was the December of 1316; Morgaine Braham and her son Sieg had been plotting. So much had changed for them since that summer of 1314. They'd made new friends, reforged old relationships, and triumphed over many obstacles. And what better way to celebrate the holiday season than to show their appreciation for all the people who had helped them over the past two years? It was with the somewhat bemused aid of Ilsa Wright, the proprietor of the King's Arms, that they'd set their plan in motion. They wouldn't tell her why they wanted her to invite a rather large selection of people to the King's Arms, just insisted that she play along- she'd eventually relented, not at all loathe for an excuse to have a party. All of Morgaine and Sieg's friends were encouraged to come on the appointed date, and invited to bring along whatever additional people they liked, because the more the merrier right? Meanwhile, with the help of Rosalie, their only fully fledged and fully informed co-conspirator, Morgaine and Sieg practiced and rehearsed in preparation for the big day. When finally that day arrived, the two of them arrived at the inn an hour early to set themselves up. They'd helped Ilsa to deck out the inn in full Woomas spirit, and now they just had to change into their costumes- a bright red, hooded fur-lined cloak for Morgaine, and a pale blue jacket and a hat with an enormous white feather for Sieg. They darted upstairs to hide until all the guests had arrived, waiting for the agreed upon signal from Ilsa to descend and greet their friends. When finally they headed down the stairs to the general buzz of conversation, Sieg took a deep breath, and stepped out of the staircase pitching his voice as loud and as far as his vocal and military training would allow. " Deck the halls with boughs of holly It's the season to be jolly And be thankful for all that we have~" Morgaine followed him out, taking the reigns. " All the lights and decorations Put up in the anticipation Of the joyful celebration That's on its way" The two of them joined hands, and in carefully rehearsed harmony, sang out. " We're counting the days 'Til it's time for Woomas day!
Oh and Woo bless us everyone The good and the bad The happy; the sad Oh and Woo bless us everyone Here's to family and friends It's good to be here again!" The two of them finished off the song, and Sieg gave a theatrical bow, doffing his cap. Morgaine gave an equally theatrical curtsey, and the locksmith spoke up, "Heyla, everyone! You in the mood for a party? Because I am! So what do you say? Let's party!" Morgaine and Sieg have lured all of their friends and acquaintances to the King's Arms to serenade them with Woomas Carols and generally have a fun holiday party! Anybody, I repeat ABSOLUTELY ANYBODY who took part in the Medieval forum even is welcome to attend! To those who's characters don't live in Medieville, feel free to contrive a reason your character is here anyway! (Visiting relatives for the holidays perhaps?)

Joffery loved visiting Medieville. Hope got to see her family again, and he got a chance to visit the friends living there. It was always such a joyful time, especially when it was coupled with the Woomas season. Such fun, he thought to himself! They could exchange gifts and drink warm cider and sing carols... a perfect opportunity to spend time with his new family! And speaking of new family... Joffery smiled warmly at the baby resting peacefully in Hope's arms. This would be his infant son's first Woomas. Yes, this was a most wondrous time, indeed. Jeniver, on the other hand, hadn't been to Medieville since Joffery's wedding. Normally she wouldn't be too keen to go—her first trip to Medieville had been... rocky, at best. But ultimately she was won over by the prospect of seeing friends she hadn't seen in a while. She heard that Lucinda might be there, too, which excited her. (Her parents took some convincing, but Joffery was able to convince them that he would keep her safe. Xavier and Master Leif would be there too, of course, which was thankfully enough to pacify them.) When they heard that there was a gathering at the King's Arms, they decided to drop by. It sounded like all their Medieville friends would be there, so why not come to visit? The place was decorated festively, filled with a friendly, cheerful atmosphere. Joffery had already been enjoying himself by the time that Morgaine and Sieg showed up and started singing Woomas carols. Singing! What a joyous occasion, indeed! "How wonderful! What an excellent rendition of a Woomas classic," he remarked, applauding their performance. "Oh, I do love Woomas parties." "Yeah!" Jeniver agreed, looking around the room to see who else was there. Hopefully there would be some familiar faces. Joffery and Hope ( Lizzie) go to Medieville to visit family, bringing along Jeniver and an adorable baby. Then they go to the party because whoo, parties!

The message had come for him one morning in late October; come the winter, Stallion Manor was going to have two visitors from Destrier staying over winter, including Woomas. As soon as he had read that, a large smile had broken out across Ambrose's face. It was hardly that he was alone in winter, let alone Woomas, there were many people in Medieville he could call his friends and plenty for him to do to meet people. But Lucinda and Alain, especially Alain, were his family. Spending the time with them was all the more special. Of course, immediately, the presence of Alain had raised a lot of small but nagging questions in Ambrose's mind. For one thing, there was no way that Alain was just visiting because he was accompanying Lucinda and wanted to see Ambrose as the message claimed. No, his brother's motives were never so simple and hardly ever that sentimental. And who was going to look after Bern while Alain was gone for the entire winter? He would not neglect it just to see his brother. Duty had always come first. But the single answer to both questions had appeared in Ambrose's mind shortly: Isabelle. Of course, Alain had left Bern in her hands during the coronation, then again during the wedding of Joffery and Hope, and any subsequent visits he had to make to the capital or otherwise. It only made that he would give her the ultimate test, managing Bern in winter, under such a pretext. Despite himself, Ambrose could not help but give a knowing smile to himself. That was so much like his brother. Regardless of how or why they were coming down, one thing Ambrose knew for certain he was going to be happy to see them. He loved Medieville but it would be a lie to say he did not miss either of them. This winter was going to be so much better with his great-niece and his older brother around. So he waited. And come late November, when they arrived, Ambrose was there to greet them. Seeing them in person when he had thought before he would have only seen them next summer, just made him realise how glad he was they had come to visit. That was not something he made much of a secret of, but in fairness neither did they. There were many hugs to be had from Lucinda, which Ambrose was more than happy to receive and return. From Alain, all he had got was a smile but it had been enough. He had known his brother long enough to have learned that a genuine smile from Alain meant more than words ever did. And so winter had set in for all of them. Woomas approached and even the Manor acquired some decoration, thanks in no small part to Kirin. With it came the second unexpected message of the year for Ambrose. “A party at the King’s Arms?” Alain put the letter down on the table and looked up at where Ambrose was sitting opposite him. A fire burned brightly in the grate beside them. “It certainly sounds interesting.” “Vague but...I get the impression the host or hosts want to keep its nature a surprise,” Ambrose nodded, looking over the letter again. “But that close to Woomas, it can’t be much else,” Alain smirked. “Can you think of who it could be?” “Ms Wright, possibly, she’s close to Xavier and it is her inn. Plus Kirin knows her and he got a separate invitation. But she doesn’t strike me as the type to do something like this,” Ambrose furrowed his brow, trying to think. Alain took the invitation again but put it down almost immediately, a smile playing on his face. “Only one way to find out who it is.” “Do you want to go?” Ambrose asked, raising his eyebrows. “Why not? It could be interesting, and I am curious to see who would host such a party,” Alain looked straight up at Ambrose. “But the invitation is for you. Do you want to go, little brother? How comfortable are you with such things now?” “You can’t have a job like mine and not be comfortable with large gatherings, Alain,” Ambrose replied with a slight smile. “There’s a difference between wanting something and being able to do something,” his brother gave him an expectant look, silently waiting for the answer he was looking for. Ambrose lowered his head. “I still feel nervous. But we’re not going to be amongst strangers, these people clearly know me and...everything there is to know,” he shrugged. A warm smile appeared on his face. “And I do like spending time with people who accept me and care for me.” Alain could not help but smile back. Even though it had been a few years since the day, the change in his little brother’s circumstances and outlook still made him happy. He leaned back in his chair “Shall we take Lucinda with us then? She might enjoy this,” he asked. Ambrose gave him a surprised look and chuckled. “I haven’t even extended the invitation out to you yet, Alain.” “I thought that was a given,” Alain grinned. “You would not leave your brother behind, would you?” “Of course not,” Ambrose shook his head. “But you could at least ask me.” “Why, when I know what the answer is already going to be?” Alain laughed. “You should know me by now, little brother. I certainly know you well.” “You really do,” Ambrose sighed but he could not be angry at Alain. He had even not entertained the thought of leaving him behind. “And I think we should bring Lucinda. She’ll definitely enjoy this.” So it was that on the appointed day, the Stallions came to the King’s Arms, not really knowing what to expect. But it appeared they were far from the only ones who had been invited by their mysterious hosts, who had also gone all out in decorating. Shortly, however, the question of who they were was resolved, quite noticeably. Both brothers smiled widely when Morgaine and Sieg came down the stairs, dressed up in their finery singing Woomas songs. They exchanged a look but did not say anything while the song was sung. Only when it was over did both of them start clapping. “So much for that mystery,” Ambrose said quietly, to which Alain nodded in reply. Once Sieg and Morgaine had declared the party open, both had gotten up from their seats and went to speak with their no-longer-unknown hosts. “Thank you for the invitation,” Ambrose said, smiling and bowing his head to them. “I was not sure what I was expecting but not...this.” “Though the carols should be no surprise,” Alain smirked at Sieg, “Given some of your exploits in Bern last year.” Alain and Lucinda( Kristykimmy) visit Ambrose for the winter, for various reasons, and Ambrose receives the invitation. Alain tags along, because of course he does, and they take Lucinda along with them to the party, where party things happen. They go over to speak to Sieg and Morgaine( Shinko).

Lucinda had been surprised when the subject of leaving Destrier for the winter had come up, but she had agreed. She understood that Alain was leaving Isabelle in charge to train her for the day when she would take his place, a day she was sure they both prayed was still far in the future. They had departed in November and traveled to Medieville. She had not been able to restrain her happiness at seeing Ambrose and Kirin again. Settling in for the winter was easy enough, though Lucinda found herself surprised at what seemed like a lack of snow. Living her life in the colder parts of the kingdom had conditioned her to seeing mountains of snow as a normal part of life. She wasn't sure what was to occur when she was asked to accompany her grandfather and great-uncle to a party at the King's Inn, but she agreed to go. She had mostly chased away the nightmares of the place in the years since the events surround the bloody coronation, and she wanted to ask Ilsa how the kitten she had given her was thriving. She arrived there at the appointed time with Alain and Ambrose and stayed among their party until after Morgaine and Sieg had performed their duet. It was then that she noticed the Jade party, with Jeniver among their number. She had last seen her briefly during Hope's wedding and she had missed her. She made her way across the crowed room to the Jades. “Jeniver!” she called as she made her way up to her. “I've missed you.” Lucinda goes to Medieville with Alain and attends the Woomas party with him and Ambrose. She makes her way to the Jades to catch up with Jeniver. ( PFA)

When Elin and Clare received their invitations, they had a suspicion that something was up. With Ilsa's fondness for parties and it currently being one of the 12 days of Woomas, they expected something lighthearted. They also figured it'd be a nice break from their work, since there was one day where they were hard at work preparing meat for the feasts around the capital. Woomas could sometimes be a busy time for them, but when they saw the results of their labor, their spirits were heartened; it was always worth it. The Ryers closed shop early so that they could travel to the inn for the occasion, and they both sat at the bar, both so that Clare could chat with Ilsa and so that Elin could sit with Xavier. Clare, however, was surprised at the absence of Morgaine Braham; she figured this would be her kind of party. Before Clare could mention her absence, they suddenly heard the sound of singing on the stairs, and the Ryers turned their head to watch the caroling, and the announcement of the party. Elin applauded while Clare did the same while letting out a laugh. "Of course, I should've guessed!" Clare said, amused. "Well done, Morgaine." Elin smiled. "Well, we figured it'd be a party," she pointed out. "I just thought Ilsa was the one throwing it." She shrugged. "Then again, she helped too." "That she did," Clare agreed. "Wish I could sing along without sounding horrible." "You don't sound that bad, Auntie," Elin said. "Eh, I'm not great either," Clare said, waving a hand. "You're better than me, at least." "...Mm, I don't know, not by much. I don't really sing unless you count humming." "That's something," Clare said. "Hey, if nothing else, you could use your magic." Elin shook her head. "I've tried, and it kind of helps, but it still doesn't make me a great singer." "Still a better one," Clare said. "Not that you should use it too much. No point making yourself sick from it just for Woomas." "I know, I know," Elin said. "I won't." "Great," Clare said. She looked over to the counter and waved Ilsa over. "Elin, do you want anything to drink?" "Oh, no, not right now," Elin said. "Are you sure? I heard they just got a shipment of really nice--" " No," Elin said firmly before she caught herself. "...No, not right now." Clare frowned. "Elin, that was months ago. And it wasn't your fault." "I know," Elin sighed. "But still. No point in making myself sick from that either. Not on a day like this." Clare sighed. While she could certainly understand where Elin was coming from, and while the girl's hangovers were certainly pitiable, Clare couldn't help but feel that Elin was missing out. Ever since the day the Lyellian performers came to the city during the last spring, Elin had been fairly avoidant of alcohol. When she did drink, she drank carefully, and never anything too strong. Clare wasn't sure if Elin was even getting a buzz from it, even though she was sure that that wouldn't bring what Elin was really worried about. "Well, I'm having something," Clare said. "And then I think I'll go talk to Morgaine once they're done talking to her and her son." She gestured towards Ambrose and Alain. Elin nodded. "Alright. Just don't get too sick either. Not a good thing to be on Woomas." "Don't worry Elin; I'll be fine," Clare said. As Clare said this, Elin turned in her seat and looked out into the crowd, looking for any familiar faces that she might want to talk to or any interesting thing that might be going on. While she saw some familiar faces, as well as people she was surprised to see, she wanted to catch the general scene first. Elin and Clare have come to the party, happy for the break after the previous days of work. They chat for a bit before Clare orders a drink from Ilsa, deciding to talk to Morgaine once she receives it. Elin, meanwhile, is scanning the crowd for people she knows, and also any general shenanigans going on. ( Elcie, I left it vague where Xavier was, although I assumed he got up for something, but let me know if you'd like to change that. Where he is and how much of the conversation he hears is up to you.)

Leif hurried toward the King’s Arms, his teeth clenched against the sharp cold and in spite of the exertion of walking as quickly as he could from the church - without slipping on ice, anyway. He really should have gone to the earlier sermon, but it tended to be more crowded. Probably not as crowded as the average church in Corvus would have been, but Leif had always attended church services in more private places of worship in Solis and Raylier. Woomas was all about kinship and togetherness, of course, but it was also a time for bracing one’s self against the stresses of winter. Leif hoped Lord Woo would understand that, for this particular follower, the former had to come in small doses to ensure the later. Besides - there was this get-together at the King’s Arms. Kirin, Xavier, Lord Ambrose, Morgaine, and Sieg, at least, would be there, and Lord Joffery had seemed interested when he’d heard about the very mysterious event. Leif wasn’t sure who all else had been invited, and it was difficult to predict when he didn’t even know who had sent the invitations. Still, he didn’t think many of the other guests would be too far out of his social circle; it had to be someone Leif knew well, after all, to want him anywhere near any sort of party, and all of his friends seemed to know one another well. Hopefully he wasn’t running as late as he felt he was, but Leif knew he wasn’t exactly on time, either. Though he hesitated momentarily, he decided not to make himself even later by stopping at Marson Manor to change clothes. White cloak it would be, then, at least once he removed the thick, deep-green coat he felt like he practically lived in during the winter. Just a few years ago, he wouldn’t have thought twice about entering a place in white attire around Woomas - not everyone, not even Corvids, wore white every day of Woomas, but it was too much an ingrained habit from his childhood. After all, if he’d been a priest, he would have been wearing white every one of the twelve days, so there had been no reason for Leif’s parents and tutors to refrain from getting him into that habit. In Corvus, though, it was just a little odd - not anything like Medieville, where they didn’t fully celebrate all twelve days, or at least made modifications to them. It had been bizarre and a bit unsettling, Leif’s first Woomas here, seeing such a lack of the traditions he’d grown up with. Occasionally it had been implied - or maybe Leif had just felt like it had been implied - that he was overly-pious...not something a failed priest heard very often in Corvus. Not all the changes were bad ones, though, he had to admit. There were a lot of new and interesting sweets and candies and pastries to celebrate the breaking of the sugar fast (though Leif had noticed that some of the vendors had been selling these before the fast was supposed to break). Some of the decorations were different, too, a lot of them using of some of the branches of the trees they called “ever-greens”. And the snow, while awful in the way it made everything wet and cold did reflect the lights of the lanterns in an admittedly pretty and picturesque sort of way. Leif found a great deal of decoration in the inn as he finally made it inside, his breath misting out behind as he stepped into the warmth with a gusty sigh of relief. Someone - Ilsa, he figured - had been very busy preparing the place for Woomas. ...There were a lot of people here. Leif actually knew most of them, which, despite his expecting just that, did surprise him. He wasn’t sure he’d ever quite adjust to how suddenly he’d started making friends and acquaintances once Leif had eased back on his...prickliness. It looked like Morgaine and Sieg hadn’t made it yet, however - well, they had said they would be late. Almost automatically Leif looked around for Kirin, finding him quickly and waving slightly when he looked up. Leif made his way to the table and pulled up a seat beside the Stallion. “Hi. Sorry I’m late, I know I was supposed to get here earlier - the sermon went on a little long. And,” he added with a wry grin, “ you can’t just walk out of a Woomas sermon.” Pulling off his gloves and rubbing his hands together to try and warm up his fingers, he asked, “Any sign of who - “ Before he could finish the question...it was answered. In song. By Morgaine and Sieg. Well - of course. He clapped along with the rest of the crowd, realizing he should have known this was their doing. A surprise party with the intrigue of mysterious hosts and an unknown guest list - that was just the sort of thing Morgaine would enjoy plotting, and certainly Sieg wouldn’t mind participating. He glanced toward the Jade table, and sure enough, Joffery looked thrilled by this development. it looked like the Grand Duke and Lord Ambrose were going to take the first round of talking with their hosts. There would be plenty of time to talk to them later, Leif figured, and in the meantime he hadn’t really gotten a chance to talk with Kirin yet. Shaking his head as he turned back to the Stallion, Leif remarked, “I actually invited them to come along if they hadn’t gotten invitations - Mrs. Braham looked me right in the eye and acted as though she hadn’t heard a word about this party.” He shook his head. “Anyhow - how are you? I hope the roads were clear enough you could take carriages here instead of walk - it’s cold out there.” Leif gets to the inn while reflecting on the differences between Corvid and Medieville Woomas (if I've stepped on any headcanons or misspoke, lemme know), is amused at the identity of their hosts, and talks to Kirin. Good times! \ o /

The Brahams grinned and bowed at the applause, Morgaine casting a knowing smirk and a wink in Leif's direction. She had admittedly been quite tickled when the archmage took the "invite your friends" clause of the party invitations to ask the locksmith and her son along. Not an eventuality they'd planned for, and Sieg had been hard pressed to keep a straight face when Leif presented them with it, but they both appreciated the thought. Then the two Stallion brothers approached them. Sieg laughed outright at Alain's remark, shaking his head. "I hope profoundly that singing Woomas carols doesn't leave me feeling a magical Pull that a nonmage shouldn't have like the episode in Haflinger did. We had quite a few more rehearsed and it would be a shame to collapse in the middle." He bowed his head politely. "It's good to see you your grace, Ambrose." "We were worried your work with the king might keep you busy," Morgaine put in, smiling broadly. "Glad to see our concern was misplaced. I do apologize if it's not entirely up to the standards you two are used to in your castle in Destrier, but we hope that at least it's homey and the company of all of our friends can make up for the absence of a formal banquet sprawl or professional musicians." "I am willing to take a few requests though," Sieg put in with a smile. Glancing at Joffery and pitching his voice he added, "And anyone who likes is free to join in or take a turn singing." "Hopefully without needing to be lubricated too much to convince them to do it; after all it is the Day of Carols, neh? Wouldn't be a proper Twelve Days of Woomas without everyone singing to chase the winter doldrums away." Morgaine remarked. There was a mischievous glint in her eye as she added, "Though the subject of drunken ballads does remind me of a question I wanted to ask you, if I may your grace- I heard a story down the grapevine that you and Lord Everett were... shall we say, completely and utterly trashed, at the former King Starmey's wedding. Would you care to testify to the veracity of this claim?" Sieg blinked at his mother, his expression a study of blank astonishment. "He did what?" * * * * * ((I'll be posting for Kirin, with permission and aid from Killix))Kirin glanced around as Leif entered the room, his green eyes brightening and his face splitting in a wide smile. Before he could reply, or Leif could even finish his greeting, however, the Brahams interupted. When they finished the Stallion chuckled. "Looks like they're having fun." Turning his attention back to Leif, he cheerfully replied, "The roads aren't so bad. I think Lucinda was actually disappointed by how mild the snow's been. This is her first winter in Medieville. But if you're cold, Ilsa's selling this lovely mulled cider that's really tasty, and it'll warm you right up." He hefted a small steaming mug he was holding, which presumably held the sweet beverage in question. With a bashful grin he added, "It's not alcoholic, I checked. Wasn't in a hurry to repeat what happened last spring." Morgaine and Sieg make small talk with the Stallionbros ( Celestial) and Sieg tries to beckon Joffery ( PFA) to come join the singing. Morgaine then asks Alain a wonderful question about certain events that would be fun for Ambrose and Joff to learn about. ;3 Also Kirin is cute and talks to Leif ( Tiger)

When he'd received an invitation to a party at the King's Arms' Inn, Laurie had been honoured. The last Woomas season had been his best so far, now that his family was finally doing better and had more friends to trust. It made the traditions of Woomas suddenly more important and enjoyable to him. He had put in a burst of speed at work, sewing pieces and sorting materials with enough energy to impress the masters and earn him days off for Woomas. He wasn't needed as much for the custom orders, anyway, and those would be the ones in demand over Woomas. Laurie had taken advantage of that to spend a few days at the old Kidde home with his sisters, preparing a better dinner than they had enjoyed in years. Laurie had then come back to the city just to show up at this party with Rosie. Unfortunately, the poor girl was in bed, exhausted by a nasty cold. He wanted to stay around and make sure that she had everything she needed, but Rosie had insisted that he needed to go ahead and have fun. At least Morgaine would be around. He had enough money to buy a drink, to show a minimum of gratitude for Ms. Wright's hospitality. He thought he looked quite presentable with the warm mantle and the new shirt and tunic he had set aside for the occasion. He had definitely not expected so many nobles to show up to a commoners' party, though. He thought he recognised Master Leif Jade and Master Kirin Mao; he wasn't surprised, as they were pleasant and approachable, according to what he had heard from Morgaine. Still, without Rosie by his side, he couldn't help but feel a little isolated. Maybe the fact that he had gradually slinked further and further towards the back wall of the room contributed. He thought he had spotted Elin and her aunt in the distance, but he couldn't tell if they were free to say hello. Friendly, comforting Ambrose was already there, and oh good 'Woo was that the 'Woo-ping Grand Duke of Bern right next to him; Laurie quickly reached for a drink to sip instead of staring, but didn't find one, because he didn't have one, and all the drinks were closer to where the people had gathered. Laurie was beginning to consider the most discreet path to the door - not that he wanted to get out so early; well, perhaps he would in a minute. That's when Princess Hope Crane Ascension-now-Jade walked right in with her husband. He was done for. Morgaine didn't even seem to be around. He should have stayed with his sisters for a few more days. Then, just like two Woovian saviours descending from the heavens, came the Brahams, accompanied by miraculous holy songs - oh wait, they were just singing together. Laurie wasn't sure what was happening, but at least there were more of his acquaintances around, so he relaxed a little. He slowly inched back towards the center of the party, ready to find a drink or say hello to people or whatever one was supposed to do at a party. Laurie is panicking because there are NOBLES oh dear 'Woo he doesn't want to die, and because he can't even find Morgaine, but OH there she is, it's OK. He's relaxing and trying to start doing party-things that Liou has no idea about

Jeniver grinned from ear to ear at the sight of Lucinda's familiar face. For everything bad that had happened to her in Medieville, she did get to meet Lucinda, which was something she didn't regret. The young Jade immediately leaded from her chair, greeting her friend with a hug. "Lucinda! It's great to see you!" she exclaimed. After a moment, she pulled back from the hug, smiling eagerly. "How've you been? It's been a while!" Joffery, meanwhile, perked up when Sieg opened the floor for singing. "Oh! Singing! I love singing Woomas carols!" He too decided to stand, wandering over to extend his greetings to the hosts. On his way there, he was considering which Woomas carols he might like to sing. "Merry Days of Woomas," perhaps? Or maybe "The Woomas Spirit"? The possibilities were endless! His train of thought was derailed, though, when he overheard Morgaine say something about... he had to have misheard her, right? The thought of his father getting "completely and utterly trashed" at any occasion, especially in a public setting like the king's wedding, was too foreign a concept for him to accept at face value. "I... I'm sorry, what?" was all he managed, smiling awkwardly. He must have misheard her, of course, so he was just going to pretend he didn't hear what he heard until proven otherwise. Jeniver tackleglomps Lucinda ( Kristykimmy) and asks her how she's been. Joffery decides to go talk to Sieg and Morgaine ( Shinko)—pondering what carols he wants to sing—before he overhears Morgaine mention the (in)famous Starmey's wedding story. Joffery decides he misheard her, which I'm sure Alain ( Celestial) will be all too happy to disprove.

Alain laughed softly at Sieg's remark. "Of course, Sir Sieg. Though I do not claim to be an expert, Woomas carols are usually only magical metaphorically, correct? I doubt they can do anything to the dead, unless of course you sing them loudly enough. So I feel safe in assuming you will remain safe for the entire night." Ambrose, in the meantime, had smiled and bowed his head back to them. "I'm very glad to see you too, Sieg, Morgaine," he shook his head, "Thankfully Aldrich knows that it is Woomas and I have family visiting me, thus I am not too swamped with work. But even so, I can always try to make time for my friends," the Stallion then clasped his hands together, glancing down, "And I am very grateful for the invitation too, it's...it's nice to know that I was remembered like this. Though I hope you do not mind that I brought more than one guest." At this, Alain gave another laugh and grinned at Sieg and Morgaine. "If you do, you can pretend I simply invited myself. But I merely wished to see what sort of gathering my little brother had been invited to and we could hardly leave my grandaughter alone at the Manor on Woomas. Besides," he gestured over to where Jeniver had by now joined Lucinda, "She turns out to have a friend here. And I am at least acquainted with both of you. So, the more the merrier, wouldn't you say?" "There certainly are a lot of people here," Ambrose glanced around, doing his best to hide his nervousness. Noticing this, his brother placed a hand on his shoulder, quietly reassuring him. "It just means we'll hardly run out of entertainment, especially if we get more than just you both singing Woomas carols for us both. It is, after all, the ninth day," Alain nodded. There was a knowing glimmer in his eye as he looked over at Ambrose and a smirk played in the corner of his mouth but before he could say anything, he caught the look in Morgaine's eyes and the words that had come out of her mouth. At this, the hints of a smirk broke into a full-on grin. He burst out into laughter. Ambrose, meanwhile, had gone wide-eyed, thoroughly confused. Alain, drunk? Yes, it had happened before but getting so drunk as the wedding of King Starmey that people still remembered about it..? He shivered. No, it was probably not like his own experience...but nevertheless, he felt his heart sink a little, fearful of what exactly happened. And with Everett too? Why had he never heard? "You never told me about this..." he said, turning to Alain and staring up at him, trying to glean some answers amidst his brother's thorough amusement. Alain finally regained enough of his iron self-control to reduce the expression of his amusement to mere chuckles and cast a grin around at Morgaine, Ambrose and then Joffery, who was staring at him in utter disbelief. "Oh yes, I remember. I thought it would be amusing to get the new Jade Lord drunk but he got me drunk right back. The results of that, well, I'm sure you've heard that through the grapevine too, Mrs. Braham. Though I must confess, it is both a surprise and not surprising at all to hear that after all this time, it is still a story that is being told." "Oh, Alain," Ambrose sighed, going slightly red and burying his face his the palm of his hand. "It was all in good fun, Ambrose. I can't speak for Everett but I had plenty of fun that day. No need to be embarrassed for me," Alain chuckled, patting his brother on the shoulder again. He smiled at Joffery. "You should ask your father about it, Lord Joffery, if you don't believe me. Though," his smile turned into a smirk. "It was certainly a memorable occassion. Wine and dance and song...oh yes, there were songs." The two brothers chat with the Brahams( Shinko) until Starmey's wedding is brought up. Ambrose is confused but Alain laughs because fond memories. He explains that it is all true and then hints at future (past?) events in that RP to Joffery( PFA) including singing. ;D

Morgaine laughed as heartily as Alain had when the grand duke confirmed the story, though Sieg shook his head. The knight remarked dryly, "I can't pretend to be surprised that you instigated that incident, your grace. I'm just glad you didn't attempt something similar when Orrin and I were in Destrier." "Well it certainly sounds like Lord Jade gave his grace exactly the retribution he was asking for," the locksmith put in with a wide grin. Turning to Joffery she added, "If anything you should be proud of your father- I imagine not everyone succeeds in getting even with Grand Duke Stallion like that." Turning back to Alain, Morgaine grinned impishly, adopting a very stern, motherly tone. "As to your inviting yourself your, grace, certainly we don't mind having you here- as long as you behave yourself properly. I can't really speak for Lady Lucinda though. I certainly don't mind her here, but the last time she and Lady Jeniver where together in this inn they caused significant property damage. My opinion isn't the one you should worry about- it's Ilsa's. Since your grace has so generously take responsibility for her, it's upon your head if Ilsa has a nervous breakdown from waiting for them to wreak havoc again." She waved a hand and chuckled. "In all seriousness, the more the merrier. Woomas is a time for families to be together and it would be very ill-mannered of me to insist on splitting yours up for the sake of our little party." Sieg glanced around. "Speaking of the party, Ambrose is right- we seem to have quite the turnout. And Leif made a beeline right for Lord Kirin, surprise, surprise." "You can say hello to him after the two of them have had the chance to escape to a quiet corner under the mistletoe," Morgaine chided gently. "We'll be here all afternoon and into the night I imagine." "True, I... mistletoe?" Sieg said, his head whipping around. "Where is there mistletoe? We didn't put up any mistletoe." "You didn't," Morgaine retorted with a mischievous glint in her eye. "I came up here a few times without you when you were with Leif or Sir Orrin. It's here somewhere- as to where, I'll leave that a surprise for everyone." The knight sighed, burying his face in his hands. "Mother, have I ever mentioned you're horrible?" The locksmith only laughed. Teasing, small talk, and a Woomas surprise for some people to stumble across somewhere in the inn! They're talking to The Stallionbros ( Celestial) and Joffery ( PFA)

Lucinda couldn't help smiling wider as Jeniver surprised her with a hug in response to her greeting. She returned it, and then sat down across from where Jeniver had been seated when her friend released her. “It has been a while,” Lucinda agreed. “The last time I saw you was your cousin's wedding. I hope Joffrey and Princess Hope are well? I have been busy. I've been taking a greater interest in the management of my lands in Kine, and in the welfare of the people of Destrier. It has taught me much. What of you? How comes your training in the magical arts?” She glanced over across the room when she heard Alain's burst out into laughter, something that wasn't exactly a common occurrence with her Grandfather. She noticed the party around him, particularly the embarrassed and befuddled looks on the faces of Joffrey and Ambrose, and smiled. “Ah, I wonder what Grandfather is up to over there?” she chuckled, gesturing to them. Lucinda talks with Jeniver ( PFA).

“Mild?” Leif repeated dubiously, glancing toward the window. There wasn’t too much snow at the moment, but even this early in the winter it was cold and snowy enough that Leif would not have used the same word to describe the season. Of course, compared to Bern… “If she says so,” Leif conceded with a shrug. “From all I’m hearing about Bernian winters, people must carve tunnels through the snowdrifts to get places.” He wasn’t positive snow-tunnels were actually possible, though Leif had discovered (unfortunately in part via his face and the back of his neck) that snow could be surprisingly strong if packed together tightly enough. It wasn’t something Leif would try without magic, but it wasn’t as if the Bernians had much of that to spare. Kirin held up the steaming mug of cider, and Leif caught a whiff of it from the rising steam. “Mmm. Smells good.” At Kirin’s comment about not wanting to repeat the events of the Lyellian festival, Leif nodded in agreement. “Yes, let’s not do that again - nobody was having a good time by the end of the night. Certainly not the next day,” he remarked wryly. Thank ‘Woo people like Ilsa weren’t as duplicitous as the mage who had sold magically-enhanced, juice-flavored alcohol at the Lyellian festival. “I’ll order one when I see Miss Wright again; it’ll be nice to have something your level of sweet after the fast.” He realized a moment later how else that phrasing could be interpreted - sweetness as a personality trait rather than a taste descriptor. Oops. All the same, he made no effort to take it back or clarify. “So, planning to join in the singing?” He was genuinely curious; Kirin had never really shown either favor or distaste for singing, as far as Leif had seen. Leif chats with Kirin and asks if he's planning on singing.

"What of you? How comes your training in the magical arts?" Lucinda asked. "Um, it's been going okay," Jeniver replied, fiddling with her hair in thought. She was probably never going to be as good of a mage as her father was, and she was starting to realize that, but that didn't stop her from learning what she could. Though, remembering the state of her magic skill the last time she was in Medieville, she thought to add, "I've gotten better at not breaking stuff!" When the Grand Duke started laughing, Jeniver gave a confused frown, glancing over. What was going on over there? Joffery, hearing what Alain had to say, was utterly baffled. Alain getting his father drunk made sense, at least, but... getting the Grand Duke drunk in turn? Dancing? Singing? Was this really his father they were talking about? "Er... I suppose so," Joffery admitted, in response to Morgaine's comment. After a moment, he returned his attention to Alain. "...Did my father really sing?" Jeniver continues taling to Lucinda ( Kristykimmy). Joffery is confused at Alain's ( Celestial) retelling of the drunken lords story, asking if Everett really sang. Morgaine and Sieg ( Shinko) are there too.

Alain smiled and shook his head in response to Sieg, his eyes acquiring an impish glint. "I do not have to get you or Sir Orrin drunk to derive some amusement from you, Sir Sieg the way I did with Everett. Though I suppose I do not have to get him drunk for that either," he laughed slightly before turning back to Morgaine, the impishness in his eyes spreading across the rest of his face. "However, I gained a lot of respect for him after that. It does take a lot to fool me like he did, even if I was younger and prouder back then," in particular, his smile grew a little wider as he turned to Joffery. "It's nothing shameful, Lord Joffery. Though...I will not tell you if he sang or not. I suggest for that little bit of information, you ask him yourself when you get back to Solis. I'm sure he will love to remember those days." "Not if this is Lord Everett we are talking about. Oh, brother...you haven't changed at all," Ambrose lowered his gaze. He was still reeling from the idea of Alain drunk, though the circumstances sounded exactly like something he would arrange. Despite this, he could not help but smile a little. However, his smile disappeared once Morgaine mentioned Lucinda and her...misadventures with Ilsa's furniture. Ambrose paled a little. "I'm sorry, I did not realise that Lucind-" he broke off as he felt Alain's hand on his shoulder and looked up at his brother. To his surprise, he found that Alain's smile had not faded at all at Morgaine's comment. Rather, it had acquired an extra layer. "I shall take full responsibility for Lucinda and I'm sure me and Ms. Wright can come to an arrangement should it come to it. But I assure you, my granddaughter at least has matured quite a bit in the last few years, she won't be a problem," he folded his hands on top of his cane, acquiring an air of decorum. "As for myself, I never make promises I cannot keep. But at the same time, I have to set an example to my little brother." At those words, he gave his brother a knowing look and Ambrose could not help but smile too. He turned back to Morgaine, clasping his hands together. "I promise that none of my family will cause trouble, Mrs Braham. And we are all sincerely glad for the invitation. It is nice to spend Woomas in good company, not just with my family." "And it is also a pleasure to see old friends, since being up in Destrier, I miss out a lot of fun," Alain smirked. "Speaking of which, Mrs Braham, since we are sharing stories of our drunken escapades, I heard there was quite a ruckus with some spiked juice? That you got involved in?" "I...uh...I included it in my letters," Ambrose explained sheepishly, turning a little red again. "Brother, I thought you'd say you'd behave." "I also said I never make promises I do not keep. It is a harmless enough question, Ambrose, and it is only fair," Alain replied. "Besides, I am curious. Though...speaking of which, we have a gift, which you might perhaps appreciate, Mrs. Braham." "We figured it would not do to come to a party empy handed," Ambrose nodded. "I'll go fetch it while you...share your stories." With that, the younger Stallion brother turned away and headed back to the table where they had left their cloaks, digging around for a satchel they had brought with them and the item contained within. Alain elaborates on the drunken shenanigans that happened at the wedding and tells Joff( PFA) to ask Everett himself. He then talks some more to Morgaine( Shinko) before asking her in return about certain juice-related things. Ambrose, meanwhile, goes to find the present Stallionbros had brought.
