Elin grinned at Morgaine's surprise as she got to her feet. "Oh, I've sheen her. I promishe I'm related, I jusht--" “Elin!” came a sudden voice. Leif. He'd come back, and he looked upset, from what Elin could tell. “Are you using your magic? That’s a really bad idea, don’t you think?”Elin had begun to protest. "I jusht wanted to show--" She didn't finish before Leif put his free hand on her shoulders and forced her back into a sitting position. As he did, Elin lost her focus, and she stumbled back into a sitting position with a small 'oof'. “I know you didn’t mean to get drunk, but you really need to be careful - have you been using them all night?”"I wash gonna be careful," Elin retorted, waving her hand. "It'sh jusht a bit jusht now. An' it'sh jusht... It'sh just really hard to find my way around shometimes if I don't, bad enough that I wash alone and losht. I jusht... I ushed it in placesh, here and there. It'sh all I could do..." Morgaine spoke up. Clare didn't tell Morgaine about her magic, it seemed, and now she was confused. Elin looked over to her. "No no, nothing magic about Auntie, unlessh you count her feeling magical while drunk. I'm kinda the odd Ryer out; got shome magic. Let'sh me do what other'sh can do if I want, long as I shee them do it firsht." She sighed. "He'sh worried I'll get shick doin' it, but it'sh hard to jusht not ushe it. Alwaysh is, but 'shpecially here, with alla thish; dunno what can help when I'm drunk and losht and dunno know what to do." Elin tries to wave off Leif's concerns with promises of being careful, and admits to using her powers a few times throughout the night, noting that she didn't know what else she could do in her situation. She explains her powers to Morgaine.

Leif forced himself to calm down - externally, at least, even if on the inside he was incredibly worried. He’d seen her the day after the coronation, when she’d first used her powers to dangerous excess, and she’d looked about as pulled as Leif had been. According to Xavier, the actual collapse had been a lot worse. Leif didn’t want to find out what overused mimic magic and drunkenness did when combined. But it wasn’t really her fault, so he needed to not yell at her. Leif also didn’t want to cause another incident like he had with Morgaine earlier in the night. She’s drunk, Leif reminded himself. The whole reason you avoid alcohol is because it’s harder to tell yourself not to use magic - so actually apply that. Elin sort of had a point, anyway - walking and finding her way around probably would’ve been difficult without the magic. “I know it’s hard, but please try not to use it,” Leif asked in as calm a voice as he could manage. “Mrs. Braham and I will stay with you, so you shouldn’t have to worry about getting lost again, at least.” Leif jabbed a fork into his pie and took a bite. It did taste good, though he wasn’t in much of a mood to appreciate it. “...Sorry for yelling,” he added. “And for blurting out your magic there.” After a few more bites of pie, he said, “So, Miss Ryer, there was an acrobat show around the juice stand? Mrs. Braham - do you remember an acrobatics show being anywhere nearby after you bought the juice?” Elin seeing it might be coincidence - but if Morgaine remembered it, too, that would be a good sign they were on the right track. Leif calms himself down and asks Elin to try not to use her powers, as much as she can, and apologizes for freaking out there. He also eats some pie because somebody’s getting grumpy without dinner. He asks if Morgaine remembers the acrobat show, trying to narrow down if that’s a clue as to the juice stall’s location or just a coincidence.

Morgaine raised her eyebrows with interest as Elin explained her magic, "Oh really? I've never heard of magic that letsh you copy other people. That'd be intereshting, though I guessh, I guessh it would make it hard t'learn shtuff the normal way. I mean what if ya shtarted magicing by accident? Then yer all pulled and achey and shtuff. But it'sh shtill pretty, pretty neat." The cat had slid herself into Morgaine's lap, and with a grin the old woman stroked the feline's head. "I can't take you home, shorry girl, my babiesh would get jealoush." She ate some more of her pie, looking up again when Leif asked her about the acrobatics show. She frowned a bit, trying to get her alcohol fogged brain to focus on the memories. "I... Maaaaybe? I didn't watsch it myshelf, I think it was already over before I got here. But there were shome people talking about it, I do remember that." She leaned over a bit, resting against Elin's shoulder. "It'sh all sho fuzzy... I got the juishce, and I wash wandering around. I think I watched a performanshce with shome danshcersh after that, in a... in a tent! A big blue tent! Maybe it wash the shame plashce the acrobatsh were doin' their show earlier? Elin, whaddayou think?" Morgaine isn't really sure, since the acrobatics show had already ended before she got to the festival (she's a merchant after all, she has a shop to run most of the day) but acknowledges having heard people talking about it in the vicinity while buying the juice, and seeing a dance show in a tent nearby that might have also housed the acrobatics performance.

Elin tried in vain not to sway as she looked up at Leif, who seemed to look calmer now. She spent a while threading the words through her foggy head before letting out a sigh. “Won't if I won't have to... Leasht it'll be easier when I'm not alone. Alwaysh hard though, moresho with... jumbly crowdsh.” She sighed. “Thanksh, really. And 'sh fine, I've heard worshe; at leasht it'sh not sho shecret-y anymore, not like way back when.” Elin glanced over to Morgaine at her comments. “That'sh kinda what happened. Had it for a long time, but didn't know it wash magic. Sho I got shick a lot and didn't know why. Got the hang of knowing when it happensh now, though. Leif helped. I shtill like it; I can do really cool thingsh with it, like... Ah, right, jusht told me not to.” She let out a disappointed sigh as she picked up her pie. “Maybe shometime, I'll show you shomething more neat than jusht shtanding shtraight.” Elin leaned back against the tree in an effort to stabilize herself somewhat as she ate, trying not to focus too much on how everything moved. For a while, the food was the only thing that caught her attention as she performed the labyrinthine task of ensuring the fork made it to her mouth. She kept eating until she heard her name and a question about an acrobatics show, and then she heard Morgaine elaborating on what she knew while leaning her head on her shoulder. Elin was only just able to steady herself in time, and she ended up leaning slightly towards Morgaine, Elin's head touching hers. “Blue tent? Blue tent, blue tent... I-I think there wash one, yeah! I remember shomeshing like that... Can't tell ya where it ish though. Maybe if I shee it...” Elin says she won't use her mimic magic... If she doesn't have to. I'm sure her judgment of when she has to use it will be perfect. She then talks to Morgaine more about mimic magic, then confirms the existence of a tent when she saw the acrobatics, but can't place where it is now.
(Note: If I messed up any plans, let me know, and I'll edit. ^^; )

Well, that was about as close to a promise as Leif was going to get. He’d probably have to remind Elin of that, if her attention span was as...fickle as Morgaine’s was right now. But if Leif and Elin were both checking on it, here should be a good chance they’d get through the night without the mimic pulling herself too badly. Let’s keep Xavier’s coronary a small one, if we can.“A blue tent,” he mused after the women had confirmed that there was one nearby - well, had been one nearby. Maybe. It wasn’t exactly solid eyewitness testimony, but Leif would take it over nothing. “I don’t remember seeing one...I was looking for the falconers, so I could’ve missed it. I don’t remember seeing any tents on that side of the festival, actually.” He looked around the square pensively. Through the crowd he caught a few glimpses of lights floating on Lake Plume - so that had been what the lanterns were for. It might have been nice to watch, if not for the rampant, half-drunk crowd gathered at the shore and on the bridge. Looking back to the festival proper, Leif didn’t see any tents. Hopefully the Lyellians weren’t taking them down. “The tent must be off that way,” he said, nodding in the direction he and Morgaine had been heading, east of the King’s Arms Inn. “How far does this festival go? And any idea when it actually ends? I’d have thought nightfall, but I guess with all the lanterns…” He got back to work on his pie, eating more quickly now. “We can head over there once we’re finished eating,” he said. ”Let’s go find the tent when we’re done eating pie,” Leif says.

((Collabed with Tiger)) Morgaine had just finished eating her pie and was feeling distinctly relaxed as she leaned against Elin's arm. She stroked the cat in her lap, only half-listening as Leif mused to himself. When he questioned her directly she grinned. "I dunno how far it is. Not, not too far pasht the inn I don't think. Ash for how long, the Lyelliansh might closhe up shop in an hour or two but by now you should know better. Thish is Medieville, the people here don't sleep on party nightsh. There'll be carousing until almosht shunup, jusht watch." She gestured with her head so that it pressed against Elin's playfully, "Sho how many of hish majesty'sh other councilors do you think got washted tonight? I bet he'sh gonna be confushed and annoyed when sho many people don't show up. And, and if he sends somebody after ya, and they find Xavier firsht, it'd be a bad thing. He'd panic sho much. Where ish Xavier anyway? You two didn't come to enjoy the feshtivitiesh together? I alwaysh took, took my hushband with me when I went out drinkin', he'd ushually carry me home. Good thing I'm small huh?" She laughed rather more loudly than was needed at this, and abruptly lurched up, spilling the cat from her lap so that it darted behind the tree with a startled hiss. "That'sh it! I know how we can make it aaaaall better for Xavier!" The locksmith tottered over to Leif and pulled his sleeve, "Stand up a minute, I need your help!" "Er - with what?" Leif asked, startled to suddenly be part of this discussion. Morgaine kept tugging and after a moment he rose, hesitantly, worried Morgaine would fall if she kept trying to pull at him and he stayed where he was. "It'sh nothin' bad, c'mon don't you trusht me? I'm yer, yer crime fighting parter!" She grinned hugely at this. "It'll be fun, jusht gimme a sec." She grabbed his left hand and set it on her shoulder, then put his right hand on her waist. "Okay, okay Elin, now we're gonna show you shome, shome FANCSHY DANCSHING, sho you can do it with Xavier! That'll make him happy, I bet, doing it with you!" "I - Mrs. Braham - " Leif pulled his hand back from her waist. "Mrs. Braham, you're not...entirely steady and I don't really know how to dance." The locksmith laughed, "What, me? Naaah, don't worry about it. Yer not gonna let me fall, are ya? And it'sh okay if you don't know how, jusht let me do the leading!" She hobbled in place in front of Leif, pulling on his arms in an attempt to get him to sway with her. "Jusht goooo with it, looshen up and have fun. Do it for Xavier!" Leif sighed, but he was going to have to pick his fights tonight. He was already on his feet and Morgaine had a point, Leif did have to keep her from falling. That really didn't change the fact that he didn't know how to dance, and wasn't exactly a paragon of grace at the best of times. Still, he tried to follow Morgaine's lead, tough as it was to overcome his natural inclination to definitely not be dancing. "I think what would really make Xavier feel better when he finds out about all this," Leif remarked, "would be Elin resting, not dancing." "She'sh probably shtill got a few hoursh before the crash, theresh time," Morgaine replied with a dismissive handwave. "If she'sh drunk anyway, might as well have fun with it!" She tried to do a spin, but predictably lost her balance and stumbled, forcing Leif to catch her. "Ahaha, don't pay attention to that part Elin, that didn't count. But, but you think you're getting the bashics?" Morgaine drags Leif into some drunken dancing to "teach" Elin how to dance with Xavier. 8D

As the others talked, Elin managed to finish most of her pie, and was in the process of collecting and eating even the tiniest crumbs that remained. "Sho how many of hish majesty'sh other councilors do you think got washted tonight? I bet he'sh gonna be confushed and annoyed when sho many people don't show up. And, and if he sends somebody after ya, and they find Xavier firsht, it'd be a bad thing. He'd panic sho much. Where ish Xavier anyway? You two didn't come to enjoy the feshtivitiesh together? I alwaysh took, took my hushband with me when I went out drinkin', he'd ushually carry me home. Good thing I'm small huh?"“Oh no,” Elin said, trailing off of Morgaine laughed. “Pro'ly a lot, an' I should be there, I had important shtuff, but I couldn't get outta here, an', an'...” A worried frowned appeared on her face. “Oh, oh Xhavier... h-he--” Before she could finish, Morgaine had abruptly stood up, armed with ideas. Elin sat there pondering her situation for a moment, but was soon distracted by Morgaine's antics. She stared at the two, dazed until she realized what was happening. At this, she laughed. “Hey m-maybe it could help,” she said as they danced. “He'sh pro'ly shtill gonna be worried. But! Maybe you're right. Maybe he'll have fun, and then be lessh worried if he doesh find me. Should alsho help him have fun after whatever he had to do for the Jadesh; he left the feshtival early for that. It'sh why he ishn't here.” She grinned as she watched the two try to dance, observing their moves carefully. “You've really not danced before, Leif?” she asked as they moved. “Not once? Not even with Kirin?” Shortly after though, Morgaine tried to do one final spin only to stumble and fall into Leif. "Ahaha, don't pay attention to that part Elin, that didn't count. But, but you think you're getting the bashics?"Elin nodded fervently, but quickly slowed and shut her eyes for a moment. Still, she smiled. “Yeah, Yeah, I do,” she said. “I-I'm gonna try it! Caushe you're right, I can resht later.” At this proclamation, Elin began to rise quickly to her feet, but moved too quickly, and she wobbled. She placed her hand on the tree behind her to steady herself. “I-It'sh fine, I'm not gonna let that shtop me! Jusht becaushe I'm drunk doeshn't mean I can't danshe, I'll prove it. Here--” she stumbled forward and grabbed Leif's wrist. “He'sh pro'ly gonna be shober, and you're the mosht shober one here. Beshides, you gotta practice for Kirin at shome point!” After they were ready, Elin brought Leif into another round of dancing, which was just as wobbly as before. Elin knew that even without the drunkenness, she was normally only a just passable dancer, but she hardly cared at the moment. It was too much fun in spite of the times she stumbled over her own feet, trying to do what Morgaine did along with her own additions that she thought were interesting. As they began to slow, Elin pointed one finger at Morgaine. “A-and Morgaine, that shpin, that I can do, lemme show you,” she said. And with that, she broke from Leif and began to do a spin where she stood. She only managed a little spin before stumbling, and she swayed heavily on the spot before falling to her knees. “Woah, too fasht, too fasht, shpinning... I'm fine, I'm fine, jusht gimme a sec.” Elin latches onto Morgaine's drunk logic and participates in this fabulous idea to make Xavier feel better about his girlfriend being drunk. She gets up and drags Leif into a dance, which is probably just drunken shuffling. She tries to correct Morgaine on her spin, but ends up stumbling herself and getting dizzy, and she tries to reorient herself on the ground. Good job, Elin.
Dragged Leif in with permission. Tiger, let me know if you have issues with any of this or if I need to change anything. ^^

“You've really not danced before, Leif? Not once? Not even with Kirin?”Leif, still trying to focus on Morgaine, admitted, “I have danced a bit - I had a few lessons as a child.” He wasn’t entirely sure of the motivations behind that; his parents might have just wanted him to be able to attend and participate in fancy dancing events before he left for the church, but Leif couldn’t really say he’d known what was on the minds of Lord and Lady Accipiter when they set up the lives of their children. Returning his attention to Elin, Leif added, “That doesn’t mean I really know what I’m doing, though.” Elin proclaimed that she was going to take a turn; Leif figured he was going to be the obligatory dance partner again, and helped Morgaine back down before Elin took his wrist. She was very insistent that she could dance just fine. ”Beshides,” she added, ”you gotta practice for Kirin at shome point.”Giving up, Leif said, “I suppose you’re right. But no mimic powers, all right?” He let Elin do most of the leading, focusing mostly on not letting her trip and not stepping on her feet. A couple passers-by called out, and Leif really hoped out-of-hand rumors of this wouldn’t get back to either Kirin or Xavier. Mostly Xavier; obviously there was nothing romantic about this for Leif, and Elin very clearly loved Xavier, but the younger Jade had enough self-confidence issues that he might still be rattled by the idea. Elin tried the spin, drawing Leif's full attention back to the dancing. She managed the maneuver, but quickly lost her balance. ”I’m fine, I’m fine, jusht gimme a sec,” she assured them from the ground. Crouching next to Elin and holding her shoulder so she didn’t fall, Leif suggested wryly, “Maybe that’s enough spinning for both of you tonight. I think we’d all prefer neither of you made yourselves sick.” Glancing at Morgaine, he asked, “How are you holding up, Mrs. Braham?” As Leif waited for the women to recover enough that they could continue searching, he glanced toward the crowd occasionally to keep an eye out for danger or for other people they knew. ...Instead, he spotted a group of Lyellians carrying several large red-and-gold tarps. Following behind them were people with stakes and coiled ropes - “Uh - Mrs. Braham, Miss Ryer?” Leif got to his feet. “I think they’re taking down the tents - we’d better find that blue one sooner rather than later!” A little more drunken dancing, before realizing oh noes, the Lyellians are taking down the tents!

Elin was only vaguely aware of the hand on her shoulder as she took in a few breaths, but she still managed to hear Leif's voice. “Maybe that’s enough spinning for both of you tonight. I think we’d all prefer neither of you made yourselves sick.”
Elin nodded weakly. "Yeah, yeah, good plan..." She put her hand to her forehead and rubbed it, but quickly abandoned the plan when she started to lose her balance again. She spent some time on the ground, waiting and preparing until the spinning had slowed down and until Elin was confident that she wouldn't have to live through the horror of losing her dinner. She began to try to get up, and not a moment too soon, for Leif spoke up again, warning them that the Lyellians were taking down the tents.
"Wha? ...Oh! Yeah, we'd better," she said, taking her time trying to get up. "But getting through the crowd'll take forever... Can't you do shome magicky thing to find it? Or... Or we could go onto a roof. We can shee lotsh of thingsh from roofs. M-maybe we could find it if we find a really tall one sho we can shee everything. Can't get losht that way."

Morgaine laughed. "Bein' high up is overrated. Belial was waaaaay taller'n me, and it was funny 'caushe he had to pick me up sho we could kissh. I couldn't reach. It wash fun, mosht of the time, but shometimes it was annoying if I just wanted to, wanted to do it and not have t' ashk for a boosht." Stumbling to her feet, she put her arm out and pointed to the street. "Onwards brave onesh! We gotta find the juishce guy before he eshcapesh into the night!" She tottered a few steps, then her face lit up. "Or, or why don't we jusht ashk the Lyell peoplesh where the blue tent ish? Then, then it don't matter if they take it down. Leif, Leif, do you speak Lyellian? Or, ahaha, I bet they speak Kythian, probably, or they wouldn't be here. Laaanguages, am I right?" Morgaine walked in a zig-zag pattern towards the Lyellians who were clearing the tents, waving enthusiastically. "Heeey, you guysh, can I ashk you a queshtion?" There was a distinctly unwelcoming expression on the faces of the foreigners- evidently they were still not entirely happy about so many of their number being drugged. Oblivious to this, Morgaine kept on walking until she plowed into one of them, almost knocking both of them over and earning an annoyed shout. The man shouted to his companions in his own language, and from the tone clearly nothing he was saying was complimentary. "Shorry, shorry, I'm a... a little drunk right now," Morgaine said, grinning up at the man. He glared down at her. "And so are a quarter of our performers, Ma'am," he said with very strained politeness, not able to keep the tone of annoyance out of his voice. "We would very much like to pack our things and tend them. It has not been a good night." Confrontation with angry foreigners in three, two...

Leif stared at Elin for a moment. “I - no,” he said at last. “Let’s not go onto a roof while the two of you are drunk. I really don’t want to explain broken bones or cracked heads to Xavier or Sieg or Rosalie.” He shook his head as if to clear it.
“As for magic…” Leif considered that; he couldn’t track the juice stand by magic, but was there a way to find the tent?
Morgaine dismissed the rooftop idea, too, which Leif was relieved to hear. He was less relieved about her starting off for the crowd. Morgaine paused briefly to share another idea...which Leif had to admit was pretty common-sense. Even if he didn’t speak Lyellian. ”Laaanguages, am I right?"
“Languages,” Leif agreed. “Can - “
Before he could ask Morgaine to wait, the woman was off, making her unsteady way toward the Lyellians. Well. At least she would head them off. Leif offered his arm to Elin for support. “Come on, Ms. Ryer, let’s catch up before we lose her.” Leif used the fire-light trick to keep the crowds back again as he and Elin trailed after the locksmith.
”We would very much like to pack our things and tend them. It has not been a good night,” one of the Lyellians was saying to Morgaine when they caught up. His eyes flicked toward Leif and Elin warily.
“I understand, sir, and I’m sorry about the mess with the juice,” Leif said. Some of the Lyellian’s obvious caution relaxed a touch when he heard Leif speaking without a slur. “We’re trying to find the person responsible and shut them down.” He paused, suspecting Morgaine and Elin would have their own contributions to this declaration.
“Best of luck there,” the Lyellian said dryly. “We can’t find hide nor hair of this juice.”
“There’s magic involved,” Leif explained. Holding up his wand slightly, he added, “I’m...one of House Jade’s mages.” Admitting that he was the Archmage still felt awkward sometimes, after he’d spent years keeping that role a secret on Lord Everett’s orders. “I should be able to get through his protections, but we need to find the magic before I can break it. We think there was a blue tent somewhere nearby. It had an acrobatic show inside it earlier. Can you tell us where that was?”

"We don't all have to go up," she muttered. "How elshe are we gonna get through an' find it...?" Her question was cut off by Morgaine proclaiming that they continue onwards into the crowd, but thankfully, before they could go far, Morgaine spoke up with another idea. As they were talking, she was busy looking around, trying to make sense of the area around her, but nodded to her suggestion. It didn't take Morgaine long to head off again, and Elin--distracted as she was trying to figure out the area--took a moment to realize she was gone. She looked over to Leif, who offered his arm. She nodded to his suggestion and grabbed onto his arm with one hand. Last thing she wanted now was to get lost again. They moved quickly, and Elin once more had a hard time keeping track of everything going on, but Leif was able to lead her to Morgaine and the Lyellians easily enough. It was there that Leif tried to explain the situation to the Lyellians. Taking her hand off of Leif's arm, she took an unsteady step forward. "He'sh right, he ish one of the magesh," she proclaimed to the exasperated Lyellians. "Good one too. An' he'sh a noble an' I'm one of the Shadow Counshelors, sho we can make sure thish moron getsh his due, trusht us." The Lyellians gave a look at each other before one of the Lyellians sighed. "There was more than one blue tent out there with an acrobatics show." "It wash a biiiig one," Elin said. "Huuuge, not like the little onesh. Shuper neat tricksh, I didn't know backsh could bend that way. And all thoshe people on that rope while juggling wash great. And that thing with the pershon balanshing all thoshe thingsh while doing thoshe knife shtunts, man, I really wanna try that shometime." "We... Wouldn't recommend that, ma'am," one of the Lyellians said with a sigh. "That's too dangerous even... normally. Not without training." Elin only frowned in disbelief, and one of the other Lyellians shook their heads. "Well, thank you; we do try hard," she said. "Anyway, I think I know which one you're talking about now, if it had all those things." She pointed down one of the streets. "You'll want to go that way, past the... crowds, take a right at the large building at the end of the road. We set it up close to the Cathedral around that area, at the largest patch of grass we could find.” "Cathedral... Oh! Soundsh like Grand Woo Cathedral! Thanksh!" Elin said. "Don't worry, we'll find him!" "Have fun," one of the Lyellians said impassively. “You'd better hurry though; we're looking to take that tent down as soon as we can.” The Lyellians continue to be unamused by the drunk antics, but after a quick clarification, they figure out which tent they're talking about, and give them directions.

At this revelation, Morgaine laughed uproariously. "The guy'sh shellin' booze near the Cathedral? Oh boy, no wonder he got shome prieshtsh drunk. I thought it wash kinda, kinda weird. Feshtivalsh aren't ushually their scene." She stumbled away from the Lyellians. "Well we got our heading, letsh move out men!" The old woman took a few steps, then faltered, stumbling on a loose paving stone and falling forwards with a yelp. She managed to throw her arms out in time to prevent her face from striking the road, but when she tried to push herself upright again she fell right back down. "Ahahaha, whoopsh. Shoulda sheen thish one coming." She tried to stand, managing this time- barely. She had to keep her legs spread wide, and even then she was stumbling backwards and forwards like there were two invisible people pushing her between them. "When I get really, really trashed I shtop bein' able to shtand on my own after a while. That'sh why m'husband alwaysh had to carry me home." She stumbled towards Leif, but her uneven gait instead led her straight for Elin, plowing into the younger girl and sending both of them sprawling. "Oopsh! Shorry, shorry, that wash my fault." The Lyellians had moved off by this point, exchanging glances of distaste. Morgaine rolled off of Elin and glanced up at Leif. "Don't shend me home coach, I shtill wanna help. I can do it, I totally can, watch." She stood again, fumbling badly, but finally managed to grab on Leif's arm and hang from it like a child would hang from a rope swing. So you remember how in the Drunken Conversations fic it got to the point where Morgaine literally could not stand up on her own? 8D

The Cathedral? The juice merchant was selling near the Cathedral? Leif was incensed - he’d seen a few priests looking...not entirely sober, and now he understood why. Morgaine seemed amused, but Leif felt bad for them; it wasn’t their fault they’d gotten drunk, but he imagined there would still be a lot of guilt among them for unintentional breaking that part of their priestly duties. Before Leif’s anger had much time to build up, however, Morgaine stumbled and fell and Leif had to turn his attention back to handling the drunk women. Leif tried to hurry after Morgaine, but it was hard to rush while trying not to pull Elin along too fast. The locksmith had already gotten to her feet by the time Leif made it back to her side, explaining that eventually alcohol robbed her of the ability to stand. Even then, Leif wasn’t fast enough to prevent her from crashing into Elin. "Don't shend me home coach, I shtill wanna help. I can do it, I totally can, watch." With a great deal of effort, she managed to hang from his arm. Leif shifted his arm so he could hold Morgaine up - less painful for Leif and probably less effort on the locksmith’s part. Leif closed his eyes, trying to think. This was not going to work - Morgaine couldn’t stand on her own, Elin was probably not far behind; Leif didn’t have a third arm to work a wand with, and he was worried about what would happen if the juice merchant tried to fight back. Morgaine and Elin shouldn’t be in the crossfire like this, not without Leif having the ability to cast a quick shield. Well, Leif knew where to look for the stand now - maybe it was time to let Morgaine, at least, get some rest for the night. The King’s Arms is past the Cathedral...but what are the odds they’re going to spot anything at this rate?“Mrs. Braham, Miss Ryer...maybe I should let the two of you go to the King’s Arms for the time being. He might try to run or fight…” Leif picked his words carefully. “If I have to go after him or fight him, I don’t want to have to leave you two behind.” Leif suggests dropping Morgaine and Elin off at the King’s Arms. I’m sure this won’t trigger any arguments, and I’m sure he’s totally right that even if they go past the Cathedral to get to the King’s Arms, that definitely won’t be the moment Morgaine and/or Elin recognize the guy’s stall. Because things always go Leiflet’s way, don’t th-...oh, wait.
Also Tiger's sick again, hence why this post might be kind of lame \ o /

Morgaine puffed out her cheeks, an indignant look on her face. "I'm fine, Mashter Jade, I can help. I wanna help, and you, you won't stop me!" She tried to lurch forwards, but lost her balance almost immediately so that Leif was forced to grab her. Not in the least dissuaded by this, she added, "I've been helping you shince the shtart, and I'm not gonna flake out now. I wanna shee thish finished. Beshides, I owe him a black eye. And I bet, I bet Elin called dibsh on punching him b'fore you even got to the feshtival." Short response. Morgaine is being absolutely cooperative.
