This is a spin off from Five Letter Logic. If you're not acquainted, five letter logic works like so--
One person-- the host-- thinks up a five letter word (no proper nouns). People then try to guess their word. So, say the host's word is ICONS. A person guesses the word SCALD. The host would reply with:
Because SCALD and ICONS have one letter in common (the 'C' in the two-spot). Now, say the next person guesses SCANT. The host would reply with:
Because SCANT and ICONS have two letters in common (C, N). This continues on until the word is figured out, at which point the correct guesser gets to host with her own word. Simple, right?
So, this builds on that. But while Five Letter Logic only gives "positives" to letters that are in the same place of a word, this game will work a little differently. There will be a two-pronged bracket after each guess, wherein first you list how many letters are in the correct place, and the second how many letters are in the word overall. So let's say the host's word is IGLOO. A person guesses the word MOLDY. The host would reply with:
Because MOLDY and IGLOO both have an 'L' in the three-spot. And both MOLDY and IGLOO feature an 'O' at some point in the word-- but in different spots. So basically, there's 1 letter correct in place, but 2 letters overall in the word. Similarly, for double letters, if there are two 'o' and you guess MOLDY, you get a "1" in the second spot because you haven't parsed out both 'o's. But then say you guess MOONS. You'd get:
Because MOONS has two 'o's, and so does IGLOO.
Anyway, rules make sense? If so, I'll give it a whirl. =D

SCALD (1)

SCALD (1)
SCANT (2)
Because SCANT and ICONS have two letters in common (C, N). This continues on until the word is figured out, at which point the correct guesser gets to host with her own word. Simple, right?

MOONS (0, 2)
