Anyone up for warring today? I should be free for most of the day. I need something to keep me going in between loads of laundry.

Word war, anyone? I need to get this story out of my head before it explodes out of me like some hideous alien baby.

More than satisfied, he thrust the letter where it dropped straight down as if it had been a rock plummeting to its splintery doom.
Several yards below, a blue Chia waited expectantly in the cold, though he was unaffected by it thanks to his thick parka. Upon seeing the letter he jumped for it and eagerly gobbled it up with his eyes as Turmaculus gobbles a petpet. His face fell, practically making a dissonant “thump” sound as it and his hopes were dashed and battered along the mountainside. The Chia gave a sigh heavy with resignation, and lifted his gaze to the Snowager’s cave. “Oh, Grandma…” he murmured, his eyes welling up at the thought of what she had once needed from the Snowager years before--
Now was not a time for memory, he thought, snapping himself out of his reminiscence. Now was the time for action. Now was the time for letter writing.
The Chia stamped his boots as he ventured into his igloo. He unrolled a large piece of parchment from his bag and began to compose a reply.
Dear Mr. Snowager,
I consent to your request and will tell you one more thing about what it is I need. It has never been sold in Neopian shops. But of course, this does not help with what you need to know, so I will say one thing more: my grandmother has to have it lest she does not rest properly.
Now you understand. Will you at last give me a price? I will be waiting in the same place.
Sincerely,
Desperate
The Chia frowned. The two Neopets he’d paid to deliver the letter before were nowhere to be seen, and the Snowager had had enough personal experience with him to blast him on sight. There had to be a way to get the letter to him unseen.
The Chia smiled and rummaged through the things he’d collected over his travels. He was not a master thief for nothing. His smile became a wide grin once he pulled out a bow and arrow. Very carefully, he tied the message to the arrow, nocked, drew it to his cheek, and released the arrow in the direction of the Snowager’s cave.
The Snowager once again curled up on his treasure for a nap.
382. Really not feeling this story and am doing schoolwork at the SAME time so I'm kinda burnt xD I'm happy with the progress regardless.

231! Not too shabby! Tuan scratched at his beard and nodded. “Fair enough. How about you and your sister help out with odd chores around the ship when you’re feeling better, and we’ll call it even. We’ll be making port at Meridell tomorrow morning.” His expression brightened. “Rest up, little ones! Perhaps I will have you assist Linae in taking inventory tomorrow!” he continued as he ambled back out into the hall.
“Let me know if you need anything,” Anshu mentioned to his two patients as he turned to a nearby table and began snipping herbs and grating roots.
Hyren turned his head to Blynn. “You know, you’d think I would have gotten used to the whole being short thing by now.”
She shrugged. “Must be hard being a big, tough guy in a tiny body.”
“You have no idea.”
Neither of them spoke for a while. Hyren lay back and listened to the occasional click-clack of the Kou-Jong tiles, and the distant rain pattering at the ship’s hull. Anshu faintly hummed a melancholy Shenkuuvian folk tune as he worked.
“You know what’s funny, Hyren?” Blynn asked.
Hyren smirked. “The Chia Clown?”
“No. The Chia Clown is terrifying.” Blynn stuck out her tongue at her brother. “Anyway. I was scared before, but… now I kinda feel like everything’s gonna be okay. I mean, we crash-landed on a ship going to Meridell, of all places. " I'm still trying to figure out how I want to work Blynn's and Hyren's emotions. Blynn is more intuitive than Hyren so I'm toying with the idea of her being more optimistic about the situation while Hyren continues to be cynical and paranoid.

Ooh, yours is interesting! Hooray for progress! Do you want to go again at all, or are you too busy in class? I'm screaming at my brochure so I think I'm done for now D: That's actually a continuation of the first ever story start of mine to actually win and to be continued by other people. I had an alternate direction in mind. c: How's your alien baby?

Hehe, okay. ^^; Good luck with it! Nice! That's a cool idea, continuing it in your own way. It's doing quite well! I actually just hit the 15k mark so I am super excited about that. As you can see, I've been doing a good deal of work on Worth Searching For, so there's a stuff that takes place between what I just wrote in the word war, and previous snippets I've posted. Which is good, because I don't want to end up revealing the entire story here.

Awesome! Want to start on the hour and go for half an hour, maybe?
I'm still new at them, but I've found they're very effective for making me work.

Awesome! Want to start on the hour and go for half an hour, maybe? I'm still new at them, but I've found they're very effective for making me work. Sure, works for me. I might get something to eat first, so I may start ten minutes late or so. But I'll keep tabs on time, no worries there.
