I really like how this character turned out  She's probably a bit standard for a mercenary character, but she should be fun to work with nonetheless.

Name: Ember Mason
Nickname:  Occasionally called "Sparky"
Age: 20
Appearance: Tall and lean with a lot of packed muscle. She has a somewhat long, sharp-featured face, with dark brown eyes and short, fiery red hair (for which she was named).
Personality: Generally easy-going and fun-loving, Ember doesn't seem to take life seriously. She lives for the thrill of the chase and the prizes that await afterward, and is willing to take on some of the shadier jobs. She does have her limits, though, and will not knowingly harm innocents. Despite her carefree attitude, Ember is exceedingly loyal to her friends and allies. Approaching the subject of her family tends to be a bit touchy, as she sometimes worries about the well-being of her mother and father.
History: Born to and raised by a pair of semi-retired mercenaries, Ember was regaled from a young age with stories of grand adventures and awaiting wealth. Wishing to join in on the trade, she was trained to fight fairly young and, when she was deemed ready, joined her parents as they came out of retirement. Ember originally planned to gain experience under their further tutelage and then begin working alone, but then a bad run-in with a band of thieves they were targeting nearly got her father killed and she began to reconsider. It was only the aid of herself and her mother that kept him alive that day, and she began to see the wisdom of sticking with a group. Though she has since left the shadow of her parents, it is not to work alone but to seek out the scattered Mercenary Guild and join their ranks.
Weapons: A shortsword, a bow with a small quiver of arrows, and a dagger hidden in her boot. The dagger is mainly for emergencies; she mostly fights with the sword.
Armor/Clothing: Light plating over her torso and upper legs, with thick grey trousers and shirtsleeves. She also wears a helmet and gauntlets, with dark gloves and boots. She wears a dark green tunic over her armor to better blend in when tracking targets in forested areas.
Skills/Abilities: Ember's main abilities lie in her strength and swordsmanship. She isn't very fast, but she is fairly nimble even in her armor. She has as much skill with the dagger as the sword, and while her ability with the bow isn't as refined, she's still a pretty good shot.
Other: As previously mentioned, Ember still worries for her parents. She generally tries to convince herself that they have one another to watch their backs, not to mention their impressive skill and experience, but she still hopes that they'll eventually "come around" and join the Mercenary Guild with her for added support.

Nickname: Sometimes called "Jerny" (though he hates that)

Appearance: Shaggy red hair, green eyes. Usually wears war paint on both cheeks. Ref pic here (though could probably use a new one >_>)
Personality: Usually somewhat laid back, but is very determined once assigned a task, and will stop at nothing to carry it out. Tends to be easily angered and otherwise doesn't smile much.
History: Grew up in a small village named Riverwell, where everyone was friendly to each other. However, that village was burned down by a rogue ninja and most of the citizens killed. He teamed up with a group of ninjas to track her down and kill her, and then joined the Mercenaries, where he's been ever since.
Weapons: A longbow, and two daggers for close-combat.
Armor/Clothing: Green shirt, leather pants, brown cloak, green gloves and leather boots.
Skills/Abilities: Has deadly aim with his bow, and isn't too shabby in close combat, either. Excellent survival skills; knows how to hunt. Also good at climbing, hiding in, and attacking from trees.

Okay so I'm putting two new ones in! Want a fresh start. I may be phasing out the old Merc characters. (Rose will not be appearing, nor will Cyborg. Midknight and Esme will appear to some extent.)

Name: Mindy Pi
Nickname (optional): "Cutie Pi"
Age: 23
Height (approximate): 5ft 9
Weight (approximate): 140 pounds
Appearance: A slim, but muscular young looking blonde woman. She has short pigtails, bold blue eyes and an innocent smile that hides only the most insane of thoughts. Mindy is deceptively strong.

Personality: Mindy seems like an innocent sweetheart, but she's actually a twisted former assassin. She often makes jokes in serious situations, which of course she laughs at, and can become very annoying very fast. She has a love for explosives, or as she calls them fireworks, so she may set them off just for her own amusement. She doesn't usually follow plans unless told to by her partner and girlfriend. She is known to talk to herself often. Her spontaneous nature often bites her and her team mates in the butt.

History: Not much is known about Mindy other than the fact that she spent too much time in Tabloid Town driving her completely insane and eventually became an assassin.

Weapons: Mindy always has her trusty metal hammer/mallet. It is brightly coloured (painted rainbow colours), has a long handle and the mallet 'head' itself is oversized, with the weapon standing slightly taller than Mindy. Mindy also carries a handgun, much like a Glock, and generally has numerous explosives on hand or nearby.
Armor/Clothing: A sleeveless black dress shirt covers a bulletproof vest, a black mini skirt with a rainbow belt, fishnet stockings, and knee high black combat boots.
Magic: None. Other than her magical personality of course.
Skills/Abilities: Mindy is skilled with the usage of explosives, handguns, heavy melee weapons, and is able to drive (though she often isn't trusted to).
Other: She is in a relationship with her partner in crime Rose Red.

Age: 25
Height (approximate): 5 ft 11
Weight (approximate): 145 pounds
Appearance: A slender, fairly muscular woman with green eyes and long black hair with several bold red streaks. She is quite pale.

Personality: Rose Red is the kind of person who stays calm under the toughest of situations. She does not talk more than she feels is necessary. She is cold and calculating when it comes to work, but can be kind outside of business.

History: Little is known about Rose Red's past currently, but she does have a history with several mercenary groups and was a hitwoman for a crime lord.

Weapons: Throwing knives, a glock like pistol, two wrist mounts(dual 2 foot long blades out of the top of each wrist mount and one similar blade underneath the hand.)
Armor/Clothing: A red tank top covers a black bullet proof vest. She wears black slim fit cargo pants, black fingerless leather gloves, a full length black leather trench coat, black sunglasses, and black combat boots.
Magic: N/A
Skills/Abilities: Rose has demonstrated parkour training, skills with bladed weapons as well as with handguns. She is able to drive as well.
