Randomly re-watched the videos of the factions currently open for the next Obelisk skirmish. I still love their art and music so much. I remember when they were unveiled one by one and the hype was incredible. Starting with the familiar Thieves and bringing back the Kanrik-hype, then catching us off-guard with the Sway, something never seen before in Neopia, linking them to the Thieves with a glimpse of the informant they'd caught. The epic music of the Brutes like a training montage. And then the culmination, the Awakened video, with a daring ghastly horror look and a sense of "they actually did THAT!!" Dreaming of a plot that would combine a story as developed as TFR and the level of art that went into these videos. They were so good. The music still gives me chills. Ditto. Having finally crawled out from under my rock, I watched the videos and I'm amazed at how far the quality of the art, animation and music have come, and that's saying something as I was around for some of their much older animation endeavors and art. I really hope for more plots and characters to be depicted this way, be they new or existing ones. Man. I feel so proud, y'all. Anyway, another comment from me: I'm super pleased that Rainbow Nata de Coco is an actual item. Makes me wonder if there is a Filipino somewhere in TNT, or someone who decided to include Filipino food in the ever-growing list of Neopian delicacies.

I'll be trying for the Vending Machine trophy on the first.
Wish me luck, everyone.

I have a number of dubloons thanks to Anchor Management and Coltzan and I'm not sure what to use them for. Train my non-battle pets (because my battle pet is too overleveled for the Academy)? Hit the Golden Dubloon? Buy another Weewoo and also paint it white?
Also not sure what to do with the Neopian Times Coin I got for issue 900. I finally have one after hackers absconded with mine, but I'm torn between putting it in my album or waiting to sell it so I can get closer to completing my NQII stamp collection.
Also also, I got a couple of my NT stuff TMGE'd including my 12-part series but now I'm starting to overhaul parts of said series so it turned out to be a good thing because I can make the plot less contrived, but EDITING 24K WORDS IS NO JOKE, PEOPLE.

Kat in my completely unbiased opinion, a Weewoo sounds like the best option of all times. I've got back into doing more dailies on the site. The order varies, but I always visit King Altador after King Coltzan, so as to do this: "Wow, thanks Coltzan! Wow, look at what this ghost Lupe king gave me!" *walks up to Altador* "So. What have you got. =/" King Altador hands you your gift... Welcoming Lupe Gnome Altador: "I have a mini-me with a cute hat. ;u; Plz accept?"

King Altador gave me a Water Mote. I wonder if he's telling me to raise a mote army to take over Neopia or something. Liou, turns out I don't have enough dubloons for a Weewoo right now. I forgot that Weewoos cost 165 dubloons. Double checked my gallery to see if I may have one hanging around but alas, no Weewoos in there. But I do have...a Meepit.

Lemme tell you, it feels weird having a Second Generation. (Amy was just having a big ol' moment of "feeling cute, might delete later" in there.) Early on, the kid would just color everything in a single large block, as evidenced by the Paw Patrol pups, but then we started showing him reference images and have reached this system where we line up the relevant pet in Neocolours and he chooses what color he wants to do.

Had a dream last night were I decided for my 100th submission to the Times, I did an article outlining Dinner with the Scarlets fun facts, past series and processes, basically everything about what I've written up to this point. Sort of a retrospective.
I was planning a comic series leading up to my 100th, but it's already over six parts, and I'm at 94 submissions currently. So then I was thinking about adding something at the beginning of the series, and having it start at the 100th submission. But honestly, the way the series is shaping up, while it's special, it doesn't really have much to do with 100 submissions at all. I could make it after my 100th submission without changing anything about it as it currently stands.
I'm unsure about having an article that's just about me, though. Like, I'm afraid it'd come off as pretentious or bragging or something like that, not to mention I've always found it hard to write about myself. Also unsure about doing an article when I'm known for comics.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Frankly, I'm just impressed that your smol is able to colour within the lines and so consistently.

Also unsure about doing an article when I'm known for comics. Any thoughts would be appreciated. TBH my 100th was kind of a fluke. I was hoping my very first NQII series (A Hero's Journey, issues 222-231) would hit 100, but it fell short and only got me to 99. My 100th turned out to be a short story collaboration (Venturing into Jhudora's Cloud, around issue 226) so it was a surprise when my collab partner said it was accepted and told me I was already at 100. So I understand wanting to do something special for your 100th, but at the same time, even if you aren't able to, your 100th will be very special anyway. Re: an article about yourself? Well, my issue 900 article (Thank you, Neopian Times) is pretty much about what the NT did for me and how it impacted my life, and it was so self-indulgent that I inserted stuff about me, even the part where I've been published over 100 times. My suggestion is to angle your article in such a way that it also doubles as a guide for aspiring comic artists who want to do continued comic series as well so it is part self-indulgence, and part help article. Talk about how you come up with your plots and how you come up with the kind of humor and art style that meets NT standards. ADDENDUM: No shame in writing an article even if you're known for comics! Maybe it's because I've been in all sections of the NT (even the editorial, haha) but I don't see a problem with this. You never know, it might galvanize you to make more written pieces for the Times. I hope I made sense.

I decided to submit a NT article about my 500 Nerk run
Wish me luck, it would be my first time back in the times in 7 years.

So. Lab Ray turned my lab pet into a disco Usul. On one hand, it's no longer a basic color, but on the other, I'm not really fond of disco Usuls. Guess I'll keep zapping until I get a species/color combo that I really like.
I could train my battle pet with the lab but I'm still afraid of messing up his species and color at a time when I really don't have the money to stock up Kacheek morphing potions and striped paint brushes. Aaaaalthough it could be an excuse to paint him a different color.
Also, looks like I came back at a good time when I can buy all the NQII prizes I'm missing (including one I lost from hackers which is now going for a fraction of its old price). I'M STILL SAVING FOR STAMPS but c'mon, I've always wanted to have all these prizes in my hands because Reasons.

This Neopets Mobile beta leaves me with a lot of questions.
Why is the site so slow now that the mobile view has rolled out to more people? Shouldn't the mobile pages reduce the amount of data that needs to be fetched? Why are most of the parts of the site not mobile yet? Why does Neomail not have a mobile view but Neoboards do? The reply textbox on the boards is still a little small. This feels like an alpha or pre-alpha product and not a beta. I thought the closed-beta period with premium users would already give TNT this feedback and the public beta would be closer to the final product?
Too many questions I guess. And I used to dread meetings with UX at work because those sometimes ended with "it looks terrible, change everything" conclusions. (Btw, not criticizing UX designers. UX people are great. They tell me how to make things usable.)

Yooyuball please stop sending out another Yooyu when there's one (1) second left on the countdown. What do you expect from us. What do you want us to do with that.
