I have an announcement that I want to put here because it's most relevant. Due to lack of interest, a lack of a truly original plot, and a haphazard method of dealing with the characters and the plot, I have decided to stop using my fantasy characters that I normally bring in. The characters in question are Starla, Reina, Kalina, Mekino, Datalia, Daira, and any other Shadow-related character. I apologize if this upsets anyone, but I believe it is for the best. Because I do not want the plot ideas to completely die, I will now put in what was going to happen for each of those characters, and state their secrets, so that no one may be forever bugged by what was going to happen. Starla worships what she thinks is a sentient star, who brings to her light powers and asks her to do its bidding. What Starla doesn't know is that the "Star" is actually a rogue program for a highly advanced computer simulation, which has been working to bring living people out of the program. However, the rogue program only has so much power, and it wants to be subtle. So every generation, the program chooses someone to do its work, under the guise of divine intervention. Starla was one of those people born in the program who was chosen.
The Shadows in the universe are the shells of those who had died within the program, but left traces of their selves. The program is not without fault, so it continues to use the data, creating the dark phantoms and the dark realm from which they came. All Shadows are full computer programs and couldn't leave if they wanted to, even if the Star found a way to get them out.
Kalina and Mekino were human, but had died and became the shells that are Shadows. They originally acted as they were before their deaths, but they have been infected with a dangerous computer virus that causes them to go off-program. Starla's efforts to find out what was wrong with them were partially under the Star's orders, who wants to investigate the virus to potentially use for a backdoor to hack into the system.
Reina is a cyborg who has gone mad with the conflicting thoughts from her human half and her cyborg half. Reina was part of an experiment by those who created the program to see if a human infused with computer parts could fit in better within the program. Reina was their prototype, but it was a failed experiment. When Reina the cyborg died, she became a shell, but found that she didn't truly die. She is mentally in a state of limbo, sending her through cycles of pain and insanity. Reina wears a mask because the whole process also damaged her face beyond repair, and she can't even stand to see herself in the mirror. Starla met Reina before Reina died, however. Only at the time, Reina was known as Destiny. Starla left for a small time, just enough time for someone to kill Reina. Reina--in her insane mind--blames Starla for what happened and thinks killing Starla will set her free.
Starla was slated to eventually find out Reina's true identity. Without any knowledge of the program, however, Starla is unable to figure out the source of Reina's insanity. Starla tries in vain to help the deranged assassin before she is forced to imprison her, being unable to truly take down the assassin.
Datalia is another of Starla's friends, though she is merely a program due to her Shadowhood. She has a part of the rogue program that detached from the Star and embedded itself in her upon death due to a bug, and so is programmed to help drive Starla closer to her goal. She is imparted with much knowledge, including the nature of the program. She is sure no one will believe her, however, so she merely makes suggestions and plays the field so that Starla will eventually reach her goal.
Starla would eventually have found out more about the Generals, and she eventually finds some beings who are actually the source code for the virus. Starla strikes them down, and then is possessed by the Star to examine the source code. The Star--having the knowledge it needs now--imparts one last message to Starla before hacking into the system and setting Starla free.
Starla will wake up confused, but with a new goal; to take over the complex from the programmers so that everyone may be set free, with the knowledge gained from her "deity". But then she finds out why exactly everyone had to be imprisoned in the first place, and the true nature of the programmers.
...Unfortunately, that's where I got stuck. I couldn't think of a motivation for the programmers that wouldn't pretty much copy the Matrix. It was already driving close as well. I've been trying to figure it out, but it was driving me up the wall. I thought about ending on a cliffhanger, but I figured that would be mean. And then I just couldn't figure out everything I wanted to about the specifics of the program. I couldn't justify everything, and I felt bad about it. And I couldn't figure out how Starla could be taken out of Shadowhood when she was supposed to be physically dead for months. So I kinda gave up.
Thank you for listening. But given the direct parallels to the Matrix and how my plot fell apart, I hope you understand my decision.
For pranking you.

Thank you so much for sharing, GLQ. I'm sorry that you can't keep the story going, but I'm really glad you told us.

I was busy writing down various subplots that I have running around at the moment. There are quite a few of them. *Floats by*That would be one of them right now. Shoo, you're not supposed to be herePft XD must catalog ALL THE SUBPLOTS It's partially to make sure I don't forget anything. Here, have some subplots *Dumps them on you* - The Tyrannian War is over, supposedly… but Ky refuses to return to work in town, instead continuing her training to be Battle Ready.
- During the course of the war, a spy in Meridell's ranks was exposed. The Citadel and Qasala are both now significantly hostile to Meridell. When will the Council lift the blockade along Meridell's borders?
- Shriek was asked to work undercover, but only now is he recovering from the traumatic experience. How will this affect his career in the Eyrie Guard?
- Who are the Covert, and what are they up to? Why has the Ambassador suddenly changed allegiance to them after years of being with the Knights of Meridell?
- Will Felix ever admit his feelings to Sheba?
- Felix is still without a permanent sword. He plans to reclaim Tisiphone's Edge eventually. When will he return to do so?
- Felix is dangerously overpowered, a condition not uncommon to Adepts. How can he find a way to protect others from himself without living alone in the wilderness?
- Will Miles and Klavier ever find out why Felix is so afraid of them? Will Miles ever learn the story behind the positive test for blood on Piers' sword?
- What is Alex even up to these days? Does anyone have any idea? Probably no one but Alex himself. Even the Writer is clueless.
- The Beta bots feel endangered by the town and the other robots who frequent there. All of the Light bots and the Reploids are listed as aggressive threats. Will a negotiation be worked out before they are attacked?
- Cardinal is now being actively hunted due to the actions of his double. He is becoming increasingly resentful of his other. Will he be able to work things out without getting hurt and causing his brothers to lash out in retaliation? Will he be pushed to the point of retaliation himself?
- Despite several of them finding permanent jobs, all of the Beta boys are restless. (Well, except for Pisces.) Having tried both working and community projects, what can they do to stave off irritability and boredom?
- When will Nico's brothers tell him that Roll is here, and how will he react when he learns they've been keeping it a secret from him for almost three months? Will they get back together?
- The injuries sustained in Empire of Corruption are still under a hasty field-repair. With Ky gone, the Beta bots will need to do more formal repairs on their own.
- Jaden is considering getting some Swiss Army Appendages to replace his drills. He desperately wants to be able to manipulate other tools and interact with biobeings and delicate objects, but he finds the idea of having his drills replaced very uncomfortable. How will he resolve this?
- Why do the database problems persist, and what is causing them?
- What happened to Viper, and where is he now?

*Cardinal is sitting in the living room, running a self-diagnostic to see if he needs an oil change. He feels particularly tense, much to his further annoyance. As he is brooding and listening to Mannheim Steamroller, his cell phone rings again. He looks at it in annoyance, but picks it up when he sees who it is.* *Slips his fingers into his hair, tilting his head back* How did you even get this number? "From one of your brothers. Didn't know you use the phone now, but hey! You're the one I ultimately wanted to talk to." I'm listening. "Did you know there's a bounty on your person?" *Takes off his sunglasses* *Flatly* I do have a few enemies, yes. I'm listed as dead for a reason. Look, Axel, if this is your idea of a joke— "Excuse me? After what I've been through, you think I would joke about something like that?" I don't know, you're the assassin. "You really aren't taking me seriously, are you. I'm telling you, there are signs going up all over the town about this. 'Dead or Alive', it says, but I'm willing to bet you wouldn't stay alive after capture." *Puts his sunglasses back on, shaking his head* I don't see any reason for you to lie to me, but I don't see any reason for you to call me, either. Given your record, I'm more inclined to think this is more likely to be part of a scheme to keep me out of town. Just go tell the Ambassador that I'm not going into town for a while. Whatever stupid disaster has torn it up now isn't going to make me get all bent out of sha— "Look, I worked with your family for a while, okay? You seemed like pretty okay guys. This isn't a poster for you, it's for your double." Beg pardon? "It only looks like you to people who haven't seen you both. So I might go after this guy myself, if I see him. From what I hear, he's really ticked some powerful people off." You're going to do what. *Sits up, leaning over slightly and glaring behind his visor* This is not funny anymore. Do you have any idea the kind of problems it would cause if you went after a Light bot? As if we didn't have enough problems! "I'm a mercenary of sorts, remember? I can't pass up something this big. I really don't see how it would make things any worse than they already are. It's not like you sent me or anything. If he wants to make it into a humans-versus-robots thing, that's his problem. And he'd probably lose."*There's the sound of a fire being lit with a FOOM from the other end.* "I'm not going to be the only one out hunting, but I might be one of the only ones who recognizes YOU from your double. You catch my drift yet?" … *Slowly realizing he's not being lied to* For just once, I'd like a day without other robots causing me headaches. "*Mutters* Finally… Rough luck, I know. Sorry dude. Good luck."*Click!*
