I'm probably going to be too busy with uni work to take part in this year's April fools, but I really like the idea of a nega-boochi showing up and turning pets elderly

Not that I don't like the anti-Boochi idea (I really do, I think it's pretty funny. XD) but wouldn't it be kind of hard to do with only five species currently able to be painted Elderly?

That'd actually make it believable, since currently you have to wait forever and ever and ever for your relevant pet day and hope against hope that your pet will become available in this color this time around. With all those new colors they've been churning out, it's a pretty big pool of luck to draw from. What do they have now, Eventide and Wraith and Woodland and 8-Bit and generally a whole bunch where only a few species are available in each. Weren't those Lutari beads doing just that? Giving you better REs or higher chances for good REs? *dug into Jellyneo* Apparently they gave a slight discount when haggling in shops and could increase your game scores. But they were so exclusive and Lutari-island-only that they never got much cowbell.

Well, one of the colors is supposed to give you increased RE's, according to the bead's FAQ on Neo. Also you can GET the beads through REs, so they're not entirely limited to that long-dead cellphone game. But yeah, they're so rare and no one is really sure they help, so no one pays them much mind.

I think the bizarro-boochi idea is really good. I think its either that, or neopia... IN THE FUTURE.

How about a Neopia where magic was replaced by science? Or does that fall into the future setting?

I still like the "NT becomes a serious publication" idea a lot, but I'm fine with whatever we decide. Nega-boochi could be funny to work with, too. DoctorTomoe: That's a very cool idea, but I'd want to specify that further if we go with it. Are we talking an event that actually removes magic from the world, an alternate continuity, or a massive retcon by TNT where magic just isn't a thing in Neopia and supposedly never was? (Maybe as an attempt to get rid of the site's kiddie image and make it "grittier"?)

NT as serious publication sounds fun, although it doesn't lend itself much to stories, and there's only really a handful of comics and articles... maybe we could squeeze a lot out of it, but it's probably better to go for a prank that gives loads of options without too much thought. x3
Anti-Boochi and Neo in the future both sound awesome. ^^

I've always held that a good prank is one that people want to be true. Because this way, you throw them a little suggestion and their own hope takes over and feeds the prank and makes it that much harder to dismiss. Remember Faerie wars and the year when Neo remade all pets? The Llamameeah got so big that they released Gnorbus.
Would there be enough suggestions to set up a poll now?

If we need more ideas...
Tying into the "Neopia in the future" thing, perhaps we could pretend it's issue 600 (or 650 or what have you, if everyone feels it'd be too close to the actual 600) and do the usual shenanigans, or perhaps make reference to some as-yet-nonexistent event (perhaps a plot portion to the Obelisk War if none ends up happening) that happens right before that issue.

But not many people do something specific for the special issues. There's almost always a "What should we do for issue #x00?" thread. XD

Okay, following suggestions of the past two pages or so got at least one positive reply:
- Anti-Boochi - Occupy NT - NT turned into a serious newspaper (perhaps even with paid subscription... NC-NT) - Neopets in the Future - Special Negg - Suddenly, one of your pets (or maybe everyone in Neopia) has incredible luck. As if they'd taken a Felix Felicis potion from Harry Potter
Enough for a poll? (I could list the other suggestions as well, but I think if it did not get a positive reaction in the discussion, chance for it getting a vote is pretty slim...)

Probably enough for a poll now, yeah. Leave it open for 3/4 days? And you might as well put the other options if there's room (which there should easily be =P), there *might* be a silent majority. =3
