It is a very weird feeling wanting to hug and comfort a villain. >__> Agreed! But now I want more background on Regina. Like what happened to her mom? 'Cause Regina's all "I hate magic!" and then mom disappears and Regina's all "Bwahaha! I have super awesome dark powers of evil!"
Also, writer is Belfaere but then actually not Belfaere? So who is he!?

He's Pinnochio! I've been telling Zylaa that for weeks and this episode confirmed it! Bwahahah! Robert Carlyle is an amazing actor. Rumpel/Gold is who the entire series should be based off of.

I've been saying that for weeks. XD The show can be called "Rumplestiltskin: better than everyone and knows it." I cannot wait for the last three episodes. And I heard a rumor that Belle will be in the last two episodes of the season, which I really really hope is true. <3 That's what I'm watching for, really. XD Edit-- To go on more about how much I adore Rumplestiltskin, I love how almost all of his interactions have such subtext and underlying emotion. Like this exchange in the latest episode. I love, also, how the full quote is "Let's not talk about intent, intent is meaningless." "Intent is everything." "Please." He's hurt so much thinking about it that he bothers to command the queen not to speak about it. ... Although I can't decide yet how lightly he tosses around "Please."

No, wait a minute, I'm confused here...
What was Rumple's motivation; why did he help seal everyone in the world without magic if he was planning even before then to bring magic into the world? Why did dropping the true love magic into the well cause a massive wave of magic to enter the world? Why did Regina smile when to her everything is basically reset to the status quo before she cursed everyone? I know true love's kiss is supposed to break any curse, but why did it break THE curse and not just the curse afflicting Henry? Who shot J.R.?
Wait, scratch that last one, I don't know how it snuck in there...

Wait, scratch that last one, I don't know how it snuck in there... Rumpel didn't seal everyone away. Regina did. He simply invented the curse, and his motivation for inventing it was covered already: to return to Bael. He wanted someone else to cast the curse and pay the sacrifices, but he made sure he would be aware of it and let the ability be broken. He was planning for this for a long long time.
He says magic is power. Could be he wants to rule this world. Also could be he plans to use magic in the world now to reunite him with Bael and find him (or his descendants or so).
The well had the properties of returning what was lost. He dropped in Magic (the most powerful magic), returning magic to the world. (Regina's, his, etc)
She smiled because now her magic is back and the game has changed a bit. Gives her something to hold onto since things were looking pretty bleak before.
And it broke the curse because of Rumpel's meddling and preprogrammed "pressure valve." She caused a happy ending to occur and a very powerful True Love magic to break that curse. Could be a shockwave thing (like a magical nuke), or could just be that her using TLK was like opening the flood gates of the pressure valve that she is.

AAAAAAAAAAAAA pretty much sums it up. I loved almost everything about this episode-- I really wanted Rumple and Belle to have a more dramatic thing than "I love you!" "And I love you too!"
But Maleficent! That was fantastic! I loved when Emma threw aside the sword and started shooting at Maleficent, since that was so perfect for her character, and I loved also the homage to Disney and the sword-throw-at-chest defeat.
I can't wait to see how the second season will play out. Mr. Gold's demeanor with Rumplestiltskin's powers should be even more epic than usual, seeing Rumple and Belle interact all the time will be amazing, and I can't wait for Rumple to seek revenge. Basically I have high hopes that next season will get even closer to my ideal show, "Rumplestiltskin: Better Than Everyone and Knows It."

Hey looky there's a thread on a show I like And I discover it after the finale Anyways, at least I can share my thoughts on the finale: While I've heard a lot of praise for the finale switching everything, I actually wasn't too happy with the way it ended. I mean the whole point of the show for me was that we could see fantasy characters in action as well as down to earth counterparts dealing with more realistic issues. Now all of the realistic portions have been completely erased, no more Mary Margaret, no more David, no more Love Triangle, no more Regina and Gold tipping toeing around the truth.
Of course everything else was epic and I'm definitely not giving up on the show yet. I've heard rumours that Cora and Red are both being promoted to stars, and we'll get to see Ariel and Aurora next season so I'm really looking forward to that!

I'm just going to miss all the real world personas that we came to love.

So, anyone watch the season 2 premiere. Even if it's different from what we're used to, I thought it was still pretty epic. And then the twist ending!

Mulan. Mulan isn't a fairy tale character, is she? I thought she was an original Disney character, kinda like Simba only not a cross between Shakespeare and an anime. I hope he doesn't show up next. Simba, I mean, not Shakespeare, although it'd be weird if he showed up too.
And when she first took off her helmet, I even saw it coming. "Asian woman...? Oh, please don't be Mulan." "My name is Mulan." "DANGIT!"
Anyways, that's just my two cents. I loved the twist at the end.
