Well, if there was one thing to be thankful for, it was that the gondolier had at least waited until they had reached the other side before he got into his little snit.

Also the last line of 4000-word-long chapter one! *glees*

And so, an hour later, in shoes that probably ranked as a form of torture themselves, Tom’s revolutionary persona took its first uncomfortable, wobbly steps into the world.

And I have successfully written myself out of that dilemma with the same last-minute desperation as the characters themselves. XD

When your city is at war with a race of magically-gifted immortal entities you learn to accept a bit of weirdness into your daily life, but this was all hitting a little too close to home.

I'm having a lot of trouble balancing the inherent weirdness of this story with the sort of accept-it-and-move-on tone that will be necessary if I even want to consider getting through all the things I have planned for it. xD;

Pay attention Ari! Wait, never mind, you're not paying attention to him because you're busy listening to the people sneaking up on you guys to try and murder you. Okay, carry on...

I love my FMC, she's not even that fleshed out yet, and I just came up with her a few days ago, but it's like love at first sight <3

Not technically the last sentence, but the last one I wrote. One of the characters describing one of the other characters in sort of an "ohsnap they know who that is" reveal. :B

Later on, Crick would try to describe the sound in more vivid detail, but the closest analogy that he would ever get was that it sounded, "like a cow giving birth. To a tractor."

I... honestly have no idea. xD;
