;D This reminds me so much of the deadline-list I compiled for the upcoming months and the preparation Pep-Talk we intend to send out among my NaNo-writing group. (I hope I get to write the preparation one, as it'll include such helpful tips like doing as much laundry before November as possible to reduce laundry and ironing for November, to fill the freezer, buy enough pet-food and mood-food which will last ) Hope you can get your lists done.

Thanks, Chao ^^ And that's a really good idea, getting household stuff taken care of in advance as much as possible. That's so cool that you have a whole writing group, I only have one friend NaNo-ing with me this year (so far). Good luck to all of you (but you most of all ;D)!

October 22nd - 9 days left
I've determined that I need the soundtrack to Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 for this story.
Chapter thirteen was completed several days ago. No way in heck am I going to be done with book 1 by October, but that's okay. There's a certain point I need to get to before I set the novel aside for the month, though, so I have to keep writing like a madwoman for a while longer.
I also found out earlier this week that my friend and I are probably going to be moving into our new house sometime late November. We're both doing NaNo; this should be an interesting challenge.
Book 2 plotting progress - I've fixed the bigger plot holes, but realized that I don't have much for my protags to really do besides run from bad guys. So I'm thinking I need to add another conflict that puts them in a different setting, one where there's a bit more for them to do. It won't come into play immediately, so I'm not too stressed about it yet.
I've sketched some character pieces for my desktop, but I'm not sure I'll have time to scan, outline, color, resize, and place them all within nine days =( We'll see what happens.

Gah, I'm sort of worried about getting everything together before NaNo starts too--but you seem pretty organised, so best of luck! ^^

Thanks, Bre, and so sorry I didn't respond earlier! Best of luck to you as well!
November 3rd Not much to report so far. This book has been interesting in that there's so much background to cover; I've only now wrapped up most of the exposition, and I'm still missing big chunks that I just couldn't find a way to work in. Guess it wouldn't be NaNo without new challenges.
On a totally unrelated note, the novel's soundtrack so far: 1.) Lily's Theme - Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows Pt2 2.) Godric's Hollow Graveyard - Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows Pt1 3.) Heed Our Warning - Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen 4.) The Gray Lady Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows Pt2 This soundtrack will become much more action-packed instead of just dark and gloomy pretty soon, promise =P
In the meantime, have the "trailer music" for my novel:
My hope is the novel will eventually be cool enough to actually match.

Wow, you're right, the Harry Potter soundtracks are fantastic! =) Listening to "Lily's Theme" now; it's so sad and beautiful ...
You seem to be doing really well with your word-count! Great job, keep it up! ^^ <3

...Wow, I sort of forgot this thread existed. Anyway.
Hit 20K today! Also finished chapter three early on today. I'm realizing I need to shorten my chapters in general, but I'm still getting them done at a really motivating speed. I can spend months on a single chapter outside NaNo - it's always such a shock when I get three or four done in a month.
Prince of Persia music and the Transformers 3 soundtrack have now joined my soundtrack list. Well, not my official iTunes playlist, I'm only able to listen to them on YouTube. But they're in my heart, where it counts. <3

Finished Chapter 4. Today's section was fun to write, although I was frustrated that it took me so long to get to this particular scene - I've known exactly what I wanted to do since Saturday night, but had absolutely no time to write on Sunday. Fortunately I'm still good on word count.
For the moment, actually, I'm beating my friend in our unofficial word war!

Y'know, some year, I'm going to have to do a completely unpublishable novel for NaNo. I hate feeling like I can't share excerpts because what if I publish it someday and then someone from here reads it and knows who I am and aaaaaaahhh D=
To be fair, though, there's not much I would want to post at the moment. I'm in the middle of a long, kind of dragging scene that I'm hoping I can finangle my MC out of by tomorrow. I guess it's just the lingering effects of Week Three, which is historically my version of Week Two.
I passed 30,000 words yesterday ^^ Should've posted then, but oh well.

Ah, I know exactly what you mean about excerpts! D: So many people post so freely and I'm just sitting there going ;-; What if I want to publish?? ;-; I'm sure that you'll pull your MC out of whatever boring scene s/he's in and you'll find more enthusiasm soon! Love! Bre <3

I'm with you on the posting excerpts thing. XD; I usually write the stories with the idea in mind that I'll eventually have them edited and posted/published, so then I never post any excerpts during the writing process because most of them I consider extremely spoiler.
It's even worse this year considering that I'm writing a sequel this year (like you seem to be doing, yourself) and that most of the plot points I'm using this time were major revelations last time, so I'm kind of like "everything I post requires a mile of context" <_>

Heh, I'm glad to hear I'm not alone in not posting excerpts ^^ It seems like everyone and their grandma are doing it.
And on the sequel writing - I know exactly what you mean, PFA D= I'm posting chapters onto my RL writing group's website, and I feel so sad because all the major plot points from book 1 are being spoiled.

50,005 words!
Phew!
So this year was one of the more...interesting. I nearly didn't make it at all, there were days when I didn't write, and this's the first year I've finished on the final day instead of a little early.
This book probably has a record, too, for excitement-centric plot devices, bland description, and aggravating accents.
But oh man.
Here I am.
And it feels pretty gosh darn good.
B)
Good luck to those of you still racing the clock - you can do it!
Congratulations to those who have also crossed the finish line - you are amazing daredevils, your persistence knows no bounds, and no matter how rough your final project is, I hope you can treasure it.
And congratulations to those who started this mad, mad project, and made it to any wordcount - you are incredible for taking on this challenge in the first place, and those words you wrote might not have existed had you not been so very brave.
This is Tiger...
Collapsing into a vegitative state.
