Ooh, I absolutely love the coloring on that.  And the fact that it makes her look so much more sinister. >) I'm useless on art advice, but it's looking awesome so far. What will you be doing with the squiggly lines in the background? |

*sigh of relief* Now, quick question--should I crop this before submitting it to the Art Gallery? Composition has never been my strong point, and I think there's too much negative space in this picture. |

It probably wouldn't hurt to crop it at least little bit for the Art Gallery. I'm pretty bad at resizing and stuff like that, so I can't give good advice on that, but some stuff could be cropped without losing too much, I think.

Wow, Nat, that looks amazing! I really like the contrast between the dark background and the brightness of the character. The different textures are great as well. It's such pretty art!
I'm having a bit of trouble judging composition in the sense of truly seeing how much negative space there is in the picture because it doesn't fit my screen, so I never get a full-view of the whole thing. ^^; But I think overall, as a standalone picture, it is fine. For the Art Gallery, however, I would support cropping it, because the smaller the canvas is, the less you will have to shrink it, and you won't lose as much detail. Plus, it'll look better on the thumbnail.

I hope it'll get in! Although making it into the AG is still like a shot in the dark for me. ^ From an art project I'm working on for English. And since this shall be my art thread, I might as well throw in my other drawings for reference. ^_^ |
