Menacing society is menacing. ... Also, yes, that is a lovely complex history. =D And interesting. Definitely interesting. I figured you guys had something worked out between you, and ha, now I vaguely know what it is. Ha. And the phrase 'headcannon' makes for more amusing mental images than it really ought to.Yay! ^^ Yeah, this is something we've had planned out for awhile... I mean, Alien Aishas. We talk a lot about Alien Aishas. We've talked a lot about Alien Aishas for years now. XD I misspelled it! D= Only I'm kind of glad that I did, because you're right, it does give amazing mental images. Totally worth it. =)

Yay, we have HAPPENINGS. Although I have been really bad for keeping up with the daily word count. Oh well. “We’re honored to meet you, my lord,” Aendelami said, slightly flustered. She looked to NaKaranth for assistance, but found him to be stiff and standoffish, examining their host with narrowed green eyes. It appeared she could not expect help from that front. “My name is Aendelami, and my companion is called NaKaranth. We’re very sorry to bother you on such short notice--”
Alesandran dismissed her apology with a wave of one hand. “Please, do not concern yourself about small details. I enjoy company on the rare occasions I manage to get it, and I am not unprepared for surprise visits. Speaking of which, I was meaning to ask you when you intended to begin your stone inspecting. Are you on a very strict schedule?”
Unsure of where exactly this was going, Aendelami answered, “No, not really. We can begin at any time, my lord.”
“Excellent,” the Lupe smiled. “In that case, I insist you take full advantage of my hospitality tonight and wait until tomorrow to begin your work. I have some very nice guest rooms that generally get very little use, and my kitchens are more than prepared for two more mouths to feed.”
Aendelami could do little more than nod dumbly, but at least she was making an effort, unlike some other pets she could care to mention.
“This meets with your approval? Dinner will be... shall we say 7:00? I’m otherwise occupied at the moment, so I’m afraid I can’t offer you a tour today, but I’m sure you’ll be wanting to settle into your rooms now. I’ll send someone up to get you when dinner is ready.”
Forcing herself to respond, Aendelami nodded again and managed to find her voice to say, “Thank you for your generousity, my lord.”
“Ah, yes. I have only one other requirement from you,” Alesandran said, a glint of humour in his eye. “As I reminded Flora, I don’t require an impressive title in my own home. For as long as you’re my guests, I’d appreciate it if you could refer to me as Alesandran. You are not my servants, so I see no reason why we should stand by such formalities. Also,” he added, looking specifically at Aendelami, “I’ll have a different dress sent up to you for tonight. I apologize for that, but it seems Flora’s vindictive streak is considerably wider than I had first guessed.”
Aendelami flushed red under her white fur.
“Please don’t be embarrassed--you still manage to make it lovely, milady. On the topic of titles, how would you prefer to be addressed in the future?”
“Aendelami is fine,” the Zafara said quickly. It was more than fine.
“Aendelami,” he said, testing the word, and Aendelami felt a private thrill to hear him pronounce the name for the first time ever. “A beautiful name. It does credit to you.”
Her blush flared up again, for entirely different reasons.
Alesandran was looking at her with his mouth half-opened and Aendelami felt sure he was going to say something more, but just when it seemed he would, the moment was shattered by NaKaranth’s raised voice. “And I’m NaKaranth. Weird name I know, but my parents were the sort of people who liked to dance in the woods at midnight and speculate on the medicinal properties of morthog kisses when combined with different types of stardust. It’s quite the thing. Anyhow, we’re both very pleased to meet you, and we can hardly wait to begin scouring this castle for unsafe stonework. You might say it’s our passion in life. Nothing makes us happier than a stable construction built according to exacting specifications, and nothing makes us more angry than loose pieces of stone sliding off of roofs and clouting innocent passersby on the head. Right, Aendelami?”
Of course, he would pick this exact moment to finally decide to say something. Also, here's a rough sketch of a picture I started a month or so ago and haven't inked or coloured yet. >> It's on really bad paper, okay? And I've been easily distracted lately. But I figure it's at least okay to put up now that both characters are actually in the story. I may change some things still, but I really will try to finish it when I get the chance.

Loveliness! And the feel of that picture is so idyllic and pretty. I am now gleefully expecting something to go Horribly Wrong.
... Though I don't see how anyone could like admittedly charming Lupe-lords more than NaKaranth. <3

Your illustrations are lovely :3 And I love the idea for this story. Keep it up! Thank you! ^^ I've been trying very hard to keep it up (hopefully I will succeed)! Loveliness! And the feel of that picture is so idyllic and pretty. I am now gleefully expecting something to go Horribly Wrong. ... Though I don't see how anyone could like admittedly charming Lupe-lords more than NaKaranth. <3It's a fair assumption that things will go Horribly Wrong, since this story will probably be pretty long and there's still a lot of plot left to get through. =D It's the 'how' that I'm hoping will be a bit of a surprise, although I don't know how obvious I'm making it or what. ^^; NaKaranth also perhaps has a bit of a problem with this particular charming Lupe-lord. XD Such fuuunnnnnn.

*beams* You write Alesandran better than I do. Or, um, did. Once. ...Would?
He is so charming! And polite! And yes it's just excellent and I won't say anything else. xD;
(Yeah, still totally rooting for NaKaranth in this exchange, though. xD; How can you not.)
