Been watching an anime recently. A huge theme is found family between teenagers, often where parents aren't in the picture or aren't prominent.
And I keep watching. And wondering.
Where and How are some of these random found family teens getting such good housing?
In good condition and are not abandoned places?
And how are they keeping it??
I don't think I could afford those places with a standard salary!

YouTube..... I don’t know why you think I’d want to watch someone like Stephen Crowder.... or why you’d give me a 92 minute ad for him before my video.

Thorn did Stupid Thing at work again- this time so stupid nobody has done it before.
When I was scribbling down my feelings on that Stupid Thing, I suddenly remembered being handed the item that lead to me doing the Stupid Thing, and feeling pressured and worthless and a little intimidated in that moment.
And I felt so much better because I know it's not just me being an idiot. Things were intense at the time, and I haven't heard the end of this but at least I have an excuse beyond 'I am stupid and don't pay attention.'

So I'm trying to have more program capability from my personal machine (which doesn't have as much computing power, but juuust in case, and I wanted to have it anyway), and I'm looking at documentation that'll help me customize my set-up. Sometimes I get a link to a GitHub or something that has stuff.
So I was checking one out that really simplified a lot of things... And the About section read:
Yes, yes I am.
(Though I guess not that much; I ended up not getting it. But I kinda wish I had that at the beginning. xD )

I don't know whether it is just me noticing them more or there is an increase this year, but I have been seeing more than a normal amount of swifts in my area. It's not a huge amount, because this is a small town and still swallow/martin country, but it's still nice.

I finally get to watch the Blu-ray bonus features of Frozen. First one is "The making of Frozen." Sounds standard enough, let's watch...
*is treated to a song and dance number where they repeatedly sing, "How did we make Frozen?"*
Okay, not what I was expecting, but still fun.

Green rubber gloves and bearded dragons don't always mix, especially if the green is hornworm green. Poor poor confused Leap, sticking his tongue out and finding out my fingers don't taste like food.

Found a butterfly on my way to food shopping. It was missing an upper wing corner, which is not good news for a butterfly. It was right next to a car's wheel. Probably not the best place to be. I offered it a hand to climb on because I happened to have hands with me, and not much else, and what is one to do. Butterfly: well don't mind if I do \*climbs on my hand* Oh. Okay then. I was now walking down the street with a butterfly on my hand. Uh. Now what. I walked past some flowering shrubs because there are bright flowering shrubs everywhere at this time of year. Would you care for a flowery branch, leggy friend? Butterfly: nah. I'm climbing up your arm now. Now walking around with a butterfly on my arm - edit: shoulder. Butterfly: also I'll hide behind your back because there's less wind there. Hold on, hold on. I have two different bags with straps moving about my shoulders and I do not want any of those straps to squish you, leggy friend. Butterfly was actually sitting on my messenger bag's strap, so I took the strap and gently pulled it, so that the butterfly was properly sitting on my shoulder. I kept checking my reflection on car windows to check that it was still safe and unsquished. Found better flowering shrubs next to a dog park. Would you care to get off here, leggy friend? Butterfly: hold on, I'm busy climbing up your neck now. Oh, okay. Then it climbed up my ear, of all places. In case you were wondering, when a butterfly climbs up your neck, then your ear, and onto your hair, it feels just fine, a mild tickle. So. Now walking around with a butterfly on top of my head. I had set down my bags while attempting to find a place to leave it, and was sort of gingerly shuffling around with a butterfly on my head, and a few people walked past but probably did not notice the butterfly on top of my head, so it must have looked quite weird from their point of view. Once butterfly had reached the very top of my head, it finally managed to take flight! And swooped down and landed under the bush where I'd been trying to leave it. Alrighty then. Wasn't sure how else to help, left a juicy fresh flower next to it just in case. Anyway I had to take the next bus. On my way back, butterfly had successfully moved from the place where I'd left it, and the same flower looked like something had been messing with its center, so that's something.
(Checked species. It was a scarce swallowtail.)

Parents: Hey, we got a couple juice boxes if you want them.
Me: Yeah sure. *pours juice into a glass, mixes in some vodka*

Time problem number one - what kind of school starts in August?? ;_; Time problem number two - a school uniform in 2020??? Scottish schools start in mid-August (they break for summer at the start of July...normally) and require uniforms. Most schools in the UK require uniforms, actually. It's just The Thing here. xD

Public school in the US starts mid-August as well. Gives about two and a half months of summer break as the school year generally ends near the last week of May. (Which sounds to be longer than UK summer break, probably since the UK has longer/more evenly spaced breaks during the actual school year I think? (outside of summer, longest time off I got were two weeks of winter break and one week of spring break (and maybe a few days’ break in November). Everything else was a day off for a holiday or teacher development, maybe the random snow day. (although I also remember my high school started a new schedule while I was there, where every other Tuesday was a half day. Not sure if they still do that.))
With uniforms, the concern there may be that needing one indicates going to school in person?
