Duke Pikachu I'd like to believe that they added it in so as to be inclusive of trans men, but that sounds too good to be true... Especially if they're marketing this to a gender instead of like, a phenotype.

Nng, the pregnancy/nursing part of medical leaflets is a wild world. I'm pretty sure that it's a mandatory part of all leaflets, and a very frustrating part it is too, because 95% of the time it's either "no information, consult doctor" or "hahaha, don't even think about it". The things I can use during pregnancy are paracetamol and essentially nothing else. The things I can't use include my child's nose spray, which is specifically intended for toddlers aged 2-6 and explicitly forbidden during pregnancy and breastfeeding, BUT there's no observable effect on operating vehicles or heavy machinery, so good news on that front.

"Mairi is stealing underpants again" ...Duolinguo why is this a sentence you are trying to teach me in Gaelic?

"Mairi is stealing underpants again" ...Duolinguo why is this a sentence you are trying to teach me in Gaelic? Well just in case you see Mairi taking away someone else's first layer of bottom clothing after having done it previously, of course. Though at the same time it does sound like a sentence Pierre Escargot created. And yes, that is a young Kenan Thompson.

Norm Feuti's syndicated comic strip, Retail, ran its final installment yesterday. It was a great strip with excellent characters and engaging storylines that made a point to move the status quo forward, and it helped me appreciate retail employees and their struggles a lot more. ='D
*raises glass* Here's to you and your characters, Mr. Feuti! I'll look forward to reading more of your graphic novels. ^^

So, just go these multivitamin pills since I've lately been reading dietary and health articles and figured I should try being a bit more healthy and they suggest taking a multivitamin specially made for your gender is one good way to do it. Alright, so I got NOW's ADAM Men's Multiple Vitamin Tablets (Superior Men's Multi). So I'm reading the instructions to make sure I'm going to take them correctly when I spotted an interesting part of the Caution label (and remember, these are pill specifically made for men): Um, what? I literally did a double-take. And go ahead, check the link to the site's page for the product, it's on there too! BEFORE YOU SAY ANYTHING, yes, upon thinking about it for more than a minute it's likely on there for both legal reasons (while it's made for men it's not that women can't take them, they're just vitamins and minerals) but also they do have other multivitamin products for woman and both genders so it's probably also a generic warning they put on all labels. Though still, funny at first glance. Coincidentally, not only did you make that post the same day that my multivitamin arrived from Amazon, but it was also to refill my NOW-brand Eve women's multivitamin. My choice of their Eve capsules was that it uses more bioavailable vitamin forms (e.g. for biology fans, it uses the P5P form of vitamin B6 in addition to only the pyridoxine form). That and it was on sale for less than $6. But yes, the former weighed heavily into why I got a women's multivitamin, if that provides a different perspective.

When we were on the cruise to Sweden a few nights ago, my phone absolutely refused to find any ship wifi, and since we were at the point where we had to hook the child up to the TV and the only cartoon channel it showed, I had to resort to watching some umpteenth new reboot of Scooby Doo with him.
It was unironically the BEST EPISODE. Behold:
Mark Hamill is in Japan for his old highschool reunion and just as he's done giving a speech to thank his old drama teacher for getting him into acting, a fox monster runs in and kidnaps said drama teacher. Hamill teams up with the Mystery Machine gang to track the fox monster down to the Inari shrine, where it's apparently after some legendary long-lost sword.

There's a documentary on Netflix about cat memes and online cat personalities, so all in all a pretty lighthearted film. Except that I love cats so much that even the smallest sap story with one gets me weepy.
I pull up the film. A minute in and there's tears in my eyes. Nothing has even happened yet, just. Cats on video and the opening credits.
I'm not much of a crier in general, and I think it's because all my tears are reserved just for cats and nothing else.

really wish (won't name the person here) would stop loudly saying things like "we need to loosen gun laws to arm the workers against the capitalist regime" when we're out together in public at a restaurant. stop it. please.
(not a mini-rant because it's kinda funny... but also kinda infuriating. so it goes here.)

Working out by going to the gym: - Expensive
- Does not use all your muscles unless you switch machines
- Nothing to show for your achievement at the end
Working out by painting walls: - Free
- Uses all your muscles
- You have a painted wall at the end of it!
(Exhibition setup is coming along nicely but I am so tired.)

While I was trying to fix my computer (to it's now mostly-useable-but-still-has-some-issues state), I had a lot of downtime due to not having my laptop, and I had to think of ways to fill in my downtime. One thing I ended up doing was something I'd been meaning to do for a while; try out the Duolingo Japanese course. Because I always wanted to learn it.
The first four lessons are on hiragana practice, which gives me an idea of the language structure and starts teaching me some of the writing. Cool beans. I'll practice that over and over. Then for the heck of it, I went to the first Intro course after that, despite not feeling like I got the hang of all the hiragana.
"Alright, let's teach you some basic phrases!" "Okay, cool, nice to see how they apply and to know a few more words and phra-" "And jump right into the katakana!" "Uhh... little early, I'm barely getting the hiragana. I guess it's fine in places-" "And now here's a bunch of kanji!" "@_@;; I'd like to get the basics first, plzthanx?" "Oh don't worry about getting it all or knowing the structure. We're just gonna let you absorb it! ...But we're still gonna penalize you if you get it wrong." "If you want me to be competent, lemme get that baseline. *Goes back to the hiragana practice.*" "Hey, you're doing well! Wanna skip to the next level of this?" "What part of 'practice' do you not understand?"
Duolingo may not be the best option for this. Not alone anyway. I should've taken a class. xD
