Let me try that. I don't think it's a skill anyone should put on their resumé but that knowledge is definitely a +.
(Huh. That's considerably easier. Thanks Coaster! ^^

Even if I loook up the codes, I generally forget sometime later. I don't use them often enough to really want to memorize any sytring of numbers.

Usually if it's anything other than e with an acute accent, I do trial-and-error until I get the right one. xD They're all in the range from mid-120s to 160s, anyways.

My mac has a function where you can hold down the specific keys and spme different variants will pop up, which you can select with the number keys.
It's pretty useful but it is't as fast as typing alt codes.

That sounds very convenient, Icon. I wish there was a Windows version of that. Especially since I can't for the life of me ever remember the alt oddes. xD
((...codes. I meant codes.))

One good way to get back on track is to use the bumps on the f and j keys. Those are where your index fingers should be. It'll help you type on the home row. ^^

This sounds fun. Lemme try.
It's kinda easy for me though because I almost never look at the keyboard when I type. Got used to it because the lecturers at university go super fast and I just have to keep typing and looking at the slides at a fast speed without pausing.
^ With my eyes closed. Again, it was easy but it's still a fun game!

Ok. I've never actually tried this before, but I am now. Right now I-m typing much slower than usual. And thinking about it a lot more.
Noe to try to type my normal speed with my eyes closed. I don't think this is working with error corrections...
(Okay. Eyes open now. Edited to add... Ha! I did just as well typing fast, and that included actual error corrections, which I assumed would look something more like this... "I don't think thiss--is working correcitonsd==ly with error correction." <--Somewhat intentional errors there..)

My eyes are cloooooosed, I'm just typing awaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay. This is a song about my glorious typing skilllllssssss. Whooooo!!!!
I usually type while talking to others and making direct eye contact with them so this is pretty simple. I'll just start typing whatever comes to mind. Went to see a movie show, found myself an empty row, now the show was just alright, same old Saturday night. I really thought that the papers I bought, would help me forget you for a whilllllle, but believe me honey, the funnies weren't funny, they didn't even make me smile. We the people, in order to form a perfect union, establish justice, prmote domestic tranquilityyyyyyyyy, do establish and ordain this constitution for the united states of america.
My keyboarding skills aren't the best though. For example, to reach the letter 'C', I still use my index finger instead of my middle finger, and sometimes to capitalize a word, I use the shift key on the same size of the keyboard instead of the opposite side. And sometimes when I type 'P,' I use my ring finger instead of my pinky finger like you're supposed to. I'm trying to relearn all of this but old habits die hard.
(Huh, didn't do half bad, though admittedly I kinda cheated and used bcksp a couple of times when I was sure I messed up sooo . . . XDD)

All right, you showoff. XD I used to have trouble writing the name Brewer and words like anxious, but with the former, I was an intern under her for a year, so I learned how to type her name in a bunch of letters we had to write on her behalf, and the latter...I guess it's mostly a muscle memory thing. If you think about it, words are little more than combinations of letters, at their basest and purest form. Some combinations are rarer than others and those are the ones I have trouble with. Quirky words, xenial words, fuzzy words, basically most things in my left hand I have a little trouble with.
Another problem I have--I type too slow for myself. Either when I write I want to go 100 miles an hour but can't cause I'm restricted by my current speed, or write nothing and my fingers are itching. For me, there is no in between. XD
*opens eyes*...
huh. XD
