Obviously it hasn't, but it had been a couple months.

(Actually, I'm happy you got the reference. I guess it is possible to win even without having the last post.)

Every high school dance I've ever attended made sure I would know the reference

High school dance? That was my middle school P.E. class. (and, of course, the dance unit was the only thing that was not terrible about it)

I first heard that song in 6th grade. Heard it again through various times in my school years. Even heard it once at university.
It's been a while, though.

I've probably been doing it my whole life (or at least when I started public school) to be honest X) Another thing they played was the Cupid Shuffle, but I only first discovered that because of those dances, so I never got into it (not that I was passionate about Cha Cha Slide either, but at least it was familiar).

I'm not familiar with the Cupid Shuffle. But the Cha Cha Slide (is that what that song was called? I never knew, I always just knew it as "that song") definitely stayed prominent.
But I probably heard it less than others because I stopped going to dances after middle school. I went at first to... I don't know, I guess to try it? But I never got anything out of it and even got something of mine stolen at one of the dances, and it was loud and booming and... yeah, I don't miss them.

Why would they have dances in middle school though?

They were small scale compared to high school, and nowhere near as hyped (no one was out buying their dress a month before, it was mostly casual wear, less than half the school showed up). It was mostly just to give students something fun (to make up for their lack of high school status) and try to build up school spirit with.

Huh. My school just had end of the year "parties" and occasional field trips before breaks.
