Swash: ...Alright? *turns and starts walking away, but non too quickly* Clarendon: *continues to slink along* ((I suppose now is as good as any time to bring up the debate on whether or not the Maverick virus is compatible with a Rinamian robot (without some special tinkering from knowing hands). Before the Maverick Virus was called a virus [the 'Evil Energy' that MegaMan mentioned], it was shown that it didn't just affect/get spread by Robots; Humans could be a part of the equation, too. And I'd say there's more difference there than between computers and- you get the idea.)) ... Well if you're going to do something, now would be a pretty bad time. Strength in numbers or that sort of thing working against you. ... ... ...I guess we'll probably just have to wait and see how things play out, then. ...So we are just gonna stand around and do nothing. Whoo hoo. *groans* Air. Seriously. Shut up. I've seen it before. I can try- MegaMan, I know what happened last time. You didn't really go against it directly, and you know what almost happened by chance. This would be walking right in, you're bound to get hit with it sooner or later, and that Double guy's not here. ... You're really that concerned? Er...

((Goodness. That's one rotten virus. And here I was thinking maybe the Betas could get it, but not others... Anyway, why is it that MegaMan and Axl are immune to it?)) Since Zero is the carrier and they hang out with him all the time. And what about everyone else at the base? Swash: *walking along* Mmm.... Clarendon: *watches the dance and stops where she is, figuring she's close enough* *glances around to see what and who else is around in the area* ...So the Maverick Virus infects Reploids, but "Evil Energy", the thing it was derived from, infects humans and robots alike. It uses the evil inside someone's mind to turn them evil [and of course, it's from space. Everything from space in the Megaman series is super powerful X33 ]... yeah, it sounds it will effect Rinamians

((holy- that's one rotten virus. And here I was thinking maybe the Betas could get it, but not others... Anyway, why is it that MegaMan and Axl are immune to it?)) Since Zero is the carrier and they hang out with him all the time. And what about everyone else at the base? Swash: *walking along* Mmm.... Clarendon: *watches the dance and stops where she is, figuring she's close enough* *glances around to see what and who else is around in the area* -edit- ...So the Maverick Virus infects Reploids, but "Evil Energy", the thing it was derived from, infects humans and robots alike. It uses the evil inside someone's mind to turn them evil (and of course, it's from space. Everything from space in the Megaman series is super powerful X33 )... yeah, it sounds it will effect Rinamians *patrolling the area around the dance**there doesn't appear to be a lot of stuff besides the Dark Elves, and a bunch of foliage* Chi-ka-ra... mi-chi-ru. Fu-ki-tsu no to-na-e-ru. Wa-ta-shi-ta-chi mi-chi-ru. Fu-ki-tsu no to-na-e-ru. Well first, I'm pretty sure Zero's not a carrier anymore. A Maverick Hunter (not sure if you know who) sought him out while he was still a Maverick, and barely managed to come out alive after knocking him out. However, it seems that the way that he knocked Zero out (and possibly the circumstances) caused that Hunter to not only be infected, but become the next primary carrier. (Aaand it looks like the signs started showing right away.) Plus, after he was KO'd Zero was studied and quite possibly modified back at the base. Though I'm pretty sure there's still a slight residue, or something. Axl is immune because of a design that was made in an attempt to make Reploids immune to viruses. It's actually connected with his ability to shapeshift. I think the basic idea is that he can take on other coding to modify his abilities and whatnot, but it's only temporary. However, it's not foolproof. In fact, I'm reasonably sure Axl contracted some form of the virus at the end of X8. It's probably going to be the focus of a game that occurs between X8 and Command Mission. (Maybe it'll explain why Axl's eyes seemed to change color...) As for MegaMan/X, he seems to have some sort of power that counters the virus, like Duo, except he doesn't know about it yet. Maybe it hasn't been unlocked, or something. I'm not entirely sure how he got it, but I have a couple theories. He's not completely immune – he'll be harmed and often confused if he gets too much of it – but he does appear to at least be resistant. Yeah, that's pretty much it. 'It finds the darkness in someone's heart, makes it stronger, and multiplies! It must be in the hands of someone truly evil if it has spread this quickly.' or something close to that. However, I'm pretty sure that in X5, it was mentioned that some Humans got infected, too. So I don't think it's so much that only Reploids can get it as it is that they're more vulnerable to it.
But yeah, I figured if it was FROM SPAAAAACE! and it affected Earth 'Bots, then compatibility probably isn't much of a variable. I've seen it before. I can try- MegaMan, I know what happened last time. You didn't really go against it directly, and you know what almost happened by chance. The MegaMan wiki said Sigma went months without showing any signs of having gotten the virus from Zero [And, Sigma was designed to be resistant to the virus]. And apparently Zero is a carrier, and that's why he .... wait, you have played all the Megaman games, right? I don't want to ruin anything for you XD Swash: *goes invisible and floats over the tops of the trees* Clarendon: ....oO(Who was shooting earlier?...)

I don't want to ruin anything for you XD As for the darkness thing, Clarendon hasn't got much to work with xp But having no resistance to viruses at all... Swash: *goes invisible and floats over the tops of the trees* Clarendon: ....oO(Who was shooting earlier?...) Well, I kinda considered his irritation to be a sign, but then again, I suppose one would be irritable after having his arm knocked off and nearly having his perfect record ruined. :U
Hmm... Like I said, I figure there's at least a residue of the virus or something. Maybe it mostly spreads when he's out on the field, subconsciously tapping into his 'true self' for the sake of battle? *shrug* I really don't know. That part hasn't really been touched on. Maybe he's not spreading it so much at the moment because his body is still trying to pick up enough of it to 'purify' itself (as Sigma put it). *another shrug*
I've played all the X games except the one on PSP, which basically is a remake of the first X game, IIRC. I'm pretty sure I've played all the classic MM games except the console ones. I've played all the Zero games. I haven't seen ProtoMan's or Bass' ending for MM10, I haven't finished MMX: Command Mission, I haven't finished Zero 4, and I haven't seen all the endings for X5 or X6. However, for the ones where I haven't beat the final boss, it doesn't seem likely that the Virus is mentioned (except maybe Zero 4, for which I've been partially spoilered), and Strife has told me about the other ending for X5, aaand I think I got most of the pertinent stuff from X6. I don't think the Battle Network, Starforce, or ZX series are relevant to this discussion.
If you're talking about what I think you're talking about... I think it has something to do with the virus being 'anchored' to him (and possibly Sigma by extension), or maybe with how events work out in X5. I don't really know. It's another thing where I haven't seen the specifics touched on. *the trees make it harder to see what's down beneath them, but it seems there may be a disturbance in the snow/ground* O-do-ri to u-ta-u.
