So a bit over half a decade ago, some paleontologists started taking a serious look at cracked-open dinosaur bone fossils. Eventually some of them (most infamously Mary Schweitzer) found that many of them contain soft tissue, flexible blood vessels with blood cells inside, etc.; i.e. dead (though very old) raw meat like a cadaver, underneath a relatively thin layer of stone. In estimated 65-million-year-old bones. (Either some freaky preservation, or carbon-14 ain't as reliable as Social Studies class tells you.) Paleontologists had figured that over that time period, not only would dead meat surpass its own chemical lifespan of a few thousand years, but environmental radiation (which bones "absorb like crazy") from uranium and thorium would wipe out any biomolecules. Even today, shelving a blood vessel for about a week leaves nothing recognizable. In years since then, more than a few similar cases have been found where this is the case. Of course, there was a whole lot of controversy over the first few, typically claims of sloppy science, etc., because everyone had always assumed that fossils, once fossilized, were basically reduced to geological formations. And nobody seems to have mentioned this to the general public over that many years until I found out about it yesterday. >_< Citation: Original articles wouldn't be accessible to most people, but a search by name (or that link near the top) contains some of the results.

So apparently the calorie counts on American food labels are rounded. I only discovered this by looking at the different-language nutritional information labels on a box of Pocky sticks.

For years, I've been finding that my keyboard randomly (or so it seemed) and spontaneously switched layouts so whenever I tried to type / it would type é, ' would type ` and so on... and it's doing this right when I need to format my paper with the margin in inches, so I look up "why is my keyboard typing é" and... first result... fixes it. It switches between one of several layouts (three on my keyboard) each time you type CTRL+SHIFT. which is part of the key combination I always use for the hide interface keybind in MMOs, so no wonder that's where I had it most of the time... and it would have been useful to know this when I was taking French class online in high school instead of having to memorize all the ALT+numpad combinations.

I'm one of the few people I know that likes the Tears for Fears version better. I think it's because I'm old.
Edit: Now I've got to go put on The Hurting
Edit edit: Songs from the Big Chair is a better album as a whole.

I realized that the circumference of a circle (2πr) is just the derivative of its area (πr2).
Don't know if that has any practical application, but it's still pretty neat.

I learned that studying too much at one time turns your brain to mush, which is embarrassing if you have a question and your professor tries to point you in the right direction and you still look totally clueless.

There are dolphins that are naturally pink, either as children or as adults (two different species).

Also, it is very difficult to play this game with any trace of netlag, and nearly impossible at this one part.
