Robyn! Remember your GIF of Mike, Servo, and Crow staring? I remembered which episode it came from. It's from the end segment of 0912-The Screaming Skull. Favorite episode? Oh gosh, I don't know... I like their riff of Deadly Bees, but the Gamera vs Guiron one was so fun to make fun of...

*Returns Glomp* Being Canadian, "The Final Sacrifice" holds a special place in my heart (XD I once tried to adapt it into a Podcast series about Rowsdower and Troy "fighting crime throughout North-Western Alberta").

I knew I'd seen it before, and then I rewatched some segments from Screaming Skull. ^^ It's such an awesome stare. XD Most of my time watching MST3K is spent watching shorts, so my repertoire of episodes is limited. XD; Maybe I'll watch Final Sacrifice next, though.

AND HOLD UP WHAT'S THIS ABOUT A PODCAST OF TROY AND ROWSDOWER FIGHTING CRIME THROUGHOUT NORTH-WESTERN ALBERTA. THIS SOUNDS LIKE SOMETHING I NEED TO HEAR.

I'll definitely add you to the list. <3 (lol -does the biggest fan dance- nah i'm sure if you looked hard enough you could find a fan as big as me) (which would of course then call for an epic fan-off)

I think it's great satire. XD We kinda just wrote some script bits, never actually recorded anything, but me and my friend though it'd be a cool idea to to a podcast inspired by a line in the episode "And they fought crime throughout North-Western Alberta". XD Exactly what it says on the tin, really. Troy and Rowsdower foiled alien invasions, wheat smuggling rings, and Americans illegally immigrating to Canada.

ROBYN WE ARE OFFICIALLY TRADING FAVORITE TV SHOWS
Someone tell me what MST3K is.

-cracks knuckles- Alright. Let's see if I can explain this to the best of my ability.
~Premise~ Once upon a time, there was a man named Joel Robinson. He was a janitor at a laboratory called Gizmonic Institute (just another face in a red jumpsuit). He did a good job cleaning up the place, and he was also an inventor, because everyone at GI, even the janitors, were awesome at that kind of thing. Joel was really friendly to everyone and pretty much just a mellow kind of guy...but unfortunately, that's exactly the kind of thing his bosses hated.
Dr. Forrester, the lime-green lab coat wearing mad scientist, HATED Joel. He and his fat crony TV's Frank conked Joel on the noggin and shot him into space. Now Joel is trapped in Earth's orbit on a dog-bone shaped ship which he affectionately refers to as the Satellite of Love, or the SOL. He is forced to take part in an experiment run by his captors in which they try to see which terrible movies are bad enough to make people go insane. However, what they didn't count on was Joel using the parts they gave him to start and stop the movie to build his very own ROBOT PALS in order to help him maintain his sanity.
Joel created four robots: Cambot, the one who is filming all of their goings-on and essentially whose eyes we're all watching the show through; Gypsy, the female robot who's in charge of maintaining the higher functions of the ship; Crow, the gold, smart-alecky, adolescent robot; and Tom Servo, the cute, sophisticated gumball machine robot with a VOICE OF GOLD, you would not even believe.
So, every week Joel, Crow, and Tom Servo are forced to watch another terrible movie. This could be a really horribly dubbed Japanese monster movie, an awful 70's horror flick (so bad it isn't even scary), 50's alien attack movies, and more. Sometimes the Mads (what Joel and the bots call Dr. Forrester and TV'S Frank) will also throw an old serial short at them, but it doesn't really matter in the end, because they're all really good at making fun of anything that comes their way.
~The Show~
Each show begins with the theme song. Over the years, it's changed just a bit each time, what with cast members having to leave and being replaced, but at least the tune has remained the same all throughout. It pretty much hits you over the head with the blunt end of the show, like I've done above. Then we have what we call 'host segments', where Joel, Crow, and Servo are usually having some sort of silly, pseudo-intellectual discussion or argument, getting up to hijinks, anything like that. After that comes the invention exchange, where the Mads contact Joel and force him to show them the new invention he's come up with for that week (Joel's really good at prop comedy, so it kind of played to his strength there). The Mads show theirs, which is usually pretty dark in nature, and then they tell Joel what movie he'll be watching for that week, and the rest of the episode is spent riffing tirelessly on the movie. There are host segments thrown in between, and then they read a letter from a fan at the end.
I might've gone a little overboard in explaining it, but I invite you to watch the very first short of theirs I ever saw: Undersea Kingdom, Part 1. This was tacked onto the beginning of the first episode I ever saw called Attack of the Giant Leeches. The host segments for that one are hilarious, as well as the movie itself, but I thought that might be too much to throw at you for right now. So enjoy the short! :3 I really wanna know what you think of it.

-glee-
8D If you're going to watch episodes, you can find a bunch on Netflix, Hulu, and Youtube (although it's sometimes hard to find videos that haven't been removed on the latter because of stupid copyright issues).
EPISODE SUGGESTIONS: Joel Era (Seasons 1-5): Time of the Apes (my personal favorite episode), Attack of the Giant Leeches (my first episode), Pod People, The Girl in Lover's Lane, Gamera vs. Guiron, Santa Claus Conquers the Martians, Tormented, Manos: The Hands of Fate (the worst movie ever made), Mitchell (Joel's last episode)
Mike Era (Seasons 5-10): The Brain that Wouldn't Die, Outlaw, Girls Town, Zombie Nightmare, Laserblast, Space Mutiny, Overdrawn at the Memory Bank, The Final Sacrifice (probably my favorite Mike episode), Werewolf, Puma Man, The Touch of Satan, Hobgoblins, Soultaker, Final Justice, Horrors of Spider Island
...that's probably a lot of recommendations but it doesn't even make up half of the whole number of episodes ^^;
