FOR SOME REASON (probably because I hate myself) I am doing this even though my ability to form words is basically nonexistent and I have never written a story with a coherent plot. I'm sure you're all as thrilled as I am. I'm probably going to use my idea from last year (which never got past 10k due to moving 300 miles away + comp trouble) and I'm not gonna lie, it's pretty much a trainwreck. Part of me doesn't want to pick it up again due to it being written with a lot of the feelings/problems I was dealing with at the time in mind. And of course there's the fact that it's a giant mess. And then on the other hand there's the fact that I am honestly just too lazy to come up with anything else. Plot (HA!) details/synopsis to follow. All the notes and summaries I have already written for it are a year old and more often than not collections of random words like 'shovel' and 'masochist' so I'll have to write up a new one that's actually postable here. But before that I'm gonna need to find a container for my excitement.

D: It might be worth it coming up with a new idea? Because then everything is like OHMIGOSH THIS IS NEW AND EXCITING and not all 'oh, this again, I've done this already sigh'. But either way good luck! =D It's always worth doing. And no one writes a coherent plot in NaNo. Seriously.

I'm considering that now, actually. >_> As much as I enjoy this awful story and want to see it done at some point I realized I have zero affection for it at the moment. So I'mma try to come up with something else in the meantime. 90% sure that no matter what it is it will end up as gay superheroes and moon people within about three chapters. Oh boy.

Well, gay superheroes and moon people is not necessarily a bad thing. =D And hey, it's NaNo! Anything goes. =D And I quite agree, usually a brand-new, never-written idea is nice, because then the shininess factor lasts longer.
At any rate, very good luck with this. =D

My thread title is now wildly inaccurate because I have no idea where this is going. Seriously, I got nothing. Wait, that's not entirely true. I DO have something(s) but they are all terrible like every one of my ideas ever. And of course there's just a week left before I gotta write.
I'm hoping I dream something interesting but all my dreams lately have been vague and creepy (not in a good way) or nonexistent. So I dunno.

I hope you think of something? D: And I'm sure your ideas can't be truly terrible, not all of them. If nothing else, you might be able to sorta splice multiple ones together, to make sort of a hybrid breed - stronger and more interesting than the ideas would be individually!
... And this is what I get for only sort of paying attention in Bio when we talked about genetics. xD But still.

I was considering that but I think it would make it even more of a mess than it would be anyway which is saying a lot. D:
And yeah I haven't really settled on anything other than the vaguest of vague things and November is only three days away. I know it's hard to tell over the internet but I am actually kind of freaking out and panicking right now.

If you look through these here threads (and, I'm willing to bet, the NaNo-forums) you'll see you're definitely not the only one. xD If all else fails, you can just plunge into the NaNo-sea with no idea of where you're going, and see where the winds and waves of words take you. Almost certainly will end up horrible, but horrible in entertaining, interesting ways!

Whatever you end up writing, it's certain to be a fun and educational process. In the end, I'll bet you'll find your ideas aren't as bad as you thought. Keep us updated and good luck!

Thanks you guys. <3
Actually I scratch what I said before. Not all my ideas are entirely terrible. I'm going with my instinct on this one.
More later but for now, a title. What could it meeeean

/super late “Humans are stupid.”
“Aren't you a human?”
Lucy raised an eyebrow at me, saying nothing, she probably felt it was all there in her expression. Just because she was one of the species didn't make them any less hopeless. Or something like that. I propped my head on my hand with a sigh. “Then what are you going to do about them? Humans, I mean.”
There was a pause as the strange girl seemed to consider this for a moment. I knew better though, her response was instantly planned with a flash of those cold blue eyes.
“Kill them all.” The sixteen year old Lucia Strange finally answered with a grin. So basically my novel is a. first person which I absolutely loathe writing in but lately third just isn't working for me and b. some sort of mess of genres. I have it listed as 'Horror/Supernatural' but it's far from scary. It's not really solidly comedy all the way through like I usually write though. Basically, it's a mess. But I like it, which is okay but the weirdest feeling. I don't hate it and it's not terrible but I don't love and adore it either. It's also, as I probably going to stress a million times NOT a vampire novel. Yes there is a vampire in it and he has a major subplot which will take up probably the first major part of the thing until I get the actual plot (HA) into gear but he's a side character at best. I really need some proper character sheets but I haven't worked out anyone besides the three MCs. This is what happens when I don't decide on an idea until two days before it starts I guess. Excerpts and a synopsis soon maybe when I've written enough to warrant them. :3 EDIT: and that's when you know it's time to stop writing for the night.

and that's when you know it's time to stop writing for the night. You should change the bit about a thingy that drills into a reference into Gurra Gurra...uh, Toppa Gurra? Toppa Gurra Gurra something or other? Can't remember the name...uh...the show with the drill that puts a whole in the sky or something. ...I wonder if that's a sign for me to stop writing for the night >>
