Long story short, some poop hit the proverbial fan yesterday and I got to write a grand total of zero words. The friends who pose these insane challenges are rather understanding of sudden, unexpected situations that have to be dealt with, so I have until tomorrow to win my bet. But, the world count total has increased to 70k.
Currently sitting at 55,311, which means that I have 14,689 words to go (YIKES!) Not sure I can write that many words two days in a row, but we'll see.

Thanks  Currently chilling at the library, waiting for the next NaNo Twitter sprint to start so I have a kick-start motivation for the day. Found a nice table with a plug, took off my shoes (not so sure they're okay with that, but I'm hoping no body will notice), and plugged into my iPhone for musical enjoyment ^.^ Unfortunately, the library closes at 5 (currently 1:20), so my ideal environment won't last long enough to finish. And...we're off! Edit: Potty breaks always lead to procrastination, don't they? You let yourself get up from the computer, and you just can't resist the urge to tab over to the internet and check your email, your forums, all that good stuff. So, I cut myself a little slack and here I am ^.^ Library closes in just over an hour. (By the time I get back on track, it'll probably be an hour.) Current count: 64,004. Yeah, it was a good time to take a break. 6k more to grind out, and at least I've gotten to the exciting bits. I might have to jump around a bit to get out those last 6k, as I've hit one of those less exciting things. You know, the parts of your plot you use to drop the tension a notch before something REALLY exciting happens. |

Thanks guys I slept late this morning and am going for an easy 4kish for the day. Will probably stop at three though; I'm not really sure as I have class for the next three hours. We'll see what happens. I'm not as far in as I thought I would be at this point in the story, so it's probably going to take longer than my estimated 110k to finish up. I need a HUGE buffer built up by next week (hoping for 90k+ or so), because it's my birthday and a friend is coming home from college AND Harry Potter. So, yeah. Enjoying the fruits of winning bets, Phadalus. |

You know that point you get to when things start happening that you don't really expect? Yeah, I just passed that, sort of. I knew someone was going to try to assassinate her, but I didn't think it would be a character already in the story; I was just going to make someone up ^.^ This is far more interesting, I think.
