Aster looked to the machine in the center of the room. It was the instrument used to contact the sun, a prized, intricate piece of machinery that was highly valued. He doubted that there was another one like it in the world. Despite this, he felt that the best decision for everyone was for him to try to beat the crap out of it.
...How to annihilate it was another story. He didn't care if he had to destroy the entire observatory; he would do it. Aster clapped his hands together, making his palms face the contraption. With one hard push, he sent it sailing to the other end of the room. It crashed headlong into the wall, causing many jars to topple to the floor loudly. (None of them broke, of course.) The crash had been so loud that he doubted that there hadn't been a single person in the castle who hadn't heard it. He was sure that Madam Cantrell would be up there soon, spitting fire and threatening to beat the crap out of him as well. The prospect didn't sound pleasant, but he really could care less. Yup, that's pretty much the way the writing quality is going. XD It gets worse with the more I don't want to write, which is what I feel like 80% of the time. Still, 8.4k till the finish line~! Not much farther to go. I should be able to finish by Sunday, I think. If I'm lucky. Things will get busier by then, with Thanksgiving and all. *also wants to see Harry Potter* >_>

Thanks, Amnei, Rikku, and Yoyote! ^_^
The ending was pretty abrupt, but I really wanted to be done. If I were ever to go back an rewrite it, I would probably go deeper into a lot more topics. And explain a mess of stuff that I never mentioned/figured out for myself. (I probably should have done that anyway, but my mind was a mess. XD) I can see how what I'm exposing myself to can effect what happens while I write. I started off in the month reading a lot of Diana Wynne Jones, and near the end, I was watching more action-y cartoons. Most of it was whimsical while the ending turned out a bit violent. XD
Either way, I came out of the month with a really quirky story. XD I'm not sure if I would still call it an uncut gemstone, but I can't say I hate it, at least. It was a lot of fun to write, despite the November torture. A few friends are reading and enjoying it, so at least it's entertaining! XD As to whether I'll work on it again or not...I'm not sure yet, but it's an idea.
