Dare: Include a secret message somewhere in your novel. Bonus: If it has absolutely nothing to do with the story at all, if anything. Bonus: If it does have something to do with your story, but completely contradicts something that does happen in the story.
Dare: Have someone make a terrible pun. Then write about a brick flying out from nowhere and hitting them in the head.
Dare: Include a random superhero/supervillain subplot in which a superhero and supervillain randomly show up battling each other, in an epic battle to save the world. Bonus: Everyone ignores them and treats them as part of the scenery, not even bothering to learn their names. Double Bonus: You never expand on them either.

Dare: Have somebody say "Its-" before being interrupted. Double Score: If the interruption is a foot treading on them. Triple Score: If the foot then becomes a major character.
Dare: Have one of your characters mention "Rommel" Double Score: If they then give a lengthy explanation of who Rommel was. Triple Score: If Rommel shows up out of nowhere and does it himself
Dare: Include time travel in your story. Double Score: If said time travel is referenced by the phrase "a big ball of wibbly wobbly, timey wimey stuff." Triple Score: If due to said time travel the universe collapses. Quadruple Score: If this doesn't affect the plot.
Dare: If your NaNo is interrupted by a song and dance number which has nothing to do with the plot. Double Score: If you write an actual song for it.

Dare: Use the names of cooking ingredients literally. For example, thyme would affect time in some way. BP: If it isn't in a dream. DBP: If this actually makes sense in context of your story. TBP: If you manage to create a whole magic system based on this.

Dare Go find a bottle of your shampoo, find the chemical with the longest name, and incorporate it /somehow/ into your story. It can't have anything to do with shampoo, by the way (your character can't be randomly stuck in a bathroom and reading a shampoo bottle, coming across the chemical. ). Bonus If the chemical results/contributes to the major, epic turning point in the story Double bonus If your story literally had nothing to do with chemicals influencing the EPIC turning point of your story until now Triple bonus If everything makes sense and it's not weakly incorporated/randomly put in. XD Dare Mention the importance of cheese. Bonus Have two of your characters debate over how vegans cannot eat cheese, one of them being utterly serious while the other is arguing just for the sake of it Double bonus Actually have it work because of your characters personalities/lead on to another event you'd already planned so that it contributes to the EPIC TURNING POINT Triple bonus points Have it blow up the sun. No, seriously. Quadruple bonus Allow your characters to have an epic fight with cheese-strings (manufactured by Black Diamond) (c), and have it change the balance of the universe.

SOMEONE GIVE ME A STEAMPUNK DARE!
(Sorry if I'm writing in all caps just now . . . I just started my morning cup of coffee, and the sleepy haze is still there but I'm getting hyper off the caffeine. NOT a good combo. Well, maybe for NaNoWriMo it is. XD)
