Mage Manor is a strange place. You would find many things in there which seem too big to fit into the space available. As long as the mages needed them, the Manor would accomodate them.
The Duel Arena appeared on the ground floor and despite the floor above being perfectly level, the arena's ceiling was much higher than anything in the Manor. Much of it was empty, aside from a few anti-magic spectator seats. Everything else was walls and floor, all of which was designed to absorb magic. Beautiful runes covered the walls but they were only for decoration and to confuse people who thought that they would actually do something.
It was there that the duelists met. They knew the rules: Two would enter, one would leave. Then the other one would leave once they had cleaned up the place.
Celestial entered the empty arena alongside her opponent, Aly. Together they would test this place out and see just how much it could take. She walked to the far side and took her place opposite her challanger.
"Now remember, this is a friendly duel but I don't want you to hold back," Celestial said to her opponent, her fingers twitching to cast a spell. The mage bowed before her opponent, her wings spread out as a sign of respect.
She looked up with a predatory gaze. This was going to be one heck of a duel.
Celestial decided to move first. She swept her hands close to the ground, purely for show but you had to entertain people. A wave of fire swept out seemingly from the ground beneath her and headed straight for Aly.
She felt like she should make a bad pun right now.

((Ah...right. Celestial, do you mind if Aly brings her full stock of weapons (bow and arrow, flash powder, dagger, knives), or shall we leave it to just magic?
Also, I'm assuming that was ordinary fire...so yeah. ^^))
"Friendly...right," Aly said, nodding. For fairness's sake, Lika was sitting in the spectator's area, and they'd agreed not to communicate with each other. Having a second set of eyes was always a nice advantage, but she could fight by herself.
Besides, the Felyr was just as likely to mess with her as to help. Aly didn't want to take a chance with that.
Aly glanced at the wave of fire without skipping a beat, grinning as she searched for Celestial's form. It was like trying to slap the ocean by dumping a bucket of water on it. "You want fire?" she said quietly, shaping a crimson ball between her hands. It grew steadily brighter, waves of heat pouring off of it, a tongue of flame occasionally wriggling loose and stretching towards the ceiling before settling back down. "Try this!"
She tossed it up lightly, as though it were solid, and gave it a kick as it fell back to the ground. That was purely for show--she was controlling its path, roughly at least. But still. It was magical fire, her own crimson flame--she'd gradually crank up the temperature and see just how much Celestial could stand.

((Up to you really, although the flash powder would be an unfair advantage. Everything else is just fine by me. More of a challange. ^_^))
"I wanted to start easy but, since you insisted," Celestial quipped as she saw the flames coming towards her. Aly was showing offa little too much but she could respect that. Part of magic was fancy showing off anyway.
It was obviously no ordinary flame, just as expected. No matter, fire was still fire even if you spruced it up and signed it. Celestial swept her hands through the air, tweezing the oxygen out of it and gathering it all into a single ribbon of air in front of her. At the same time, the dragon mage layered nitrogen behind the oxygen to make sure the fire wouldn't continue towards her. As soon as she thought it was enough, she threw it at the fireball and watched as the oxygen ignited.
"Simple fire against a dragon? Don't make me laugh!" she said and flung the burning oxygen at Aly.

((I doubt the flash powder would actually be useful, come to think of it, but sure. ^^
Saruanu - Cutting Bone, the name Aly gives to her small carved-bone throwing knives. A few inches long.))
"Starting easy's just wasting time," Aly shot back.
Wind magic. Well. That would make things a little more difficult.
Aly grimaced and swept her robe off in attempted dramatic fashion, failing completely--it tugged off in an awkward jerk, still half-caught on her shoulder and half-billowing in the air. It still had the desired effect, though--namely, Aly had time to grab a few small saruanu from her belt as the burning oxygen hit against the cloth. The remnants, she quickly dissipated with a burst of fire shaped in a globe. It quickly gobbled the oxygen trapped 'inside' it and disappeared.
Well, that robe was about finished--between their attacks, even the fire-resistant cloth was starting to singe. "Ah, well," she muttered, ripping it off and tossing it to the floor. She tossed another ball of summoned fire, then flicked three small knives at the dragon and started moving quickly to one side, hoping to avoid any other attacks Celestial might launch.

Well, somebody obviously missed the class on how to look dramatic. Thankfully Celestial didn't. Her wings swept out from under her cloak and were spread widely apart, which was just for looking awesome with no effect on the fight at all. Presentation was important.
Aly threw several small knives at her, which was frankly fairly pathetic. Celestial swept her arms around herself, whipping up air currents which swirled around her at great speeds. The knives were caught in one such current and were whisked away only to be thrown against the wall uselessly. Aly however was by now moving. Well, two could play at that game.
With a few sweeps of her wings, Celestial flew up over the fire mage to the top of the arena. From her vantage point she could see everything and predict Aly's path. A tornado descended upon the arena and began chasing Aly, while Celestial remained above it all.
((Celestial is in human form, which means she has limited flying ablities. Dragon form is too big for the arena.
Besides, these wings aren't just for show. xD))

Oh, sra. A tornado? She started moving faster, though it wasn't going to be near enough to do anything. With that thought, she dropped into a crouch, and lay against the floor.
Well, the saruanu were more of mook-dispatchers than anything...the thoughts raced through her mind. Daggers were out, arrows were just as likely to rain on her...she briefly considered the idea of smelling salts, then realized that she probably didn't want to kill her nose for all eternity.
On the other hand...
She grabbed her bow and felt for stiff, regal feathers, yanking out an arrow. The mage rolled over and loosed. Griffin feathers, while rare and really, exceptionally expensive, did have the advantage of hitting their target despite anything short of huge barriers and destroying it. Even with winds and a potentially moving target. She could spare one or two here.
The buffeting winds slammed into her frame. "Sra!" she shouted, crouching and rolling out of it as best as she could. Then she started running again, irked at how silly she must look doing this...
Oh, right. Not fast enough. Well, at least she landed on her side and not her face when she hit the ground. Stupid tornado.
((Griffin-fletching will make an arrow hit. Where it will hit is an entirely different matter, and up to you.
Also, what form is Celestial in?))

Several arrows came at her from Michelle's direction. Celestial tried to dodge but they were clearly not ordinary. One tore into her wing, sending her crashing into the ground. The tornado disappeared as soon as she lost concentration. The other arrow followed her down.
Celestial watched it, waiting until it was close and at the last minute rolled out of it's path. It slammed into the ground and was still. She gritted her teeth and pulled the other one out of her wing muscle, throwing it onto the ground. Flight was lost to her but the mage was now even angrier.
"You will pay for that," she said, trying to stay calm. With her hands in the air, she whipped up all the air in the arena into great whirling currents, sending them closing in on Aly. Flames erupted from them and surrounded her in a coccoon that would have been almost impossible to escape. Celestial grinned as she closed the whirling flames around her fellow mage.
