What does "kudos" mean? Essentially, it means "congratulations" or "well done". ^^

As a naive little college student, what does "Happy Hour" at most places usually entail? It used to refer to the hour after work let out and people would go get drinks; places would have deals and discounts. Now it just refers to a specific period of time during the days/certain days when you can find deals on drinks, snacks, appetizers, desserts, etc.

Is it possible to get into a college with a GPA below the one they set as a minimum/standard? :/
I want to go to the UW, but I don't have a 3.7... it's like, 3.6 or something.

I'm going to be starting applications soon. All schools look at things other than grades; for example, extracurriculars, community service, leadership positions, etc. Go for it! Don't worry!

I don't have any of those... I guess I could figure out how to do community service at maybe a hospital or something...

XD Community service is optional, usually. A lot of high schools have community service clubs actually. See if your school has any? Community service is usually a bonus; a lot of schools I'm applying to didn't even mention to put it on their applications.

Regardless of whether or not you have what you think a college is looking for, if you're really interested in going to that school, apply! The worst case scenario is you won't get in and only be out $50 or so for the application fee. Best case scenario, you get accepted to the school you want to go to, instead of wondering if it ever might have been. College acceptances are never based on strict guidelines. One person with a low GPA and great extracurriculars or a great essay even can get in, sometimes over someone who has a great GPA and no extracurriculars or a really terrible essay. There's not really a specific thing you should do to guarantee acceptance. Just put the best representation of yourself forward and it may get you what you want.

Good luck getting in, then! (Sincerely.) Except tuition's going up, so...yeah. But still, it's a great college as far as I can tell. As far as the GPA thing, I can't really answer that...But yep, having extras does help. I think volunteering if you can find the time is good, and extracurricular are as well...show a lot of 'diversity' (that word was written all over my application for a major. >.<) I wish I could help more with the college application process, but I'm not a great example of it.

Is looking into the laser of one of those laser computer mice bad for your eyes?

You should never look directly into any lasers or strong beams of light. XD Anything with a power of 5 milliwatts or more can be damaging to your eyes.
As far as the laser on a computer mouse, no, it shouldn't damage your vision. Mouse lasers are weak, less than 1mw of power.
I don't reccomend staring into it for prolonged periods of time, but glancing into it briefly wont hurt you.

Exactly what Dan said. =D At worst, you just have to go to another school... so you should try!

How it's done?
Use ( dice = number ), except with square brackets instead of parentheses and no spaces (replacing the number with the maximum roll you want).
Why? I have no idea.

I don't reccomend staring into it for prolonged periods of time, but glancing into it briefly wont hurt you. But oh so shiny. @.@ There's a few games in the games board that use the dice function (namely 1337 dice game). Also for...I dunno, raffles? Or choosing whether your character should try option 1 or option 2 to advance the story...I flip a coin a lot in roleplay when both options seem equally suited to the character, but I can't choose which to do. Though my question is: Can you tell what the result will be before posting it? Or do you have to post it, then go back and edit the post if you were basing something around your result?
