This is my third NaNo attempt, and maybe it will be successful? I don't know. We'll find out.
Hannah knows that there is another world beyond this one, a world that people of magic blood can visit in their sleep. She's only visited this world a handful of times, with her mother firmly guiding her.
But one morning Hannah's mother won't wake up, and it seems that something catastrophic in the other world. When monsters arrive at her school and send everyone into an irreversible sleep, Hannah must venture into the world by herself.
It is not the pretty, fairy tale world she remembers from her childhood. There's the Shade, an evil storm that dispatches monsters from its clouds. There are the other Dreamers, who are a lot less heroic than one would expect. And there's a little hairy man who won't leave her alone and claims to know her mother.
It's a bit much.
Dramatis Personae
Hannah - Our heroine. Making it up as she goes, and not doing too bad a job.
Laura - Hannah's mother.As of now, spends most of the story asleep. Is still asleep, but plays a larger role.
Miles - Hannah's friend, with a ward that makes him immune to the sleeping magic. Largely responsible for dragging Hannah's unconscious body around.
Lily, Vladimir, Devon, Helen - Other Dreamers.
Bogg - Small, hairy, follows Hannah around. Has vital knowledge, but Hannah doesn't believe him. Needs a full name.
Michael - Would be a better love interest if he wasn't a bugdemon intent on eating Hannah.
Rachel - Hannah's aunt. Denies the existence of the dreamworld and is driven a little crazy as a result.
Prince Kaviel - Villain. His one true love disappeared many years ago.

I have the vaguest of plot outlines, but no villain, and the villain I don't have doesn't even have a motivation for what he or she has yet to do. >> So.
Anyone have any ideas for B___'s name? It should have a sort of, I dunno, swampy ring to it?
