I was just typing randomly, and I think I came up a premise for my NaNo! XD
Um, so, yeah. I'm guessing that the Internet merged with reality millions of years ago. Somehow.
Basically, I imagined a world where the "lost art of HTML" can be used to manipulate reality. Like, you can write <room bgcolor="#000000"> and it'll make a room with black walls. To change already existing walls, you'd need CSS, of course. 
I don't know what the title means yet. I'll find out.
Tell me, do I have a strange sense of humor? :P
As long as anyone can remember, America has been ruled by a immortal known as the Webmaster, who can seemingly will anything into existence. During this dopey college kid's oppressive reign, a young student named Marcus sets out to research a mysterious force -- something the Ancients called "internet".
His studies reveal strange things about the Webmaster: the secrets of his immortality, and how he manipulates reality through a lost art called HTML. He has no use for these things, though. He only wants to know: what was the Internet, and where has it gone?
One night, as he returns home, Marcus sees his entire hometown explode in a mass of 1's and 0's. Horrified, Marcus and only imagine what has happened to everyone he knows...and would've happened to him had he entered the town.
A stranger, who also witnessed this, tells Marcus that it is the work of the Webmaster. His is not the only town, either.
In a fit of rage, Marcus declares that he will avenge his home. The stranger tells him that if he is to do this, he must learn HTML. She can teach him. And in return, she'll tell him all about the Internet...
Expect loads of puns. I like puns.
