I've already started over three times. D: I just can't figure it out. I'm gonna try and start a new one... but I have no idea what I'm doing, no plot, or anything. This is kind of like last year, but worse. I'm really not sure if I'm going to be able to manage it.

So, Nano is going better. <3 I'm finally coming to understand my idea, kind of, and though I expect some problems in the future well... it's going decent right now. I'm at 9,010 words. I don't really want to share any of the actual writing, but I figure it wouldn't hurt to write up a new plot summary/back of the book teaser type thing. So. Here it is. xD Celia Clark's life has reached rock bottom. She’s failing out of school, her parents are never home, and her best friend has grown distant from her. She’s one step away from going over the edge, and she doubts that anyone can stop her now.
But then one day she meets Nickolas, a pale, dark-haired man who actually seems to care about what she has to say. The circumstances of their introduction are strange, but the desperate Celia little cares. She is enchanted by him, with his sharp sense of humor and clear blue eyes, and he seems to return the sentiment.
Quickly, however, it becomes clear to Celia that Nickolas is not quite what he seems to be. There are eerie, almost inhuman qualities to him, things that she cannot ignore, no matter how much she wants to. But when she finally musters the courage to confront her new friend, matters quickly take a turn for the bizarre. For the dangerous.
Soon, Celia is plunged into a new and menacing world, and she must face the facts of Nickolas’s true identity or risk losing him forever. But is she willing to sacrifice her own life and values in order to stay with the man who rescued her from the edge? Or is what he’s asking for simply too much for her to wager? ... and no, he's not a vampire. And yes, I suck at writing summaries. =D

So my Nano. OHBOY.
Despite the cheeriness in my last post, I really, really hated that idea. My MC was whiny and annoying, the motives were all flawed, the entire thing was messed up. But I had no other ideas, so I stuck with it.
Then, two nights ago. I was in the shower when an idea hit me, hard. For an hour or so I resisted starting it, but then, I did and soon... it was flowing. I knew starting over so late was a risk, but it definitely paid off. Just about an hour ago I reached quota for today (13.3k), and now I'm over 15k. My idea just resonates so much with me, and it's so fun to write! Another fantasy type thing, though a bit less dark. And without the romance.
*goes back to writing* <3

I have been exceptionally bad at updating my Nano thread this year. So... update. I'm currently at 44,500 words and fully expect to finish either today or tomorrow, or if not, then on Monday. Even if that means staying up late into the night and sleeping at school. ... although, 'finish' does not necessarily mean finish the actual story. I haven't figured out my ending yet, and I dunno if it'll fall right around 50k or somewhere after that. Could be over at 50k, could be over at 55k, could be over at 75k. I'm not sure. I'll just see where the plot leads me and how it all my subplots tie together. XD Don't wanna rush it in any case.

I finished! HURRAH. I figure I have between 2-5k left in my story. Hopefully I'll be able to wrap the whole thing up by the end of November. <3 I'll be honest, I'm not too happy with the whole ending, because I'm leaving some plot points unaddressed, but I can always edit later. =D

I dunno, Kath. XD Seems possible.
Anyway. Ever since I finished, I have not written a single world. @_@; Thanksgiving break should have proven to be a grand writing time, but no. Too much stuff going on... family, friends, random things. And now, at the tail end of break, I can't really write because I have a final to study for and two papers to write by Thursday. D: Ugh. I really wanted to finish my actual story by the end of November... but that's not looking too possible. :/ Sucks, this will be the first time I haven't actually finished the story itself by the end of November.

So I basically decided to be a hermit last night and wrote all night, and actually managed to finish the novel! Final word count: 58,065. <3
