lol k Kirb <333333 KAY SO Squiesh has an idea-ling developing!!!! So far, I've got the three main characters outlined, and a brief start of a plot. It's going to be fantasy-ish, coming of age type story I guess. And I'm EXCITED! I hope I'll be able to execute it well. I want to write it really bad now, and at this point I don't really care if I make the 50k mark or not, I just wanna put a dent in it. So if I end up being to busy to win nano, that's okay. FORWARD HOOOO into the ocean. |

Thanks Amnei! =D I ended up going with the name Lucas. I think it suits the character well. Okay, so I might as well give a brief summary of the story. It doesn't have a title yet...I phail with titles. Hopefully I'll have one...eventually though. XD Lucas lives in Ellil, a city of islands suspended in the sky. Down below lies the city of Duscim, a place he is not allowed to venture into. It's always dark and rainy there, and crime rates are notoriously high. On Lucas's 13th birthday, he wakes up to an empty house. Typical of his parents, who are on the verge of divorce and are always working. Upon going outside into his front yard, thousands of balloons start floating up around his house. He meets one name Helia, who has brought him a birthday card from B.A.D., the Balloon Association of Duscim, who say they have a present waiting for him down at the headquarters in Duscim. Lucas befriends the balloon, and she gives him a ride down to Duscim to retrieve his present.
He'll meet strange creatures, troubled criminals, and ... stuff like that.

Thanks, Amnei! ^_^ Here's an excerpt. And I changed Lucas's age. He's a bit older now, around fourteen or fifteen.
In that instant in which hope seemed so far away, like a balloon slipping from the hands of a child and floating up, up, never to be seen again...
Lucas caught a glimpse of a pair of the deepest cerulean eyes he had ever seen.
She had been turning the corner of the block, her ivory face in view just long enough for eye contact to be made. Her silvery blonde hair whipped behind her as she strode away, her long brown cloak waving a bit in the cold wind.
He had only seen her for a split second, yet he knew she had been the most beautiful girl he had ever seen, or was ever going to see.
It was strange. Reason had fled him. The only thing that remained was the longing eyes and heart of a boy. The logical side of his mind had been taken over by the most powerful emotion he had ever felt.
And it was good.
He wanted more. And it was now or never.
