It makes perfect sense. ^_^ ...your NaNo sounds awesome, Craig. And your excitement comes through in these posts. It's lovely.

It's amazing how parents can be the most uninspiring, antiproductive forces in the world. >_<
I'm two days behind on my NaNo because life has been extremely busy, and I honestly didn't have a spare minute to sit down and write. However, I now have a three-day weekend, and even though I have a couple of things going on, I thought my down time would be my down time, and I'd be able to write. Apparently, this idea is not shared by my parents.
It's just so frustrating. I can't even tell them I'm doing NaNo because they'd get all mad at me for wasting my time. So they think I'm just sitting at my computer doing nothing, when in reality I'm trying to get something done that's very important to me. It's a tough situation, since I can't really put all the blame on them, and yet, I need to blame somebody.
I don't want to get much further behind, but I've only got an hour before I leave for the night, and I probably won't be home until late, and I can't imagine being any further behind than I already am, and this is just driving me up the walls, and there doesn't seem to be anything I can do about it.

I am so exhausted. I just haven't had time to write. At all. And it's sad because I have so many amazing ideas. I love this novel so much. I don't think I'll be able to live with myself if I don't finish it. Tomorrow is my last day of school for the month. I'm just past halfway, wordcount-wise. One week to write 25,000 words. That's kind of insane. But I have to do it. This would mean so much to me. I love this novel. I want to finish it so badly. I feel like I'm going to explode from all the stress and pressure in my life right now.

*hugs* I'm with you. I'm one of the few people who has never worried about running out of words with their plot, because my own story is giving me tons of inspiration. I want to write it so bad, but in between exams, labs, and major essays -- there's just so many days that I can't grab the time to work on it at all.
But hey. There's still a week. That's a quarter of the whole month. People finish a week before the end all the time; who's to say we won't finish by the 30th, despite losing a week somewhere in the middle? Personally, I've started typing on the bus, in the lecture theatre before classes, and as I eat my lunch. It's those stray minutes I've got to harness now.
Keep going, Craig. <3 We can do it. Our stories are worth it.

*huggles Craig* NaNoWriMo doesn't have to end in November. If you want to finish your novel but can't in November, you can always dedicate some time to finishing your novel when you're free and spend that time writing it in the same way you would do so for November.
But in any case, I wish you the best of luck. ^___^

Wow, that stinks about your parents...it's always terrible when other people don't, can't understand the joy of something just because they don't experience it themselves.
And as everybody else's said, the novels don't neccesarily end on the thirtieth =) This's my third time through, and neither the past two years nor, it appears, this year, were/will the novels be even close to finished. What you can get done, you can get done. What needs to be done later, can be done later. You reach the end eventually, what matters is the perserverance, not the time frame.
Good luck, Craig =)

Thank you for the support, everyone. ^_^ I really want to do this.
I've officially passed halfway in my novel. I have about 20,000 words, eight chapters, and one interlude left to write, and just over five days left to do it. Luckily, I love my novel even more than ever right now, so I'm totally inspired to write.
I believe!

I'm so close! I've got four chapters and under 7,000 word left to write. I have a plan in my head for three of the four chapters. I think I'm going to make it. ^_^
I've been posting my daily word count on Facebook, and a bunch of my friends know I'm doing NaNo now. It was scary/embarrassing at first, but I'm glad I did it. I needed the motivation. I really hope people like the novel, though. xD It's going to be weird giving people a totally unedited work to read.
I just can't wait until I've won. *writes*

Yayyy! Great job, Craig, considering how much you've had to go through and how little time you've had! Senior year of high school is intense. @_@ Congratulations again!
