Oh, this looks fun! ^__^ I read a lot, so I'll definitely be participating. Sadly, I am time-strapped right now so I can't fill in a spread of what I've already read, but I'll do it soon. HURRAH.

Aw, Wolf, you randomly plugged my series right there. XDDDDDDDDD I feel oddly flattered. Do graphic novels/manga count for books? XD Anthologies, nonfiction, and fiction are all eligible, but textbooks do not, neither do magazines, photo collections, graphic novels or comic books. Sorry. I would say no. Oh, and Wolf, we have how long to complete this challenge?

Look on the bright side Nat, it will be as good excuse as any to read Xanth. xD
...Unless the series doesn't have a book by that name. >>

For series, does it count for the series name, or the specific book title?
Example: Does Pendragon: The Merchant of Death count as P for Pendragon or M for Merchant of Death? If it's the latter, I'll have a B and then an S in May, but if not, I'll only have a P.
EDIT: Also, do short stories count? I'm guessing not, but just to be sure...

This challenge is fantabulastic I'm so excited. And can we count books that begin with 'The' under either T or whatever letter their second word starts with? A: American Gods (Gaiman), The Amulet of Samarkand (Jonathan Stroud), A Hundred Years of Solitude (Garcia Marquez) B: The Big Sleep (Chandler) C: Coraline (Neil Gaiman) D: E: F: Farewell, My Lovely (Chandler) G: H: The High Window (Raymond Chandler), Hard Times (Dickens) I: The Iliad (Homer) J: The Jungle (Upton Sinclair) K: L: The Long Goodbye (Chandler); The Last Cavalier (Alexandre Dumas) M: N: The Name of the Wind (Patrick Rothfuss) O: The October Country (Ray Bradbury) P: The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde, Playback (Raymond Chandler) Q: R: S: T: The Count of Monte Cristo (unabridged) (Alexandre Dumas), Turn Coat (Butcher) U: The Ugly American (um, I forgot) V: W: Wuthering Heights (Emily Bronte); Washington Square (Henry James) X: Y: Z: EDIT: Now, see, the only problem with this is that I've read so many books since the start of the year I don't remember which I read for the first time and which for the twenty-first xD I certainly RE-read more than fifty books a year, but I'm not sure how many I read for the first time >> Fascinating! Hence:
A: American Gods, The Amulet of Samarkand B: The Big Sleep (Chandler) C: Coraline (Neil Gaiman) D: Deep Wizardy (Diane Duane), Dead Beat (Jim Butcher) E: F: Feed (TM Anderson) G: Good Omens (Pratchett & Gaiman), The Great Gatsby (F. That is, of course, why I had to say "yes." :P If you can't do books, like, physically can't, I'm sure exceptions could be made. I mean, most of the fanfictions that I've read (that were ever finished), were as long as books, so why not? In general, though, if you read enough to equal roughly twenty-five books, you've at least won the challenge from that aspect. Besides, you're an admin--you could give yourself the badge if you wanted no matter what I say! XD For the sake of it, though, e-books do count. They're just not as fun as real books. :D And so all points are covered, "instruction manuals" are listed under "textbooks." No cheating! lol. The fanfic (and its sequel) that I had in mind has 30-something chapters. XD XD Using my admin powers to badgify myself without earning it would be cheating, and nobody likes cheaters. =O Wait, you say I could just give myself the badge and you can't stop me... yet you forbid gaming manuals 'cause they're "cheating?" Hmmm... XD
