Jesse felt the same way, and was sure evereyone in the 'verse did. Despite the size, the inside of the Deep Raven was juat a little more cramped than the Firefly ships Jesse was used to.
"Dodd, let's go." Shon said to someone Jesse couldn't see.
"Sure thing, boss." The 'someone' replied, and the boat started to vibrate, a sure sign that the engines were starting.
((Shon, Dodd, Nash are all secondary characters; anybody can control them, but I have to go now and will have to post their info later...))

((Okay, here we go. If you feel you know a secondary char's personality well enough, feel free to post as them.
Nash: Usually will refer to "paperwork" or "official documents" to back his statements, he sometimes forgets he's not the ship's captain and will give orders that he shouldn't be able to. Gets upset whenever a crew member breaks a rule or law. Long blonde hair and dark, thin facial hair. Usually wears a grey or tan tunic. Caucasian skin with the slightest (barley even noticable) hint of african american ancestry.
Shon: She always reminds, usually with a hint of anger, Nash that she's the captain and he's not, she gets easily frustrated in bad situations. Will break any rules or laws to complete her mission or save a crew member's life. Dark brown, almost maroon, hair, often in ponytail. Caucasion skin. Usually wears something maroon, dark blue or dark green.
Dodd:h He is extremely sarcastic. If something is really obvious, he will be the first to point it out. As pilot, he's convinced Shon to make special modifications to the Deep Raven, to help him feel "more at home" and more secure. Asian skin tone. Short black hair with a single blue streak above the right eye. Usually wears something blackish, white, or yellow-gold.

In seconds the boat was off the ground, only to be back on it a second later.
Said Dodd, "I could have been an artist, but nooo.... "
"You, mechanic, find out what's wrong." Nash told Jesse.
Before Jesse could even turn around, though, the ship lurched into the air again.
"In my professional opinion, I'd say it was a resistor short, ma'am. Cripples an entire engine for about two seconds" Jesse said to Shon.
"Well go back and make sure it doesn't happen again."Shon said harshly.
In moments they were in space.

"Two people on this ship seem to be giving orders," said David alloud to everyone. "Exactly which one is the captain, if anyone?"
Shon spun around. "I am," she said sharply. "You should know that. Nash, here, sometimes seems to get delusions that he is, however."
"According to official documents, she does own the ship," said Nash grudgingly.
"I see," said David, perfectly calm and almost amused in his dry way. "Carry on then, Captain." With that, he took a seat and looked out into the black of space. It had been long since he'd seen it, yet he suddenly felt at home.
(Note that if you don't think I'm playing the supporting characters right, please tell me.)

((That seems pretty good, but Nash's response seemed a little different than I expected, somohow. I also forgot to mention that Nash and Shon are married.))
Dodd replied a little distractedly to Shon, "Didn't you say, once, that this boat was a gift from him though?"
"No, I never said that. I bought it myself." Shon said sharply.

(Yeah, I thought the response might have seemed a little wierd, but I couldn't think of anything better. That little detail about them being married should help me out...)

"Cap'n, look." Dodd said, pointing out the "windsheild"((Any clue what the proper term for a spaceship's window is?)) to a large, obviously modified freighter ship nearby. "Reavers."
"It's okay... just remember what we learned 'bove Persephone."Shon replied.
After a pause Dodd responded, "Uhh... Don't know what you learned above Persephone, but what I learned... doesn't really apply with Reaver ships."
Shon said,"No, not Persephone... ehm.... Haven, what we learned above Haven."
To which Dodd replied, "Well, course I'm not gonna run away. Ya think I'm stupid?"
Nash said,"Two words: 'Trinity canyon'..."
"Yeah...I saved our skins there and y'all know it."Dodd said, annoyed.
The Reaver ship started to pass by on the right side.

David was quiet as he stared intently at the Reaver ship as it passed by. His hand idly fingered his pistol. "Everyone make sure you got something to shoot with," he said surprisingly gently.

((I suppose you could choose some of the crew as permanent primary characters, or introduce a stowaway, or introduce somebody somewhere else completely, or wait until we reach Blue Fire to introduce somebody...)) The Reaver ship was past now. It changed course slightly, but sped off into space, as if it realized something was on a nearby planet.
"That was close. Next stop, Blue Fire."Dodd said, accelerating to full speed.
((By the way, Heero, I've been meaning to suggest: Maybe, so you won't get too controlling, try single characters not in a position of very big power.))

((No problem with that, I was only gonna have one char anyway. I'm not an expert on Serenity(only seen it once) nor on Firefly, I've only seen like 5-6 epis of the series. I'll be following your characters around when I'm not getting mine in trouble with someone. And I'll probably wait 'till you get to Blue Fire to join in. My char will most likely have just gotten fired because he got into too much trouble and his Captain finally got tired of bailing him out.))

It took quite a while to reach Blue Fire, but they got to it without incident.
Shon took the intercom, saying, "Mechanic, get up here, we've arrived."
