Well, this is the place for the first poll, a good first place to start.

I will double-post here to say that my vote goes to having the City as a main base, with all of the other things as well. (A royal zeppelin fleet, a submarine expedition, etc.)

[glow=red,2,300]Why do I get the feeling that no matter what we vote for, it's gonna end up having everything anyway?
I'm voting for the city, because as Toka-kun said, we need a place to store the everything that will eventually accumulate. [/glow]

xD Speaking of what Rider said, what about city which is supported by zepplins? There is no denying that it will be really cool and since it isn't needed to be too big, it could be possible.

I like the city with the moving castle supported by zepplins. xDDDD Ok, no actually, I like just the city with zepplins. The submarine sounds strange. x3

I'm not into the idea of a city at all actually. Maybe somewhere out there there's a Victorian city but I don't think it should be directly associated with the steampunk guild like the way say, Spacefleet HQ is for Spacefleet. I'd prefer a nomadic group, something more like the pirates. Not city like.

The Knights have a castle and a country so we could have a city in which our HQ is located. That way, we can still use the city, maybe even rule it like the Knights, but we don't have the whole thing as our HQ. xD

I'm a fan of decentralizing the guild, but having it stationary, hence, the city. Really it just makes the most sense as far as allowing creativity goes, a city is pretty open to interpretation, where everything else has a limited amount of space.

If the sub was the size of a real one then it would be very limiting, but who says it can't be bigger? I voted moving castle for the actual HQ, but I like the idea of having other things involved, so for example going Star Trek and having it so we're exploring/spying on the rest of the planet for the benefit of the city, which is far away but not so far that we can't go back to it every so often.

Call me crazy but when I think steampunk I don't think travel. Maybe our HQ is located in some city, but the majority of our time is spent away from it on a zepplin or whatever.

[glow=red,2,300]I'm with Keng. When I think steampunk, I think stationary.
Our base should be in the city, no doubt, but that doesn't mean we have our little financial outposts elsewhere. For example, almost every guild has a foothold in Tabloid Town. I imagine the Steampunk Guild would also have strong ties to the mages and maybe the pirates and ninja? I dunno.
Another thing: The members of the guild should have some strong string tying them together, perhaps financial or backstory-wise, so that we can travel apart from one another and still not end up as scattered and "everyone-doing-their-own-thing" as some other guilds. Not sure what specifically I'm proposing, but hey, I'll mull it over in class. ^_^ It's when I do a good chunk of my non-class thinking.[/glow]

Even though we are based in a stationary city, doesn't mean we can't go to other places. I plan on having a little single person airship or something for my persona, but it doesn't mean I'm going to constantly fly around until I die (might crash though >.>). And who knows, maybe every so often the city might mysteriously move to another location

I voted for the city. IMO, I base should be in a fairly stable place. Zepplins and walking castles are cool, but a city HQ sounds much more efficient. :3
