Okay, I've figured out enough of the details on my character to put up a profile. But I don't want to do any more than this until the guild has more history =3 Name: Owen Camdon
Age: 19
Appearance: No legs. His arms and body are reasonably muscular, but are generally hidden by his Steam Suit (see below). Has short brown hair, which again is usually covered. Blue eyes, a nose which twists slightly at the end, big ears, and a very cheesy grin.
History: Had a fairly uninteresting childhood, until he was magically poisoned at the age of 6, and his legs had to be amptutated. He went into a wheelchair, and a few years later decided he wanted legs. He spent a few years studying, and eventually managed to build a set of mechanical legs. He then decided to add in some hands, because he was unable to make use of his own hands, because they were required for the controls, unlike the wheelchair where he could use his head.
He continued to add to the legs, and when he added the armour he started referring to it as the Steam Suit. By the age of 17, he could use it as well as anyone could use thier own limbs.
Personality: Quite cocky. Likes to show off, to a fault. Unlikely to ever try putting a lock-picking mechanism on his Steam Suit, when he can simply kick down the door. Understands the concept of subtlety, but finds it boring.
Tends to be able to ignore the amplitude of a problem, until it becomes so big that he can't. Solves most problems with violence, but realises that sometimes it isn't good. Is able to act fairly refined, but needs a good reason.
Thinks he's better than everyone, and likes to prove it. Will generally try his hardest to get rid of things which make him feel inferior.
Tries to put a good spin on life, but isn't always able to.
Steam Suit: A mechanical suit which serves as Owen's body. Power source is a box containing heat and water crystals, which both soak up their respective resources and slowly release them. The box is on the front of his chest plate, and has a thick glass window so that he can tell from the colour of the crystals when the suit needs recharging. Some of the steam is recollected as water and heat after being used, in spare crystals that are not in the power box.
The suit is made mainly from steel, but with bronze plating. The older sections of the suit are rusted, but it has no effect on the function due to the bronze.
The Steam Suit has two legs, two arms, a steam powered rifle which sits on the helmet, and a pair of binoculars which can be brought down in front of Owen's eyes but normally sit above them. All of these are controlled by Owen's hands inside the suit. The suit also covers most of Owen's body with metal, but not his face or the front of this neck. A long steel sword and two steam powered pistols are stored on the belt of the suit, which are used by the suit's arms. The hands can do anything a normal human can, but when he needs to do a fiddly job he prefers to slightly open his suit and use his own hands.
The Steam Suit is able to provide more strength than most people, but more strength uses more steam and causes the crystals to drain much quicker. One of the controls is for universal strength. At top power, the suit is able to jump three metres high from a standstill.
Skills: Has made a hobby of creating machines, which generally involves upgrading his Steam Suit, although he has tried (and failed) on two seperate occasions to build a mechanical pet.
Owen is also good at tying knots, and picks up how to use and control things quickly.

Sarinon!I figure since she's a pacifist, she can play a support role in the guild, and she can also be a messenger without even having to move a muscle by sending telepathic messages to other guild members. ^_^ She's not very steampunk/leather, but she's much like me so I adore her. <3 |

And if I'm Tak because of a certain small cobbler.... that was an obscure reference! Ding ding ding! We have a winner! (Re-cobbled version FTW btw!) Also, I believe I owe you cookies Tak  *gives you a jar of double chocolate cookies* You keep these away from the ninjas superior guy. I think he's a cookie theif. He was rather suspicious when I asked him who stole the cookies from the jar. Wasn't a particularly impressive show of ninja subtlety. |

On a related note, if we're talking moving castles the Steam Castle from Steamboy comes to mind. It flies! :3 ... and freezes half of London but eh xD

Well.. I think at this point a lot of us have voted without the formal poll. We may need a poll for the base and/or the badges though. The problem is, how to do the polls simply without clogging up the guild boards with threads that will be a poll with no discussion that dies 2 days later. We may want to open up a thread in the CoC for the Steampunk guild if we're officially going to form and do the polls on there. You can have a poll and then delete it and start a new one on the same thread right? Yes? No? I've never tried before soo... yea.
