Better amount of response than I expected! I guess that means I should start thinking up character stuff etc. >.> Yeah... that's a good idea, it'll allow me to procrastinate on that huge list of stuff I need to get done before tomorrow morning. <.< >.> ...May I suggest we have a big base on wheels? =D With an on-board incredibly slow and large steam powered computer =3

...May I suggest we have a big base on wheels? =D With an on-board incredibly slow and large steam powered computer =3 Well, if we're going to have a mobile base, it's obviously on legs rather than wheels (much easier to generate awesome looking steam-powered motion on wheels) I was thinking about this, and was kinda thinking about a cityscape. Obvious other large projects might include Zeppelins, Moving Castles (like a mobile base) and/or steam submarines (HMS Nemo anyone?). Thoughts?

I once read a book where two desert nomad nations used huge wind-ships to roll around the desert and fight each other. I rather like the ship on wheels + sails and whatnot. xD May not fit with steampunk.

I'm going to look into this Steampunk thing, I think I have the gist, inventors and such, using steam powered inventions? But not too sure as you can tell by the question mark.

Yeah, steampunk is usually set in Victorian style with many more modern technologies that are powered by steam (and/or clockwork, since in my head I completely merged the two genres). Heavily influenced by Verne's and Welles' fiction as well.

Right, I've decided to use Sarinon for this. ^^ She's lovely and her full persona can be found here. ^_^

Steampunk Works in FilmsThere's a list of movies that Steampunk was in. I'm fairly new to Steampunk myself, but I've been seeing it for years without realizing it was it's own thing Oh, something they don't mention on the site, Full Metal Alchemist use steamed powered cars. Which is a little different from the Steampunk theme, but steam powered still --- Oh, and I like the walking castle idea ^^ Reminds me of Howl's Moving Castle Edit: Oh, for you fliers out there. Check out SkyGunner. They aren't wings, but small planes. But you can work it into wings if you want I want that game to... I forgot about it, but I wanted it years ago to...

OMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGMGOMGOMGOGMOGMGOMGOMGOGMGOMGOMGOGM! I CAN USE DOUG!He's Steam PINK! He's a goblin miner (though he could also do some other mechanics stuff.) But hey, all that coal to power the steam stuff has to come from somewhere. Also, I vote for steam powered mobile base. And in the desert would be interesting as SF is about the build a new planet side base/spaceport in a desert and it would be good to see the desert get a bit more use. It'd also make sense that they should run into eachother in such a way as not many people have been to the desert.

Space Fleet. I see them as the Steampunk rivals. Space Fleet went into electricity and beyond. Steampunk continued to use steam instead of switching to electricity, and have the equivalent to many things (sure we can't enter space, but who needs space, I do not want to see a steam powered space ship ) So we can be rivals, but not enemies at the same time. Both being stationed in the desert would be cool. Since we seem to be planning a movable base, it just seems right to travel into the unknown land :P971

Guess why they use them on tanks? =3 Plus legs would be weird xD I keep thinking of Star Wars.

[glow=red,2,300]I think I just might create another character for this one.[/glow] Name: Adeline Spencer
Age: 14
Appearance: Human, petite, with pale ivory skin and long blonde hair.
Outfit: She likes Gothic Lolita outfits, you know the deal. Petticoats, lace, ribbons, stockings. Wholly impractical for her line of work, but try telling her that. She's usually seen wearing the stereotypical Goth-Loli headband, with a different color ribbon depending on her outfit.
History: The only child of a famous airship engineer, Cid Spencer. At the age of 3, she started showing an affinity for machines and water-magic. At the age of 7, she built her own working airship model. By the age of 12, she had built the full-scale deal. When she had learned all that her father could teach her, she boarded her best airship (the Luna Moth) and ventured in search of a new master.
Personality: Fairly demure. She tends to not let her emotions show, which in conjuction with her outfit, makes her seem like one of those spooky children you see in the movies. She has a very warm heart, but it is hard to earn her trust. She seems much older than her years and has this disconcerting stare that unsettles most adults. Still is a little spoiled.
Weapons: She has a hollow dagger-handle that contains a fair amount of water. Using magic, she can turn this water into a dagger with a sharp, icy edge. Her favored weapon, however, is a steam-powered pistol. Can carry 6 shots, is light and practical, and is painted black to match most of her outfits.
Abilities: Can channel water, but needs a source of water nearby (can't pull it out of the air like Katara or anything). Can freeze or boil water at will. (Useful for a steam engineer.) It's possible that she uses her powers to keep herself clean while working, though she has neither confirmed nor denied.
The Luna Moth: Is a zeppelin top strapped to a sailboat bottom with a bunch of bronze pipes coming out the tail that spit out steam when we want to go slow and fire when we need to put the pedal to the metal. I'll describe her better when I'm feeling more poetical. XD Drat. *headdesk* I was going to call an airship the Lunar Moth at some point. Um. Oh well? Argh, if I had a little more time and could trust my activeness I would join this guild in a heartbeat. <3 I adore steampunk. Maybe later ...

Hmm, I was just thinking about having our own personal vehicles I'm still working on my persona, trying hard not to make him clones of my other personas >.> Something I just found. A Steampunk Name Generator. I'm not sure if I'll use it, since I didn't like being named Gil Brock >.> But I figured some of you might get a kick out of it Edit: Well I got a name figured out at least Gil Maxwell, and I got it from the name generator >.> Gil is the generated name using my real name. Maxwell is using Brock (used my last name for that) and just putting in the name it gave me until I got a last name I liked... Yep..
