As soon as you enter the large wooden building on the side of the mountain, a powerful smell hits you. It is herbal and quite rich, although among it you can pick up hints of mint and fruit. Closing the great door, the warmth and humidity of the place surround you completely. Beautiful images of plants, animals and man-made devices are carved into the rich brown of the wood.
In front of you, a row of pillars and cushions lead down to an altar where two cups, a milk jug, a steaming pot and a basket of sweet pastries stand. Deciding that the owners won't mind, you pour yourself a cup and take pastry.
The legend was true. The Tea Temple exists. Welcome one and all to The Tea Temple, a place for tea drinkers to gather and discuss this glorious beverage. Whether you are a fan of normal tea, mint tea, fruit tea or tea with milk, here at the temple we accept all. So go ahead, just sign up today. You can even give yourself a spiffy title, although that is just for fun. Members- Celestial (Mint tea)

Some topics for discussion, to get us started: - What is your favourite tea and why?
- What do you consider to be the best way for brewing tea?
- Is tea better hot or cold?
- Any tea-related stories you'd like to share?
Those are just suggestions, you can discuss anything tea-related here, just keep the place alive and the tea hot. ^_^

As an inveterate Englishman I feel I should have some form of presence here, as it is the national drink *puts on top hat, tails and the monocle, while sipping a cup of tea with the pinky sticking up* However, to my eternal shame, I am actually incapable of making a cup of tea. I don't know why it is, but I can't do it Nonetheless, I still love tea and have it whenever the opportunity arises, even if I don't really want/need a drink, because it is so nice and has such novelty value to me ;D

I'm not the only one who suffers from it though, as my nan's son (she's my step-nan technically so he's not my uncle or father) can't do it either. I think I'll have to go and practice some more, as you can't beat a good cuppa.

As somebody who's generally an iced tea drinker, I feel like I'd feel a bit out of place. But I do enjoy a nice cup of hot tea too, so sign me up anyways.

Good luck! ^_^ May the tea come to you. As somebody who's generally an iced tea drinker, I feel like I'd feel a bit out of place. But I do enjoy a nice cup of hot tea too, so sign me up anyways. Everyone's welcome Hunter, as long as they like tea. =3 We don't discriminate.

I always put the boiling water and sugar in first, then dunk the tea bag in and squeeze/pinch it with a spoon to get the tea into the water quickly. XD *is flogged by tea experts*

Well, I tried my hand at brewing a cup of tea this morning. Thought in the wake of this place's creation I should give it another shot.
It didn't turn out too well, but it was drinkable. If you're willing to endure the pain that is.
On the plus side, it was an improvement on how it used to be. I just wish I knew how come it always turned out so rubbish. Nonetheless I will have to try again and finally crack this infuriating little curse that stands in my way. Maybe if I can do that I can start to sample different types of tea and properly contribute to thought here.
More good news, I'm going to my grandparents on Thursday so I can have a proper cuppa then. Ah, 'twill be nice.

^_^ That's great to hear Morton and hey, a small step is better than no step at all. Small steps can lead to places too. Wish you all the best with the creation of your perfect cup of tea.
And until that quest is completed, enjoy the cups of tea at your grandparents. ^^

I brewed a proper pot for the first time ever. My flatmate said he'd done it plenty of times but I kept ignoring his advice and it turned out alright. Not the best, but better than a teabag. The reason I ignored him was because last year he told me that he had baked pavlova so many times before so I listened and ended up witha marangue that could have been a lump of charcoal. =D

And anything is better than a teabag for a teabag without boiling water and a couple of minutes to stand as well as some milk is like a cake without flour, icing, eggs and milk. ...Long metaphor is long. ^^;; But at least your cuppa was good!
