It did not escape Laewyn's notice that he didn't answer her question, but she didn't really care, anyway. He wasn't from around here, and he wasn't a Sartan, so what did it matter?

Even if Tara hadn't told her, it wouldn't have made a difference to Laewyn. She knew nothing about this place, and didn't care if everyone around her knew. As it was, it might be of better use for now to let them believe she was like them; a regular mensch. ((A word used by Patryns to refer to what they believe to be the "lower races"; elves, humans, dwarves. PH33R MY INNER MONOLOGUE!)) She cleared her throat, but decided it best to say nothing, and reverted to scratching the dog's head with her bandaged hands.
