Gah. Fine, Wolf. I'll bother to write up a post. Um. Half chance of me doing that tonight. If not, tomorrow. :D *huggles!* Yay! Shade is here, to save the DAY!

Right. Guys, there's an OOC thread for a reason.
Look, I know the plot is kinda sucky and Wolf may be the only one with a plan. But we can change that simply by actually talking amongst ourselves about the plot, not just give shots in the dark and hoping we hit a plot. If you guys want a new roleplay, I'll tell you what the next plot would need to be: Fighting a war against Alec and Casandra. Do you want that? Do you really want to roleplay a losing battle? I don't think so. So you're stuck with what we have right now. You can work with it. Think up plots of your own and work them into the roleplay. If you do that, it'll be easy enough to make the roleplay work. Assuming we all keep posting. Okay?
..and I find it so sad and ironic that the last post in this thread still actually fits. Um. Yes. OOC thread. We have it. Use it. Please.

Shade, I can see why you're thinking that, but honestly, majority of the plot was around Kit and Fen, and neither are posting. I think we should start a new RP. We don't even need to keep Casandra and Alec. I think it would make sense if we did, but it's up to all of us not just you or I. Now the battle isn't necissarily a losing one, but even if it was, Shade maybe some of wouldn't mind RPing a losing battle, so it's not always the heros triumphing over the villains. We aren't necissarily stuck with this RP, and I would appreciate it if you didn't show any amount bigotry and open up to other ideas for new RPs. After all we all need to say our two cents, and personally I don't think one persons is more important than the other(sorry Wolf), as we are all human and have equal opinions, that should be considered atleast and not tossed aside immediately as I feel you have so unkidnly done with the new RP idea. Please do not take any offense in this, I am merely trying to state my view on the situation

I'm not a great RPer, but I could jump in at some point, maybe?

Cyb - I sounded more irritated and ranty than I am. Honestly, I half-think that we may as well wipe the slate clean and have an NPC as a king instead of Wolf. It'd make more sense within the roleplays. And it's not obvious at all from my above post, but I really don't care what the next roleplay is, or if we have one or not, so long as we have something of a plot. Okay? My point about adding new plotlines to the current roleplay still stands, by the way.
Sarn - Jump in whenever. Nobody will mind, really.

Sorry Wolf, but right now I have to agree with Shade's half-thought. It would be easier for when you are absent. I think we should scrap this RP start a brand new one, with a clean slate.

When I say blank it, I mean get rid of all history of the knights directly related to Wolf being kind. Please take that into consideration. I don't know how much that'd end up getting rid of, but it'd probably be a fair amount.

... It's better that we start anew.
There's no point in continuing a plot that is centralized on inactive characters. I believe that we should not be relying too much on them for us to have a plotline to follow. It's too much trouble following a dead roleplay like this, and I don't want to use too much godmodding just to make it live. That'd be pitiful and despicable roleplaying etiquette.
This might be just short of recreating the Knights guild, but I've weighed down the consequences and benefits. Personally, I'd go for a fresh start.

Why can't Wolf be king everywhere except role plays? He's still have his kingly duties and things like that, but there would be others who could take over if he isn't around.
But then again, I'm new, so disregard my opinion. =D

Sarn everyone's opinion counts. And I agree with Vyt, as stated earlier. I suggest starting anew.

Woah, hey, everybody calm down please! *takes a breath* *snogs everyone till they're stunned silent*
Ahh, that's so much better!
I think a lot of the problems in the guild--not specifically in the RP--are inherently my fault--and I'm actually glad that some of you agree with this. (I've kinda felt this way for a long time, but just thought everyone wanted me to be king, so I didn't say anything before....) Anyways, back when the guild was created, Shino and I ran things together, and...Shino isn't here anymore. His account isn't even here anymore. So...I've been left floundering in the waters for a long time now. You guys probably don't realise this, but while he was here, everything that was done in the guild was discussed between the both of us. In my eyes, he was as much king as I was--in fact, I'd wanted him to be king! And when he left...not only did the loss of his friendship hurt me personally, taking the helm as king--the one and only--made me realise, perhaps too late, that what had made me a good king then was his being my adviser, always there whenever I needed him. The knights guild was our thing, and in his absence, I let it become my thing.
A long while ago someone mentioned how almost every thread in this guild was started by me, how that might look intimidating to new members...and truthfully, I hate it. When Shino and I had a plan, it all made sense. And then when half the brain went missing, things began to deteriorate. And I accept complete and total responsibility for that. I want this guild to be an active, vibrant, fun place to be like it once was--and if having that means stepping down as king, then I'm all for it.
(To be honest, I think having an actual hierarchy in the guild is actually counter-intuitive: Though it may make sense in fitting with the theme, it subverts the nature of the guild being a democratic body, a single whole made up of its collective members, not its roleplay's figurehead.)
And that's actually what my plan entails--Wolf leaving Dunburrow. I won't disclose how, not yet at least, but instead of having one of the other knights take my place as I'd been planning, I'll pass the title onto an NPC instead. There's already somebody I've got in mind--somebody that's been here from the beginning. I'll write up a brief profile for him so that he has some kind of character for everyone to work with. But I think it'll fit well, and I think it'll be a great step in the right direction.
Now all I need is an enchanted bedknob.
Anywho, I've asked Ikkin to lock a few dated threads, which will hopefully help clear up the front page so it's not as dominated by me as it is now, and then I've got no future plans to start another thread here. (That's a lie. If ever I'm able to go through with my plans for the library--a general resource on knights to help people get into things--I do plan on starting that one and maintaining it. As I plan to major in History, I definitely foresee these plans coming to fruition sometime in the future.)
For a long time, we've been threatening to restructure the guild, and I think it's finally about time we just do it. I hate that I'll probably miss most of what goes on because I'll be in Israel for six weeks, but perhaps, in light of all that's been said, that'll be for the best. However, I do have a few requests....
The first is that I'd like the council to remain. At least in some form. I know it'll need some restructuring as well, and I've got a few ideas, but they can be talked about later. And the council should be for maintaining the guild, not directly a part of the roleplay. That just complicates things unnecessarily. We've learned this well, I think. And--whatever's decided--I'd like to know I've got a place to come back to.
The third is asking a bit more: I don't want to see the slate wiped clean, of anything. I know we can make this work, and I know we can get through this. We just all have to be a part of it instead of relying on a few select people to make everything better again--a plan that's been tried plenty of times and has yet to actually succeed in the long run. I don't want all of our hard work to fall away because we've had some slip-ups. We can prevail. We are the Knights of Dunburrow.
And in the meantime, let's kill the roleplay. I mean, if it's nine parts dead already, let's give it a king's death (no pun intended) and end it right. With the anointing of a new king, perhaps Alec and Casandra will be put off for a while and flee for the day. We can bring them back later, after things have been sorted through, but in the meantime, so long as we can sustain a healthy roleplay, that's what's important.
And I vote that Shade be responsible for starting the next roleplay. Just saying.

*snogs back with enthusiasm*
I second that vote for Shade and I'll be sorry to see you step down right after I join, and after such a long reign, too. But it is your choice and I'll support you whatever you do.

If it's alright with everyone, I'd still like to remain in a position of leadership in the guild--just not with the "leadership" part attached to it. I still feel much in love with this guild and I'd like to help maintain it as I always have (still do the knightings if I can), just not with the title of king, if that's alright with everyone.
Onto the roleplay, I just must remind everyone that I only have about one week--exactly--to get everything wrapped up before I don't know if I'll be able to do anything more with it. I know exactly what I'm up to, but I don't want to monopolise the ending if I can help it.
At which...to make a direct question: Are we ending this or not?
The answer to that will directly affect the direction I take my plan in, so I want to be certain we're all in accordance before I write The end and everybody wants To be continued instead, you know what I mean?

*lounges in a farther corner* If y'guys don't terribly mind the opinion of an outsider (well, I've pretty much made the business of all guilds my business, because if you die, we die, and staying separate and each guild sitting in their own corner is what's killed us all), it rather seems to me that you've gotten monarching as a whole a little wrong. The idea of everyone listening to the king only really works in theory, and in your case it doesn't even work in practice. Most of the time, your average medieval king would sit in the castle while all around the kingdom monarchy happened with the help of local tax-gatherers and town councils and whatnot, and knights usually travelled and quested and did whatever they bloody well pleased, including all sorts of ugly things, and hoped that as there was no internet and a knight's word weighed a lot, the king would never find out. And when he did find out, lo, reprimanding and yelling and threatening and the duty of undoing the harm and general plot opportunities. So I sortof fail to see why you need a king around in person either in roleplays or outside it, either in Wolf-form or NPC-form. It's funner without authority :3
*may now be thinking in pirate terms, but trust me, I've studied medieval literature to a pretty good extent*

Right. Hunty, my theory on having an NPC king is mostly for the sake of this being a medieval setting. The NPC king wouldn't even need to do anything within the roleplay, other than be a plot device to, well, start plots.
With what Wolf's doing with the plot, it'll all work out fine. I can see what he's planning. I'd just like Kat to reply to the roleplay (no matter how much or little) before I do again. Which'll let Wolf get his character out of this, I think. But anyway. How the roleplay ends doesn't matter much, to me. Either way we can tie in the plot of War Ascending with the next roleplay. Yes, it'd be wonderful to end War Ascending with the crowning of this new king.
And yes, I'll make the new roleplay, since you guys all want me to. But no matter what, before I do that I would like us to have some idea of where we want it to start out going.
And I think that's all I really have to say right now. At least, it's all I can think of right now.
