"Aye aye, cap'n" Ikkin said, flying over to the other ship to get a better look. There were about seven or eight men on deck, some of whom seemed to be arguing about what they should do about the White Weewoo. She heard the sound of footsteps below deck- there were more guards on the way.
If confusion was going to be used as an advantage, she thought, there might as well be more of it. She threw a couple of pressure darts at those who had not noticed her, in an attempt to turn her enemies against each other. One of her targets was hit, and started yelling at one of the other sailors behind him as Ikkin ducked out of site. She grinned- this would be fun.

((... Ikkin can fly? I thought you were a fox person, not a fox with wings person o.0 .. or is it the wind thing?))
Keng grabbed onto a rope she was 95% sure would not come undone or mess up the sails to swing down to the lower decks. "Ready for bording captain." she announced. "Should I put on my fur coat?"

"What's this?" asked Kat, glancing up from where she had bewitched a mop to swab the decks by itself. "'Nother ship be invading our turf, dare I ask?" As she looked up, the mop went limp and plopped onto the ship floor.

Zylaa emerged from her room and listened to the forming battle. She hesitantly went up and tapped Rider on the arm. "Er, I don't have any weapon or anything, and I don't know how to fight, and-" she checked herself before offering up moral advice, more because she couldn't remember a relevant Bible verse than anything.

Komori picked up the mug of n00b grog and gulped down the last bit. Not bad, but it did make her feel a bit odd...
"I'll just be stayin' on board here, if ye don't mind," she said with a small hiccup. "What good is a dinky li'l Korbat when ye've got a wolf, aye? 'Sides, somebody's got t' make sure this tub doesn't leak. Just don't go doin' something that'll swisscheese th' hull. I'm only one bat, after all."

Rider shrugged off the weasel-girl. Sooner or later, she supposed Zylaa would come in handy for something.
It was a small vessel, a bit more than half the size of the Weewoo. The few men on board seemed to have the wit of a hedgehog. This'll be like taking candy from a baby...
Ventratta looked at her as if to say, "Yeah, a baby Harpy, maybe..."
A Techo in long, flowing starry robes strode out on deck. "What is the meaning of this?" He shouted to the confused pirates. "What the- Hold on, we've got company!"
"Board, now!" Rider called, throwing a grappling hook so it caught of the ship's guard rail. "And watch out for the mage!"

Keng did not delay in the order. However, instead of crossing varry the rope attaching the ships, she chocked up on the rope she swung down on, then got as far away from the othership as fast as she could. Her intention of course being to swing over, so making sure the rope was as tight as it could be, to make for a better and faster swing, she took a leap and pendulumed forward, just barely making it far enough to barrel into one of the oposing crew members.

Ikkin took Rider's call as her chance to leap up onto the deck. She surveyed the scene- that mage Techo might be some trouble, she thought. He might be best to be taken out first.
Using surprise to her advantage, she ducked under the other men and threw a pressure dart at the Techo. He easily deflected them, returning fire with a medium-power lightning spell that Ikkin barely managed to dodge. In an effort to make sure that no one else would get caught in the crossfire, Ikkin leapt up into the air. The mage smiled - surely, she'd be at a disadvantage there. Ikkin, however, wasn't one to let something like that effect her- she dodged his second lightning spell as easily as the first, and managed to catch him with a pressure dart to the shoulder when he was distracted.
She landed on the deck to his side lightly, preparing for the attack she felt sure would come as soon as the mage could turn. Instead of the concentrated attack that he had been using, however, he lashed out with a dark spell that surrounded him before spreading out and blasting Ikkin backwards. He attacked again, with a more concentrated dark attack this time, before the kitsune could regain her feet, but this proved to be a bad idea, as she blasted through his attack with fire. It was too late for the mage Techo to defend.
One down, Ikkin thought. Though, that particular one was too close for comfort...

((Lol komori XD))
Keng decided she would save her transformation for a tight situation. In the meantime, she shook swords with the first sailor to confront her. The first clash of steel on steel of the battle reverbrated off the sails. She tried for a low swipe at the legs but had to stop short to dodge a counter swing aimed at her neck. Just barely. She then tried for a false lunge, faking the motion but changing to a swing part way through.

Post by Huntress on Jun 1, 2006 10:36:57 GMT -5
Huntress was crouching on the lower topgallant yard, keeping an eye on the ship and opening the lid of her steel quiver. The arrow she took out was dripping with something light green and very smelly. The girl sniffed it, frowned, loaded her crossbow, aimed carefully and suddenly shouted: "Boom!"
A few of the nearby sailors on the other ship stared at her - but the only visible result was another little meepit showing up on the yard. This one looked like all the others, except for his ears were burned and most of his face was black with soot.
"You called?" he asked. The arrow whizzed off, hitting a sailor's leg. The man stared at it for a few seconds and then fell on the deck.
Huntress loaded the crossbow again. "I'm runnin' outta Slumberberry poison, Boom. It's getting weak. Make me a new portion, and fast."
Boom the meepit squinted at the other ship's deck. "Dunno, I'd say that they'll get a very nasty hangover from that potion. Worse than a good night's sleep if you ask me... okay, okay, I'm going already!" The meepit trotted off over the yard while more and more arrows whizzed through the air. Some meepits boarded the other ship to start with their usual say-hi-to-the-sailor-and-watch-him-faint tactic.

Rider swung onto the deck. One of the pirates was ready and waiting for her with a throwing knife. It was mostly by sheer luck that Rider dodged it. Well, the fact that one of Huntress's Meepits had started introducing himself to the pirate might have also helped.
"This be an official raid!" she called, her voice nearly lost in the din. "If ye surrender, we won't kill ye an' take all of yer Phoenix Down, an' leave ye on an island ter starve!"
They didn't seem ready to surrender quite yet.
Her opponent had regained his wits and had drawn his cutlass. He was the no-nonsense type, aiming to kill rather than wound and to top it all off, he was completely sober. He started by attempting a close slash to Rider's belly, which she blocked. Quickly, he brought his sword around again and grazed Rider's arm.
A second pirate came from behind Rider, clutching a dagger.
Ventratta leaped up and bit him in the leg.

Zylaa whimpered and slunk back down towards her room. The weasels, never one to miss out on something shiny, began to leap onto the opposing ship, tackling all who opposed them by sheer strength of numbers.
