Similar to its name, in this RP everyone can have a familiar! Interesting theme, I think ... in case you're unsure, my definition of a familiar is: "A creature representing an animal that has deep bonds to its master. Of magical origin, and possessing vast quantities of magic, humans are unsure of just how much power they have. They are extremely loyal and intelligent." Set in medeival times ... so here's my character and familiar. Name: Andra Gender: Female Age: 14 Race: Mostly human, but has some special heritage, for she has a peculiar familiar. Appearance: Very short black hair, dark brown eyes, with baggy red pants and a tight-ish green shirt. Wears a red bandana over her boy-length hair. Short for her age, and very skinny, yet muscular. Personality: Very much a pirate, though not as rude as one. Very straightforward and down-to-earth, but sharp as the daggers she keeps. Hard-working and shows little emotion. Quite the tomboy, she knows nothing of love, except for the bond between her and her familiar. Abilities: Knows little of magic, but is a very versatile fighter. Daggers are her weapon of choice, but also uses fencing swords (lighter and faster than broadswords), hand-to-hand, and a bow and arrow. In excellent physical condition. Bio: A great fighter, abandoned and left for dead at the mercy of pirates when she was 4. Her real parents were in a castle, and so she learned the bow and arrow from them. She looks to be about a quarter elf. She was raised among swashbuckling pirates, and has very much conformed. Name: Beej Race: Familiar. Appearance: A cat the size of a kitten, black as the night, with wings attached. Sleek and slender, skinny as Andra, but with eyes gleaming a deep vivid green. Personality: Quite similar to Andra, straightforward and blunt, but cunning and clever. Quicker than the eye can see, people have a habit of losing their purses when she's around. The aura of magic lingers around her, penetrating anything and everything. Who knows what else she can do... ((Oh, and just so that it isn't confusing, I've RPed using familiars before and it's easiest if the familiar 'talks' in a colour. Mine is green. Oh, and a note to Godmoders: You can't just happen to "overhear" a conversation between a familiar and a human. Familiars can talk to whom they want when they want through telepathy, and the person they are talking to can also speak back telepathicly (sp).)) Andra was walking through a forest, with Beej at her side. I told you we were lost! ((<--That's Andra "talking" to Beej)) We're not lost. We're just taking a detour, that's all. We're at least half an hour away from the town!Well it's not like you're missing out on anything.Me ship makes but one stop every month to loot the town and stock up on supplies. And you're saying I'm not missing much?Well looting is a vile part of piracy at any rate. You should be thankful I steered you away. And what does a pirate do, if not loot?Behave normaly, perhaps? You should talk! You're a talking cat!And you're a talking ape. Your point is?I'm a human. 'Scuse me?You evolved from apes.At least I walk on 2 legs. And I walk on four. Again, your point? Much more efficient, with four legs.Look you stupid lit-Beej looked around. What was that? There was a sound surrounding the pair of them. Whatever it is ... I don't like it.Andra drew one of her daggers and turned around. "What are ye! Show yerself!"

((Argh, I closed the window too fast...now I have to start over...
Name: Naomi Age: 12 Gender: Female Appearance: Olive skin, black hair just long enough to be tied in a ponytail, wears a sleeveless tan shirt and tan pants with a brown cloak. Deep green eyes, wears a golden arm ring on her left arm. She wears leather sandals, and on her right ankle is a tatoo of a black rose. Personality: Complains a lot, very vain, hates it when people can do things better than her. Bio: Her family is rich, so she used to get everything she wanted. That's how she got Harmiyah(her familiar), who taught her a bit of magic. But, Naomi wouldn't practice, and she couldn't get more skilled because of that. She still wanted to get more powerful, though, and researched for something which would help her become powerful without much effort. She finally read about a magical amulet, the amulet of Tishar. Since then, she is off to find that amulet with Harmiyah, who thinks it's stupid.
Familiar:
Name: Harmiyah(Hahr-My-ah) Age: Unknown Appearance: Under the form of a gray wolf with black stripes, but bigger than a normal wolf. Golden-yellow eyes. Personality: Harsh, always speaks his mind.))
Naomi and Hamiyah were walking through a forest.
Gah! My feet hurt so much, Harmiyah! Why don't we just stop for a while and rest?
Oh, quit complaining, Nao, and keep on walking. We should get to a city by sundown if we continue like this.
Harmiyah! Stop it! My feet really hurt!
I swear if you complain about your sore feet one more time I'll bite you, Nao.
Harmiyah turned around and started walking towards Naomi, glaring at her.
Harmiyah! Stop! That's not nice!
Naomi backed up until she fell into a bush.
Harmiyah kept advancing and started growling.
Naomi crawled backwards until she got out of the bush and ended up in the middle of a clearing.
"I said STOP IT!" she yelled out loud.

I'm FINALLY BACK TO THE RP BOARD! ... sorry, screaming XD Anyway, brand-new off-the-top-of-meh-insane-mind character.
Name: Karamirii <kare-uh-meer-ee> Age: 13 Gender: Female Race: Mostly human, 1/2 Tijanese (muahaha! Ph33r my made up race of DOOM) Appearance: Tall, with long fire-red hair. Her eyes are black, but slightly red if looked at correctly. (compliments of her Tijanese heritage.) She wears black pants and a sleeveless grey shirt, and no shoes. Personality: Slightly irritable, but willing to help others. Does not bond with other humans, but loves her familiar more than anything. Abilities: Fire magic, a result of her Tijanese blood. She also carries a longsword which she can fight well with, and is skilled at martial arts. Bio: Result of a human father and a Tijanese mother. Her father was killed in a hunting accident, and she wasn't welcomed in her mother's Tijan village, so her mother, fearing for Karamirii's safety, gave her a cub of her familiar and sent her away at age 4.
Familiar:
Name: Maraji <mair-ah-jee> Age: Roughly 10 years old. Will live as long as Karamirii does. Gender: Female Appearance: Maraji looks like a fire-red tiger, the same color of Karamirii's hair, with pitch black stripes. She's very large, though, slightly bigger than a normal-sized full grown male tiger. Personality: Quiet but cunning and very intelligent. She's somewhat kinder than Karamirii, but can be slightly sarcastic.
Karamirii was walking through the forest, one hand on Maraji's back, when she heard noises. She stopped still. What was that? I do not know. I am a familiar, not a diviner.... Then they both started as they heard someone, no, two someones, yell. "Who's there?"

Harmiyah emerged from the bushes and sat down in front of Nao, waiting for her to get up.
Fine, I'll stop, but I can only think of three words to describe you right now: whiny little brat.
Naomi got back up.
Haha. Very funny. NOT!

Karamirii heard more rustling. She repeated, "Who's there?" Maybe if you would go see instead of standing here shouting your lungs out, you would find out. Shut up, Maraji. If you will go see what is over there. You and I both know we are both perfectly competant at defending ourselves. Fine. Karamirii drew her sword, just in case, and walked over to somewhat the area where she had heard the noises.

Andra peered through some bushes into a clearing, and saw a wolf bearing down on a little girl. Not that much younger than you. Well, two to three years, at any rate. Exactly. STOP reading my thoughts!
The girl looked fairly helpless, but snooty and rich, which would provide a good reward/ransom for her well-being/living. Andra sliced the branch with her dagger, and prepared to jump in front of the wolf. One .... two .... thr-
You nut!
Andra stopped mid-jump as Beej hurled herself on Andra's face. Are you insane? That wolf looks wild enough to eat her! That's a familiar. I can feel it. Don't do anything. No. Goes against me upbringing, you see. Let's not forget you aren't just a pirate, and you are actually of respectable heritage. But I was brought up by pirates, not by me "parents". I wouldn't be surprised if you were royal. Let's not start this again ... in the meantime...
Andra stepped out into the open calmly. "G'day m'lady. I was jus' wonderin' if ye was plannin' t'be cornered by a wolf out in th'middle of nowhere." Honestly. Your vocabulary and your accent is disgusting. Quiet, you.

((Okies, this is happening before Andra came out from the bushes...))
Haha, your sarcasm is so bad I would be laughing right now if I were human.
"Oh, will you shut up already?! You're MY familiar, not my master, and you should be FRIENDLY to me!" replied Naomi. She paused. "Wait...did I say that out loud?"
Yup. And I'm your familiar, not your slave.
Naomi slapped her forehead. "Not again!"
And you just did it again.
Just then, a girl just a bit older than Naomi came out from the bushes and talked to Naomi.
"Eh...no, not really..." replied Naomi.
Let's just hope she didn't hear me talking to you...
She probably did, she doesn't look deaf...
Naomi glared at Harmiyah.

Andra shrugged, somewhat confused by the arrogance of the girl.
"I was jus' wonderin' is all, since nice girls like yerself normally stay in town or are at th'convent at an age such as yers...not many choose t'befriend wolves. If that wolf is a friend of yers. I'm curious ... ye wouldn't happen t'be lost, would ye? Jus' ye don' often see many people 'round these parts..."
'Cept for th'insane. Would you be quiet already! I find these parts quite relaxing. And you should too, if you know what's good for you. Look. Righ' 'bout now I'd smile if the'girl wasn't watchin' us. I'm a pirate, remember? I drink rum with th'men of me ship, I hardly get any sleep with all th'pirate-stuff. Since when do I care what's good fer me, really? Good point. Still, when you ask a girl what's wrong, you could at least say it as if you're both of the same gender, not as if you're some pirate trying to court her. Ye forget I'm a girl. No, you forget you're a girl. And ye forget yer jus' a stupid cat! Remember yer place! My place is to be at your shoulder guiding you, like the FAMILIAR I am. Fer all yer talk, I've never seen ye do any magic... Anyway, talk to this girl. I could use some food better than the grime you get at those inns.
"'Names ... er, Beej, if ye please. I was wanderin' here with me cat, and heard yer scream." She held out her hand.
Wise, wise. After all, there is quite a bounty on your head, isn't there? A bounty on me and me ship and all of me crew. Stop calling it YOUR ship. You aren't even captain. And I don't think I like having my name used as yours so you don't get caught. Not like yer name's anythin' special anyway... You could get into some serious trouble if you stay here long ... in this town, or with this girl.

Naomi didn't know what to say.
Well? What are you waiting for? Talk to her!
Well I don't know what to say!
Then repeat after me: No, I'm on a journey and that stupid wolf just seems to be following me around for no reason...
"No...I'm on a..what? tourney? and that...erm...cupid wolf just seems to be following me around for no..erm...prison?" Naomi said.
I give up. You can't even repeat things right!

Karamirii heard more talking, and walked into the clearing where it came from. There she saw a girl with a cat, and a girl with a wolf who seemed to be bossing her around. They were conversing. She sheathed her sword and stepped into the clearing with Maraji at her side. "Er... anyone mind to tell me what's going on? I heard yells..."

Andra turned to the newcomer. "Well, t'be honest, I wish I knew. Seems there's some dispute. Th'girl was bein' cornered by th'wolf, and now she's mumbling somethin' ... I think she's lost an' she won' tell me what's happenin' ... seems in shock if y'ask me."
You left out the part about how that wolf is a familiar ((If that's too god-mod-ish let me know and I'll take it out.)), you're a pirate calling yourself by your familiar's name because there's a bounty on your head, and I'm just here unnoticed. Well I wasn' plannin' t'mention any a that an' see wha' would happen...

"I'm NOT lost! I'm on a journey to find a magical object. An amulet." replied Naomi.
Good. So now, after looking like a total wierdo because you can't repeat things right, you decide to tell them all about what you're seeking, just to show off. Why not tell them I'm your familiar while you're at it?
Oh shut up. You couldn't do any better, I'm sure.

"An amulet, eh? ((ph33r my Canadian-ness)) Well I migh' be able t'help ye there. If ye be wantin' my help, I know of a lotta places near here tha' migh' be exactly whatcher lookin' fer. O' course ... I'd need some money an' all ... good labour is hard t'find these days y'know."
So what are you now, a pirate, a man, a girl, a liar, AND a mercenary? Quiet. I could use some silver, and if I'm not lootin' I'd at least make a few honest bucks. Wow. I really have changed you. Don't YE start.

Harmiyah growled, but didn't move.
"Not just any amulet. One specific one. The amulet of Tishar. According to my father, it's somewhere in the west, in a land called Fyan."
I don't trust that girl...
YOu sure? I could use some help...
Oh COME ON. You've got me, and that's good enough.
And didn't you hear about the saying, "The More, the merrier? We both hate eachother, and you know it.
DO what you want, but I'm not responsible if anything bad happens.
Argh, whatever.
"Not just any amulet."

Told you she has a familiar. No normal person looks for a "special" amulet. Well at any rate, th'more rare this amulet'is, th'more I'll get payed fer findin' it eh?
"Well I could help ye there, after all...well, let's jus' say I've travelled the world many times." If the girl doesn't figure out now that you're a pirate, the familiar will. Is there somethin' wrong with bein' a pirate? Yes, when you have a bounty on your head worth more than you'll ever make plundering.
